  • hi ladies can i please join your thread......... i have 2 freezers that are full, one is a 6ft one, that matches my fridge, and the other is a medium chest freezer............eek
anyhow i want to eat out of them and get them down so i can get some christmas goodies ect.....
i however will still need to shop each week for packed lunch stuff, fresh produce, bread, milk etc...i want to do the majority of my meal planning from the freezer though x :xmastree:

  • Woooo! iv'e been busy, batch cooking, enough meals to have lunch all week with a little bit of variety.

I have made a mince pasta bake, saw jane had made one and it reminded me i had a large pack of mince in the freezer, also out of the mince i had enough to make a shepards pie, i used those round foil containers from 99p shop, 6 for 99p, they are favb, they are great for things like pies etc and the shepards pie will go in the freezer along with a pie i made last weekend.

I have also made some crispy chicken from the mccains site, it is great, as its so similar to fried chicken, but no frying, had some for lunch and it was yummy! all it uses is melted butter breadcrumbs and some seasoning.

Will portion up the pasta bake and chicken once cool for lunches and freezer.

Never got to Lidl yesterday, been under the weather and couldn't be bothered, not gone today either. Did pop out and bought some Barley Sugar sweets (69p) and with no-spend yesterday, still got pennies left, lots of for the remainder of the month. Tried some toast today and starting to eat a little more, haddock out of freezer for tonight - would love to fry with chips, but may grill and have with new potatoes and peas - see how I feel at around 6pm and another dose of paractamols. lol

I didn't make it to lidl over the weekend.

went out for breakfast AND dinner last night! But thats it for a while now.

Lunches today were l/o indian from last night and sarnies for OH. Dinner was beef sausages out the freezer with chips and beans.

Have lifted chicken breasts out for tomorrow, but no sure what i'm going to do with them. Lunches are storecupboard pasta salad for OH and i've got l/o sausages with salad.

hope you feel better soon Lynsey.

Feeling better and spent a few £1's today - thank you.

Bought a few things today, fancied ham sandwich and bought some muffins from Morries and bread buns.
Need to use up swede carrots and onions before Thursday as I'm away for a few days - Nottingham and London - so will be eating out.
Think I'll do a casserole tomorrow, pork or chicken and need to use up a pack of pate - so pate on toast for breakfast.

Start again in October, but September has been a good month for food and grocery shopping (not including cleaning stuff and alcohol) and took advantage of loads of free stuff and near free stuff with coupons. October will be harder than September, but November will be a cinch as I'm on holiday for the 1st week.

Struggling to get anything worthwhile in Sainsburys now at silly bargain prices, just have to start using Lidl half-priced weekend meat offers again. Still got enough stuff in the freezers to get me through to the end of the year and just need ticking over.

Well, collected my son, minus my purse so didn't spend any money whatsoever!!!!

Really annoyed that I needed to buy milk though.

I used up part of a turkey crown this evening, one from the new year. My mum recoiled in horror when I told her what I had planned. It was ok and made a meal, plus I'm using the rest tomorrow to make a lentil and turkey soup thing.

Does anyone know if it's ok putting cooked meat in the slow cooker?

    It's forced on us. lol
Bought the pate on BOGOF (£1.39) and needs using by 30/09 or needs freezing...................already got 10 packets of pate frozen which I got for 5p per packet (bought later).......................if it had been one of those it would have gone in the bin...............but not a proper priced one............well BOGOF.............so half price. :D

It is nice toasted though.........I think warmed pate tastes much nicer than cold. Ended up taking pork steaks out, so pork casserole today - cook after breakfast.

i love pate on toast! Had it for breakfast last week!!

Just been meal planning for the next couple of days with freezer stuff, lunch is a fish pie ready meal (no one else will eat fish pie in our house so its not worth me making one) having homemade lasagne with veg from the garden tonight for tea. Then tomorrow, I have woopsied bread rolls to defrost for lunch boxes, and some ham to defrost too. Also sausage, bacon, waffles and fried eggs, beans and black pudding for tea tomorrow night. Baked yesterday so the kids have a choice of apple pies (had a big bag of apples given to me) or Twinks hobnobs.
By thursday morning my freezer should look a lot emptier! Good job its nearly October, then the new grocery challenge can start and I can go shopping! :)
