  • Morning all - it is raining cats and dogs here today!! DD2 is going away to the caravan with her Dad later on today, for the week so I hope things improve weather-wise!

Lynsey - I had one of the Linda McCartney plaits for tea last night and it was absolutely delicious!! I will definitely get more while the offer is on. Well done on the YS stuff!

Bramble - hope the hangover is better!

Edwardia - good luck with the decorating. Do you know if Laverstoke Park is the one that Jodie Schecter (ex formula one driver) runs in Hampshire? I saw him on Rick Stein's Food Heroes the other day but it didn't name his farm.

Feeling a bit sick because elder daughter made some peanut butter cookies last night and I can't stop eating them!! They are soooooooo delicious. They are just 200g caster sugar mixed with 260g peanut butter and 1 egg. You just mix it all up and then drop teaspoonfuls on a baking sheet and bake for 8 minutes at 180. OMG they are wonderful!! There is only two left now so once they are gone I will be able to relax:o

Lunch today is carrot and cheddar soup for me and don't know what for DD1, and dinner will be jacket potato and the last of the five bean chilli for me and chicken or burgers, salad and wedges for DD1.

I need to go to Sainsburys as I want to get some more LM plait thingies, plus some Cravendale, and I might get some bread rolls, to save having to make them - plus they are less tempting to eat!

My friend is still driving me nuts! She keeps buying all this food but she has started not eating hardly anything as she says she needs to lose weight. Yesterday she only had two boiled eggs all day, and she has started walking for 10 miles each day too. I really think she has got some kind of problem but she gets really defensive if I say anything to her. She has lost about 3 stone in the last two months, which is quite excessive I think.

Hope you all enjoy the Bank Holiday!

You deserved a hangover, did you kill somebody or something? :rotfl:
Edwardia, You are all heart. :p:rotfl:
I feel all wierd today and I can't get moving. I think it is because I had a lie in. I am always up by 6.30am but today it was after 8am. :o

Bramble - hope the hangover is better!

:rotfl: Thanks Edwardia - I'm fine today! Ready to get back on that vodka horse!! Nearly fine anyway....was getting soya milk and couldn't resist getting chicken dippers and I still feel the need to just sit on my sofa and veg with a homemade alternative of KFC...:o

I deserved one, because I've not had a hangover in months, so it was coming. Hopefully I get away with some more hangover free weekends in the future!!

Laverstoke farm is next to my dad's house! He gets really excited when he see's the baby buffalos. Haven't had a bad thing from there so far. Their wild boar burgers are delish!

What did you think of the black pudding Edwardia? I love it with Brown sauce yum yum!

Our fridge is bare so I've had to take out bacon as its the only meat we have for sandwiches! Sausage roll also out & some birthday cake that has been in there a wee while! 3escalopes & chips out for dinner last night.

Really really need to do something with last weeks YS carrots i keep looking at the in the hope that they'll cook themselves. No luck yet lol!

    bramble1 - I was joshing ya ..

Baby buffaloes sound seriously cute. I love wild boar, I will put that on my Laverstoke Park Farm list. Soil Association members get 10% off on orders from the website but freezer still too full tight now.

Jane - yes, Jody Scheckter owns Laverstoke Park Farm, it's in Hampshire not far from Basingstoke. www.laverstokepark.co.uk There's a shop in Richmond and I've seen stuff in Waitrose, Sainsbury's and on Ocado.

So far I've tried lamb and mint burgers (unimpressed very dense like meat bricks), buffalo burgers (gorgeous gorgeous), Mozzarella (good) organic bacon (bland grey rashers half the size of Waitrose/Sainsbury's) and have more stuff in freezer to try.

He must have invested a huge amount of money into it, very impressive farming operation.

Ocado has got Laverstoke Park Farm pork chops on special offer massively reduced btw

I'm off to clean that £4 brass Turkish tea set I got in boot fair !

big hugs to all you're a great bunch xxx

    I've been Money Tipped!
Afternoon all to a cold Bank Holiday.
Heating is on today, 1st time it's been on in ages!!!

Jane - thanks for the Linda Mc opinion, I'll get some to try and maybe for Son if/when he comes "home".
That is some weight-loss by your friend!!

bramble1 - hope your hangover eases - hope you had a great day though to suffer that much. lol

miss_emmajane - thanks for thr kitchen roll tip. I'd imagine it would work with other soft fruit??

Edwardia - do you pick up much from the fairs??

NSD and no intended shopping at all, though sometimes good bargains on a BH.

Had toast for breakfast, burger onions and egg for lunch and another garlic prawn stir fry tonight.
Short on onions now, but have 2 bags of diced onions in freezer I froze a while back.

It's been a week since I did the last reduced shop and I desperately need to do a shop today - even the freezer food's getting a bit sparse! I'm not sure what time to go :undecided Normally I get there for about 7:40 ready for the reductions, but because of the bank holiday my local one is now closing at 6.

heating Lynsey really?! wow! That's worse than me and I'm always cold! warm up soon!

Bank Hol hasn't been too wet but it has been miserable and overcast :(

Was so tired after the soup making that I had a bath, had a snooze and had to trust OH to do the food shopping. I did make a detailed list which he mostly stuck to but still spent £30

In cupboard news, I finished a box of cereal. No other updates just bread & crumpets in the freezer temporarily for this week.

Going out for dinner tonight so nothing more out of the freezer.

Hope all had a good day off :)

Done the shopping :j got there for about 4:20 I think and they were just reducing the bread items, then we were still there as they were reducing more fresh stuff, so we did pretty well. Spent about £25, but £9 of that was on household things/toiletries that we needed, so not bad I don't think :)

Cold and rainy bank holiday here too! Had a relaxed day including a sleep in until 11am which is super unusual for me as I am a early bird but I had some toast late last night and it some how set me off with energy ... I was cleaning out the fridge/cleaning the kitchen at midnight. Oops!

Bought some tea bags and other bits in Tesco, and used a couple of coupons for some free food items which is always nice :) We've cleaned up and I have packed our lunches for work tomorrow so the rest of the bank hol can be chilled out - not sure what we're having for tea yet - probably pull something out of the freezer.

Hope everyone has had a nice bank hol, whatever the weather
