ms_night_ryder, taking a tea break .. no biscuits though
You sound really organised, well done
I think of the UK magazines House and Garden and Ideal Home are best and of the US ones Better Homes and Gardens and Southern Living. Better Homes and Gardens has a good website https://www.bhg.com and I like https://www.hgtv.com too0 -
Great bargains today and I could have half-filled a small freezer with stuff from Tesco today and I think one family probably did!!
2 people reducing and Mother at one and Daughter at other taking as much as they could grab.
I managed to get:
2 packs of choritzo sausages (2.50 each) @ 50p each = 50p (2 for £4.50 and knocked 50p off) lol
2 packs Richmond sausages (£2.65 each) @ 53p each = £1.06
Quiche = 60p
2 packs Lurpak (2 for £2)
Total = £4.16
Sainsbury's:
2 packs skinless cod fillet (was £4 each) @ 99p each = £1.98
Desiree potatoes (was £2) @ 10p = 10p
Large pineapple (was £2) @ 29p = 29p
Button mushrooms (was 78p) @ 10p = 10p
Pack of 4 egg custard tarts (was £1) @ 24p = 24p
Total = £2.71
Days total = £6.87
Bad start of the week regarding budget, but lots for it.
Tesco were reducing everything with 80% off and will have to try a Sunday afternoon again.
Not much needed this week, just a little bread and some veg.
Just having a coffee and egg tart.

We went to sainsbugs at the usual time this afternoon but they hadn't even started the fruit and veg markdowns. Nothing much on the meat, or rather nothing that tempted me to break my 'not buying anything' determination. I did get nearly a kilo of haddock loin for just under £6. We got milk, fruit juice (none reduced so forced to pay full price) squash, cat litter etc and they still hadn't started on the f & v so we just left it. We went to the market yesterday so we have loads in so should be okay. I also just found that the one lot of apples in the garden look ready, One actually fell off when I knocked it - so OH might just have to eat lots of apples. I checked and think the plum tree has about four on it, still the last few years we have had loads so I can't complain.I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

Yes, I just fold up a piece of kitchen roll and slot it under the top of the lid. It works great :T
Today we used up some items and bought our fresh stuff for the coming week - got OH's favourite Yeo Valley yoghurts from Tesco as they are £1.25 on offer (packs of four pots) and got fruit & veggies from ALDI. Think I might sail through the next week but after that it might take more thought & creativity but also hoping my placement petrol expenses will come in on Friday which will give me some extra spending money
Hope everyone has had a nice day! :beer:0 -

Lifted out my 70p Pizza Express pizza for lunch/dinner today. Was SO hungover yesterday I only managed some toast.
SO near to payday, so plan to just buy soya milk and nothing else.
I am CRAVING chicken though, I feel like I haven't eaten a great deal of meat in a long time!
Planning a massive food shop next week, maybe get my month's food in one go and stick out of the shops for while.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Morning,
Bramble, I swear by chocolate as a hangover cure.
I have pulled out 3 types of fish today. Some YS coley, YS cornish hake and YS smoked haddock. I will make them in to a fish pie for dinner and serve with brocolli.
Breakfast is YS lemon and raisin pancakes with fromage frais. Lunch I am undecided yet, I really feel like a take away so I might recreate KFC wraps.
No shopping today unless I look for YS later and they have something I can't refuse.:D£36/£240

Soworried - I couldn't even keep water down! I literally just had to lay still with my eyes closed for the best part of the day!! Normally diet coke and mini cheddars see's me right. BUT I've not had a hangover in a long time, so deserved it!!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

GOOD MORNING BRAMBLE1 HOW'S THE HANGOVER ?! :j Sorry couldn't resist shouting
You can tell me to
;)
I haven't had more than two sips of whatever OH is trying in months. Alcohol destabilises my blood sugar
NSD for me. Thankfully Abel & Cole turned up a tad earlier today cos I'm hungry and need grub before painting. I'm trying Laverstoke Park Farm organic Black pudding - never had Black pud before.
ms_night_ryder - the lamb scrag, from Laverstoke Park Farm, turned up sliced into rounds which I've not seen before. Not sure what they think I'm supposed to do with it like that..
I hope everyone has a nice sunny day. Just think, some of the schools go back next week and the shops will be less crowded0 -
