Got 2 packs of Sainsburys sausagemeat last night for 49p each (halved and frozen) and a packet of croissants for 10p - warm the croissants up this morning for breakfast with jam.

Spent over £6 yesterday , but mainly on getting some stuff for son's hamper (visiting next week), got some Sacla pesto (using coupons) and a bag of coffee. Got some curry sauce ready for Saturday when I'll get some half-price diced chicken breasts (Lidl) and make and freeze some chicken curries.

Nothing planned for main meals today yet, still not 100% - may just have a freebie can of Campbells soup. lol
................chicken??, mushroom?? or tomato??............decisions, decisions. :rotfl:

  •:cool:stocked up with more free shreddies and campbells soup today - the chicken one is absolutely VILE though!! The mushroom, celery and tomato ones are fine though.

Storecupboard is definitely much less crowded than this time last month - I will do another big shop at the start of October and replenish the stocks.

Used up last of the minestrone from the freezer for lunch and doing jacket potatoes with chicken chargrills for DD1, I will have jacket potato with either tuna or beans and DD2 will have JP with beans and/or cheese as she is a veggie (three days now:cool:)

My stock of cheese is running low but there are no really good promos on at the moment.

OH has store cupboard pasta salad, I've got cucmber and dairylea sarnies.

Dinner will be if anything a pizza and curly fries out the freezer.

Need to pick up lunch box things over the weekend, crisps, babybels, mayo and a few bits. Lidl have half priced diced chicken on offer here, so might pick some up for the freezer.

Need a sunday lunch idea too.

Ended up having lunch out yesterday (not very good!!!!!!!!!!).
Got some free dallagio sauces for son's hamper and bought some cream cakes, biscuits, cheese squares and a swede.

Just messing today, nothing planned - still off food a little, probably a good time to get weighed. lol

My freezer is full again. In fact it's jam packed. :o

So, starting from today I WILL NOT buy anything else for it (unless I run out of frozen veggies). Hopefully I'll be able to go through the end of this month and well into next month without buying more whoopsies (I just can't help myself). I think I'll just have to pick up the little one from school without my purse, that'll stop me.

The only thing I'll need to buy regular is milk, fruit, veg, bread and pure juices.

I have just subscribed to this thread to get some inspiration.

An ebay chest freezer arrived last week; a second one to keep in the garage for allotment surplus and yellow sticker stuff. Until now I have made do with the bottom of a decent size fridge freezer.

Have spent a couple of days prepping/cooking/packing stuff from the lottie, but have had to fill the bottom half with milk bottles full of water until I can fill it with edibles.

I need this thread to keep reminding me that half the challenge is to use things from the freezer, rather than only filling it up with bargains. I will watch this space with interest. Thanks everyone.

We had a whoopsied pizza out the freezer last night with some curly fries.

Today I'm out most of the day so probably won't eat much, I've got a boiling ham out for lunch meat for the week ahead, will sort that out tomorrow. Need to lift some chicken for tomorrow's dinner too.

  • Have just made a GIANT pasta bake out of 250g minced beef from the freezer and some celery, carrots, onions and mushrooms from the fridge and a jar of Tesco Value pasta sauce from the cupboard. I added a couple of oxos, some dried oregano a tsp of sugar and a splash of balsamic vinegar and it tastes really yummy!! I am just cooling it down and then will freeze it as it is too big for us to have now that younger daughter is a veggie, and my sister is coming on Wednesday so I will thaw it out and top with some grated cheese and heat through for that. The Tesco value pasta sauce is really nice - I was surprised! It was only 19p for a large jar, although I have just looked online and it has gone up to 24p but still a bargain as it tastes lovely and the ingredients list is short with no nasties.

Tea tonight will be chicken fillets (from freezer) with jacket potato and salad for DD1, veggie fingers, mash and beans for DD2 and I'm not sure what I will have as I have just "sampled" a load of the pasta bake and am currently full! May just have some beans on toast or a salad sandwich.

I am going to do an Approved foods order on Monday - the HAK bottled fruits are just amazing!! Last time I got blueberries, raspberries and blackberries and have just used the last of them yesterday. I hope they have some in stock! Will have to be very strong willed and resist all the sweeties though!
