Lynsey i think it's nice to help people personaly as then you can see the rewards iykwim, but at the same time food banks do need all teh help they can get so botha are good.

NSD today food so far has been toast, wheatbix and strawberrys, i'm going to have pizza for lunch again because yesterdays was just soooo nice, kids are having pasta for tea as i have half a jar that needs used, and when i get back from work me and hubby are having steak and chips with peppercorn sauce :) all from the freezer/cupboards :)

I'm surprised how empty my freezer looks but once i put lots of bread in it it won't look as empty but will go down quickly iykwim.

Will def be getting some more lidl pizzas for my freezer there yummy and cheaper than value ones :)

  • Can I just say, I have been reading this thread for months and months and I absolutely love reading about everyone's day and what they got out of their freezers and cupboards.

I have done this challenge myself recently and it's amazing how much you can save if you don't just keep buying food for the sake of it. I have even got my mum into emptying her 3 chocka freezers.

Keep up the good work :)

TheLincsEffect - welcome to the thread and good luck to your Mum and yourself.
You can save loads and you don't have to spend loads to get loads, if that makes sense. I haven't spent a lot this year, but have more food than ever in my life and that's through targeting offers and reduced items.

quintwins - I know what you mean and it's hard to decide. That's why we've decided to donate, wrong word really, give stuff to a family member and a friend and even neighbours/friends which we still do. Frees up a little cash per month, I suppose.

I'm thinking far too much of late and this morning I've decided to abandon my £100 November budget month and instead do a £60 4 week budget challenge starting from 4th November - 1st December. That should clear some space for Xmas bargains!!

Weather is not good today, had a peppering of snow .......................... must be nearly Xmas?? lol

Ahh thanks for the welcome, Lynsey. I know exactly what you mean, I spent £20 the other day on YS stuff alone and it filled about 5 big shopping bags, it was all stuff I needed and will use though. My 9 year old absolutely loves YS hunting! :)

Morning all, turned very wintry up here, not nice at all.

    Freebies yesterday:
    2 x Heinz 5 Beanz

    Bought:
    2 x Kerry Gold butter @ 2 for £2 = £2
    Crumble Mix @ 30p = 30p
    Jelly Babies @ 74p = 74p
    2 x wafer biscuits @ 29p = 58p
    Big D dry roasted nuts @ 99p = 99p
    Total = £4.61

Toast for breakfast, finishing off the pasta bake for my main meal and hubby is making a curry with some Quorn fillets - still got Quorn stuff left from veggie experiment!!

For those that haven't saved the Weightwatchers coupon to their pc, get it done quickly in case the coupon is pulled.
Another on of those crazy freebies (meals) and coupon valid until 31/12/12.
The Greek style yoghurts are only £1 per pack in Asda, so 50p with coupon.
    Post HERE

I'll try and get a few meals today and perhaps the yoghurts.
Popping to Aldi to get some carrots and parsnips and might go to M&S for some cakes.
I'm not sure which coupons will get used today, but if I'm passing Morries I'll be using some Tesco ones (Fairy), but maybe Monday??

Stay warm if you are having winter weather and have a great weekend.

  • Afternoon all.

Lynsey can ask about the free lenor? Could get some for my gram as i have 3 bottles, also the weight watchers coupon is great I got 2 meals yesterday, thai chicken and the chilli, I want to try.the sweet and sour and apparently the meals are 1.99 in w and you know I love to shop in w Lmao. The food also has quite long dates mine were 17th and 23rd nov, I will be all over london sun-Tuesday doing work, Monday's work is supermarket based I'm not kidding, in Mr t's, so in every shop I will use a coupon, also passing right by a lot of shops so freebies galore, forgot I need dustbin bags and washing pads this week as well.

I've had some chocolate cheerios only 2 portions left great freebie, also just made up the betty crocker cookie mix, just add water, they are fab and I have had 4 lol, also decided to make mini ones for my cousins party instead of a dish, so will get some more mix next week while it is still a 3rd off. Will have the.last of the salted fish and cabbage as a late lunch and I took out some sausages and a mozerella ball from the freezer, I will use up some of the veg mange tout, cabbage and some broccoli chopped up small, with some of the wholewheat pasta mixed with white and a tin of toms and the last Campbell's soup from last freebie coupon, i loved that coupon!

    http://www.supersavvyme.co.uk/triedandtested/landing-page.aspx

It's for Tesco and only free with the small 1/2 litre bottles which are £1. The £1 coupon may have to be manually put through, probably because it's meant to be for the larger size bottles, but never failed yet. You'll seel the one for Lenor Care in the list of coupons - reprint 2 per pc. Just tested it and it still works OK.

Had a busy day and need food before I tot up. lol

Not spent much on food this month or used up what I have got due to being on holiday. I had a couple of frozen left over meals this week.

Bargain of the day was a full size packet of Dorset cereals for £1.50. I buy various cereals and musli's and then mix them up in a big container, this time I had a big stock at home due to utilising the 3 for 2 deal on cereals in Waitrose a while ago. My cereals should hopefully last at least a month.

    Have a nice weekend.
No toiletries challenge, started 18/1/2010 - Putting £1 in my savings jar for every item that I use up. Pot 1 to 4 = £261. Pot 5=£23
