Morning all, cold and frosty here again, just don't seem to beable to get the washing hung outside for what seems like weeks. Well yesterday turkey steaks(lidl offer) came out and they all had that in sweet and sour sauce, i had macaroni cheese also took out a loaf of bread and some rolls. Today so far i have taken out 2 pork chops though have to think about what the kids will have maybe fish pie i think as it cooks from frozen.

THANKYOU! You have just reminded me I need to empty the dryer and unload the washing machine! Completely forgot about it!

dinner is freezer fodder. have dug out a large pack salmon fillets. doing the kids pasta, carrots and dolmio pasta sauce sachets with theirs. Not sure what we will have with ours but suspect honey mustard pots that I got reduced monday and some veg of some kind.

going away the first half of half term so need to empty fridge of perishables.

  • Evenin all!
well done to all remembered washing (too cold/damp to dry outside here!) and for all those looking forward to half term!
Still (by under £20 ) in budget for my xmas challenge just as long as I eat out of freezer/cupboards till then!
Out today: crackers, cheese ham and fruit for lunch plus yogurt
made up a cake and custard last night as OH craving it (not quite what he was craving I dont think but a good effort from what we had in the house! :rotfl: poor man! ;))
Tonight used up mince, 2 potatoes , 2 carrots and onion and sorry looking mushrooms in the fridge and made cottage pie - had some for dinner and I reckon enough to feed 2 for the next 2 days dinners (plus lunch!) at least! It was veggie mince which I dont think you can refreeze?....
Cupboards are packed but ordered and nothing needed at least till xmas cupboard wise! will be fresh stuff/meat if anything!
Also planning on a food bank drop or 2 before then as well!
  • Hey guys

Edwardia Mr s have all the lindt bars for £1.

I tried the white choc and strawberry one, its yum and now finished, I'm on and a moody cow at the minute, also £1 are the multi pack of kettle crisps, the medium grated cheese bags and also matchstix and betty crocker stuff is 3rd off, so I bought some cookies 94p just add water, been meaning to try them.

Will need a further 2 bags of cheese, trying to get the ingredients week by week, my cousin we are holding a suprise party for her, everyone is bringing a dish, I am making 3, so I will buy 1 ingredient a week, along with Christmas treats a d stuff for boxes lol.

Totally stuck to my plan today and will be having same tomorrow and take out a ready meal for dinner as I have Zumba.

I use frozen Quorn mince, make up a batch of bolognaise and refreeze it when cooked, not sure if you can or not though saying that but I've not had any ill effects so far!

Didn't eat much today, my flat got flooded out by the upstairs flat so had very small plate of tofu and veg stir fried for dinner which I'd already prepped pre flood and one small quiche for lunch, no bread as it had gone mouldy! Would normally have snacked a lot more had I the time though!!

Got a few more quiche, half a bit of cheese, butter and Quorn mince to use up before my vegan month starts  Not sure I am ready or in the mood to do it though so soon, so will see. Think I'd rather try it in January.

    Lamb Casserole out of freezer.
One of cupboards is now empty - whooooope - but several more to go.
Not making too much of an inroad into the freezers. Got some 'half price ducks' reduced to £2 each, I just had to fill my trolley so all my hard work of reducing the contents of a freezer has gone to pot.- sad.
