I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

Evening.
donnajt - I'm changing my foodbank to a Church this week. I just googled foodbanks in my area and picked one after reading about them.
I'll probably pop down on Wednesday and I'll be donating to a Niece on Tuesday. Gave a neighbour some stuff today.
ms_night_ryder - remember "Robina Hood"?? lol
"Taketh off the rich and giveth to the poor".
gailey - nice to see a post from you, did you ever get that printer??
Deleted_User - you've been busy - well done.
Deleted_User - good luck with that budget. I'm glad to be coming to an end now, but sad in a way. I've learned quite a bit this year, but still over-buy as I can't resist a bargain. Getting to know when your shop reduces stuff would be my top tip and buy loads and stash at 75% off, especially quality stuff. Coupons do help enormously.
I remember "talking" to Kirri earlier in the year about what we think we need to eat and what we actually need to eat - a budget can reduce your food intake.
Popped into Sainsbury's today to use some Beanz coupons and hopefully pick up some till spits - no till spits and I wonder if the ptinter had no paper?? Try again later in the week.
Bought:
2 x packs of 3 pork chops (reduced from £3 per pack) @ 99p = £1.98
Pack jumbo prawns (reduced from £3.29 pack) @ 69p
4 x Heinz 5 Beanz @ 2 tins for £1.50 = £3
Sub total = £5.67
Used 4 x Heinz coupons (scanned 85p each) - minus £3.40
Total = £2.27
Froze chops in 2's, so 3 cheap meals there and froze prawns.
Took out some sausages for tomorrow, have with mash, veg and onion gravy.
My food budget will be £10 this week, but forgot I also have the Nestle Factory Shop stuff to collect on Tuesday - they cancelled some chocolate bits, but still almost £20 spent. I'm still positive I'll stick to £60 for the 4 weeks even with the Nestle order. I'm hoping Lidl don't come up with anything unmissable, but will go over budget if needed.

I noticed in the new Tesco magazine that they will be taking donations for foodbanks on 1st and 2nd Dec.
Might be worth checking with your local T's to see if they are participating, we are planning to buy a few tins and things for it, as we havent done anything of the sort the last couple of years.0 -
well hubby's new job working nightshift has been helping us clear the freezers, 1: because we've been going bargain hunting less and 2: i've been cooking instead of him on his working nights and using stuff up from the freezer (as i'm not as adventurous a cook as him).
anyway took stuff out yesterday for his lunch break and our dinners for next couple of nights, then i had a disaster. the ys southern fried chicken meals i took out hadn't defrosted and the box of freezer surprise turned out to be venison stew which smelled whiffy when defrosting. so back to the drawing board and took out sausages & potato scone and had bacon, egg, sausage, potato scone and beans - que happy tummies:D
hope everyone is well and want to send big hugs to pamsdish x:love: married to the man of my dreams! 9-08-090 -
Evening all, well for brekkie oh made bacon, eggs, beans and toast for the kids. Lunch was roast pork with all the usual trimings. Everyone's just been snacking since on the usual. Not done anything today, except a quick scoot about with the hoover and all the other boring day to day jobs !!. The oh away fishing with ds, i sort of hope they don't catch anything as i can't be bothered dealing with it, obviously when they went i done my bit and wished them the best of luck and said i was sure they would catch something. It's their little thing, the girls and i have been a couple of times they like it during the day but at night they do nothing but moan about everthing but hey ho. Hope you have all had a great day.0
