Mmmmm Asparagus, love blueberries, what do you do? just put the kitchen towel on top?

Edwardia, i have just spent 30 mins on abel and cole lol, toying with an order i dont really need, plus its a tad expensive, may do it in the winter when i dont fancy going out, but need fruit and veg, its great because the delivery is free with £10, whereas most place are way higher.

Just eaten the pie and chips, which was lovely! glad i picked up 2 when they were whoopsied, also took out the whole chicken, was relieved to see its without giblets, will cover in jerk seasoning tomorrow before i put it in the oven, will have with the remainder of the potatoes roasted and some farmhouse veg and sweetcorn, running really low on veg, can survive for a few more days, also have minimal fruit, will go to mr s tomorrow see what i can get.

Need to think of some dishes to do with the chicken, its alot for me, will strip some and freeze, but not all of it, i have a roll of herby puff pastry in the freezer, may make a chicken plait or something on the monday.

Way more space in the freezer now, i have rearranged things and can fit more in the meat drawer, but not all of it, but i am progressing, would rather have a lot of meat anyway.

Soworried - I personally wouldn't go "daft" on the Lidl mild cheese.
Tried it today and it was pretty tasteless, but topped the cottage pie with it and it was ok.
I think I'd rather buy "whoopsied" cheese and freeze for cooking TBH.

Edwardia - I wish I could have obtained the pensioners bill to post, it really was unreal and as if it was a "meant-to-be" moment.

Anyone know if I can still get the £5 Aldi voucher? Was it in a paper. I didn't take much notice as I wasn't planning on going but as it's just fresh stuff I need I might go tomorrow as I like the F&V from there better than the big supermarkets.

    A few reductions tonight:

    2 x packs of ham sandwiches @ 10p per pack = 20p
Pack of bacon rasher fries thingys = 50p
Boil in bag kippers = 34p
    Organic mushrooms = 29p
    Total = £1.33
    Days spends = £12.67
    Weeks spends = £24.68

Only 2 more weeks to go at being frugal and then the shackles are of and I can get a "pay rise" to get me through to the end of the year (16 weeks of bliss!!).

I've got a portion of cottage pie for tomorrow, trying to get hubby to eat a biryani.

*** I've just posted a challenge to find the best reduced food item. Anyone up for it??

Hope everyone is well. Was sunny here 7am but gone now :(

NSD for me. Going to start doing pre DIY prep today as starting tomorrow. OH and I were watching 'Million Dollar Decorators' on YouTube last night to get in the mood.. OMG they were soo biatchy !!! Martyn Lawrence Bullard makes me giggle but OH can't stand him. Ross Cassidy is gorgeous.. nearly as yummy as Jackson Rathbone.

I had (organic) cornflakes for the first time in over two years this morning, because until Abel & Cole comes tomorrow we have no eggs or yoghurt. Tasteless soggy yuck sorry !

    Morning all.

Edwardia i need to take your advice and watch a decorating program, i am supposed to be painting my bedroom, but i'm still in bed! lol, got audits to do later.

I took out the chicken from freezer for dinner, so i'm going to have a pie and chips for lunch, also i'm going to put the chicken in as well, i will also take out the apple crumble from the freezer and use the box of custard from cupboard, so that's all from the freezer, will pop some part baked rolls in the space. I'm guessing i will be having chicken sandwiches this week, so the last pack of rolls that aren't frozen will be used, i may make some chicken pasta tomorrow, that will get rid of some chicken and some pasta, i find the breast really dry, so i try to use it in something quite wet.

I'm waiting for there to be space in my meat drawer, i want to buy the mr t's ham 3 for £10 going to save 1 for christmas, i usually only cook half of 1 at a time in the slow cooker with some apple juice , though it doesnt last long lol.

Lynsey great challengge, i don't go whoopsie shopping often enough to join.
