Restocked kitchen cupboards, fridge and both freezers today - managed to knock the spend back by £15 after using various coupons and special buys, etc, all stuff we needed too.
Cleared the shelf of T's value sweetcorn (all 6 remaining tins lol) which will see me through 12 meals, also got y/s stuff - the guy at the frozen aisle was just doing second reductions when we got there, so got:
Cod and chip portions x 3 £3.50 reduced to £1.75 each
Large pasta bake with cheese and bacon topping £5.50 reduced to £2.75
Chili + rice prepack £3.75 reduced to £1.58
3 individual garlic cheese breads £2.00 reduced to £1.00
Large bag brussel sprouts £1.99 reduced to £1.09
Bag of parsnips £1.09 reduced to 59p
Apple and blackberry lattice pie £2.50 reduced to £1.25
Kingsmill 50/50 rolls £1.20 reduced to 65p
pasta bake has been separated into 3 portions and chili/rice prepack into 2 portions. they are now in the freezer to accommadate me for my after work meals along with the cod/chip portions, should see me through 2-3 weeks depending on amount of shifts.
Used coupon for free chocolate bar (59p), spam coupon (£1.00 so one tin was free), rosetta onions coupon (40p), nouvelle coupon (£1.00) bold gel coupon (£1.00), tesco super liquid coupon (£1.00), bavaria lager coupon (£1.00), kleenex facewipes coupon (50p), mushrooms coupon (30p), GU cheesecake coupon (£1.00).
:T All in all a very successful monthly shop.0 -
Just made the biscuits - very easy though maybe not cheap but I had everything in stock so more about using up things more than anything.
Used a whole tin of condensed milk up, whole bar of G&B org choc  bit of butter and SR flour and added some nuts as extra. Very nice but hate to think of the calories in them!!! Just eaten 2 so dinner may be somewhat delayed now....0 -
I've decided to try and stay true to the name of this thread. So with this in mind I defrosted a leg of lamb yesterday, cooked it and had it roast for tea yesterday. Today, sandwiches for my DH at lunchtime. I've used vegs in the fridge (carrots, celery, swede, sweet pots, parsnips) plus swiss boullion and Bisto best gravy to make 6 individual pies - using frozen pastry from the freezer. The left over bits, bones, stock and soup mix are now happily bubbling away as soup.
I've just defrosted five pieces of haddock and some (home) smoked mackeral so I'm going to do something similar with those tonight, thought peas, sweetcorn, cream, brocolli and maybe french beans, possibly potato topping - not sure yet.
Looks like I could have about 12 individual ready cooked meals from today's efforts.
There are plenty of times when I have to make different meals for my DH as he's allergic to tomatoes and tarragon, also he dislikes cooked cheese, rice and pasta. All of which I really like so to make batches of individual meals really works in this house.
Must get on with it all otherwise it will be feeling too late to start on the fish.0 -
Evening All, went shopping yesterday and spent way to much so the less said about thet the better probably. Well today had toast for breakfast with tea, everyone else had bacon or egg rolls, lunch was Sunday lunch chicken, roast tatties, stuffing, cabbage, carrot and neep mash, yorkies and gravy. Had homemade vegetable soup earlier so that's about it for today. Weather still rubbish here rain, rain and oh rain.0

Evening all, just put the lamb casserole in and having with hot bread.
Kirri - yes, a great freebie and with a decent date left to use. Tried the Greek style yoghurts today and thought they were very sweet.
Hope someone puts those WW meals on BOGOF ................... that would be my Xmas pressie. lol
Went to Sainsbury's and bought:
4 pints of milk @ £1.18
WW meal @ £3 (used £2.99 coupon), so almost free @ 1p
2 x Heinz 5 Beanz @ 85p (used 2 x 85p coupons) so free
Pack Kipling pies (reduced) @ 25p
Total for today = £1.44
Took out Lidl Kievs for tomorrow to get rid of and create a little space for sweetcorn later in the week. I'll definitely get the sugar tomorrow and I'll go to Aldi during the week for some cheap butternut squash.
Gave away quite a few tins of 5 Beanz today and some cereals I had stashed for Son, too many to send and it was payment for a boiler service, a bit of trading.
I'll do a foodbank donation later in the week and get rid of more cereals, beans and bits I've bought and bits I want rid of - should be a decent box of stuff this time.
Deleted_User - well done on the shop and coupon use.
BTW, how much is the value sweetcorn?? Possibility for foodbank stuff.
Booked my accommodation for next years hols - half-price studio offer and 14%+ cashback - 8 nights worked out at approx £12 per night (after cashback is received). Been before and great location, never got it this cheap before though even though they often have offers on. Hoping to book October (Costa del Sol) once easyJet flights come out.

Morning all, well this morning i had a fried egg sandwitch for, going to have soup in a while, then for dinner i am having meatballs and pasta maybe some crusty bread. The meat balls are the costco ones and they are really nice would recommend them. Not doing much today only a couple of bills to pay and try hard not to buy anything from the shop as i don't need anything. Weather is the same as normal !!.0

It's a promotion that seems to be going on at the moment, not sure when it finishes.
Basically you can buy any individual chocolate bar that says "1 in 6 free bars" (I forget the actual wording) on the front of the wrapper.
When you open the wrapper up (carefully does it!), it will either be blank inside with a message saying "sorry unfortunately you have not won this time" OR it will have a barcode with "congratulations you have won" + t&c's.
I managed to redeem mine in our big local T's as yesterday - the website does say where they are NOT being accepted so check before you go to the till.
This is the second bar I have won on this week lol.0 -
Belated good morning.
Had to go to Brothers early as he had a Dr's appointment and no shopping this morning.
Had coffee with a Kipling pie and a couple of digestives and chicken Kiev soon.
Maybe pop into Sainsbury's later, but will definitely shop tomorrow and off to Tesco - just printed another 4 Special K coupons - looks like it's bee re-set. That'll help with the next 2 Tesco shops.
I've got loads of coupons to use up, so will be couponing quite a bit from tomorrow.
Weather not too bad here for the time of year, just a bit on the cold side.
