I believe the pears are only at Tesco Express. The staff wondered how we found out about the price. lol
Told them HDUK and they asked if we go on Martin's site. :rotfl:
Cheapest I've seen tinned pears in ages.

    Mouse:
Thanks for info, we normally use Mars Bar, but didn't want to open one.
The trap we bought was this type:

    £2.25 from Wilko's

Mice.. my mother lives right in the country and she was storing peanuts in the garage for the birds but mice got in, chewed through the plastic dustbin and swiped them all, making nests in the walls and behind old bikes etc. She caught over 80 with toffees on mousetraps before giving up and getting someone in to put poison down. Good luck with the mouse prob, it's horrid I know. (((Lynsey)))

Last night made moussaka with Sainsbos organic beef mince from the freezer and hope that's the last of it.

OH ate the Green & Black's organic chocolate ice cream I got on offer from Budgens which was supposed to be for Christmas  so as it's on offer at Ocado for £3 (saving 1.19) I have ordered more but I daresay he'll pig that too :(

Out of the freezer last night have come Daylesford organic chicken drumsticks (25% off at Ocado) plus free range pork mince. The Romertopf chicken dish was great success as OH loved it so may try another recipe with the chicken.

Have done an Ocado order for Saturday and saved 11.26 so I'm relatively pleased with myself as finding organic bargains let alone YS organic can be really difficult.

Hope you all have a good day and Quintwins I feel your freezer pain as mine conked out in December last year as well.

Mr s, got 5 beans, a bear thing and washlets £1 instead of 50p to pay. -_-

mr t express, 8 tins of pears, bottle of water and betty crocker pancake mix £2.25 to pay.

So i got back and hadnt eaten, so i have just had melon, strawberries and blueberries, yum, had the melon for a month and was going to throw it away yesterday, but decided to cut into it to see what it was like and it was o.k so very mse lol.

    Freebies today:
    12 x Heinz 5 Beanz
    4 x Reloaded

    Bought:
    2 x Sainsbury's Chinese Style Pork Belly Strips (300g) reduced from £2.49 to 50p = £1
    2 x small bloomers @ 2 for £1 = £1
    3 x packs naan bread reduced to 12p each = 36p
    Total = £2.36

Belly pork in freezer and loads of 50p frozen stuff, but got nowhere to put it!! Great value for 50p though.
Reloaded was £1 in Asda, Sainsbury's didn't stock the 500ml cans .......... sadly.

quintwins - I'll have a look at that trap at the weekend if the little bu99er is still alive. lol

    Hi everyone,

Been to the dentist today to have a filling replaced and feeling rather rough now and needing bed. Still not sleeping well :(.

Kids complained yesterday about having more casserole so had fishcakes, chips and peas instead (out of peas again) and then had the casserole today. Only a small portion left now and I will probably eat that for lunch tomorrow.

We are having HM bhuna, rice, naan and bhajis. I only want a bit though. More freezer space made (but only a bit!).

Not shopping till weekend lidl deals on Saturday - after kievs, peppers and cheese.
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

  • Hi and Welcome Always after a bargain and just trying!!

Lynsey - sorry about your mouse but I second what Quintwins said about the humane traps - we had mice a few years ago and they worked fine for us.

Katskorner - (( )) sorry about your broken nights - I get like that too but I tend to nod off at about 6am and then can't get up! I went to the dentist today too - I had a root canal done about a week or so ago, and she put a dressing into the tooth and told me to come back for her to put the permanent one in today. Well - when she started drilling a load of pus and blood came gushing out and she said there was an abscess (I have been living on paracetamol and codeine for the pain) and so she had to do loads more drilling and poking and then put another dressing in - ugh!!

Bought some sausages today but otherwise no spending. I went to Sainsburys last night but no reductions - I got some fruit and veg juice (2 for £2.50) and it is really very nice! The red grape and beetroot is lovely! Hope its good for me.

I didn't have any breakfast as was going to the dentist, and then for lunch I had Knorr thick veg soup (from my store of sachets which I got reduced a while ago) and a cheese and coleslaw sandwich, then mid afternoon I had some greek yoghurt and berries and for tea I cooked the sausages with egg, chips and beans, but I could only eat about half of it as I was really full up.

DD is coming home from University tomorrow for the weekend so I am expecting bags and bags of washing!!

got some £5 off £50 shops in Waitrose in the post today so will go up there on Saturday to see if there are any bargains.

Lynsey, thanks for the heads up, i saw it at 9pm, so sent my cousin and her flatmates a message and they used it too :) i got a dome shaped umbrella with mine, i'm hoping it will fare better than the one i bought from sports direct for 2.99 it lasted all of a day, the wind totally recked it, im hoping the dome shape will help with the wind.

Edwardia, i saw on the other thread you were talking about quality street, sainsburys have a tin for 4 or 5 quid supposidly half price at the moment and tesco's have the big boxes for £2.19 half price also at the moment.

I myself am waiting for the celebrations to be a decent price, i was sent a £3 voucher for a complaint, hoping to get free chocs lol.

Havent taken anything else from the freezer, but have put the mash in, both packs, i really need some veg, was near lidl today but, i had 10 tins plus other stuff in a bag, its a 20 min walk and i didnt feel like carrying anything else.

Off out tomorrow, got a job to do in a college, hopefully won't take more than and hour, got to submit my p50 at the tax office and then italian dinner with the girls, not so mse lol, but with all my coupon saving it's not too bad. in between that time, i will be nipping into morries, i pass 2 mr s and huge mr t's so will be popping in for whatever is free, i want to get some reloaded 8 cans for my little cuz and her student mates lol, it will be appreciated, might pop 2 or 3 in my uncles christmas hamper box, none for red cross, somehow i doubt they would appreciate it lol.

Speaking of red cross the box is now full x 10 beans, x 4 pears, x 3 cuppa soup sachets, x 2 chilli paste, x 5 small mars bars, sachet of custard powder, x 1 rice pudding, x 1 pack of oatcake biscuits,x 1 fajita seasoning from oep glitch,x6 greens assorted, x 6 mini soaps from boots (a gift i dont want lol) x 2 bottles of vitamin c tablets, from vitamins glitch lol

What do you guys think? will that be o.k? then i can concentrate on the next box, for november, will be giving that box on monday 1st oct.
