I meant to say, I've made honeycomb a lot of times without the thermometer and turned out great. Followed a simple Nigella recipe. Might make some more yum!

One golden syrup out of the cupboard and another soon to follow, I had opened one when one was already open! Doh! One packet of noodles out of the cupboard too. Really love them yum!

Sequeena - Bless you for asking, I am much better today thank you, keep having a blip about once per week but felt particularly bad yesterday. Sorry about your cat :( Hope she comes back soon :)

Think I might get sausages and bacon out with a tin of spaghetti hoops (can't bear beans) and use some eggs for dinner tomorrow night with buttered toast. Haven't had a breakfast dinner in ages :D That'll use up lots of food too :D

I ve not tried to use two lots in the same transaction Lynsey. I am thinking of using the vouchers then just making the spend up with a bottle of vodka as a treat. :) And any spare money on flour and sugar and things.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Looks like they may take 2 sets of coupons and the £5 off £35, I've just asked on the Newspaper thread.
I'm going to try and put a list together, add some wine and beer which won't come out of my food budget. lol

Off to Sainsbury's to get the 2nd paper and check any "whoopsies".

Used up a few more bits today - last chicken kiev, and last of a box of Quorn sausages with the YS tender step broccoli I bought yest from Morrisons. Really enjoying using up the food we have and getting fresh bits from the reductions in Morrisons.

Went this eve and got some more lychees (I wish these were reduced!) as I have only just realised they sell them and couldn't find them all summer! Also got lots of reduced bread, cheese straws and doughnuts. Paid £2.52 in total and the lychees were £1 - came out with a bag full. Plus we walked there and back so didn't use any petrol and got to go on the swings at the park next door :D

Last day in my uni placement tomorrow, then three days off so going to write a list for fruit/veg/yoghurts and get those from ALDI on Sun or Mon :)

Hope everyone has had a nice day!

  • Just got back from buying 2 Daily Mirrors - thanks to this thread!!

I didn't think that you could use the 50% off in the same transaction as you used the £5 off.

While I was out i got another two tins of 5 beans - I think that they might be okay in a veggie curry with lots of onions and chilli and a bit of ketchup, with mango chutney and naan bread.

Had rice with peas and sweetcorn for tea - I was going to make something more substantial but I was late in from work, my toothache was really bad and I made steak to go with the rice for the kids and couldn't be bothered to do anything extra for me.

Payday tomorrow:j will be going shopping but am hoping to be quite restrained.

Squeena - I do hope that you find your cat.

  • Evening all.

Went to Zumba, decided earlier that I would probably be too tired when I got back to make anything, so i made wholwheat pasta, used up some carrots, to sausages out of skins and.rolled them into meatballs, three per sausage made loads, so i popped some in the container the beef is in, this will be added to a jambalay I am planning to make, added frozen farmhouse veg and a Campbell's chicken soup and seasoned with fried onions, tomatoes, chilli powder, garlic powder and paprika, was Yummy, there is enough left for another 2 or 3 portions, even though I held back on the pasta.

In my cupboard now, is only 3 and a bit packs of wholwheat, down from 12, have given some away, but i also have a big 3 kg bag of white pasta, now I realise I only eat pasta once in a while, only made it because of the pasta whoopsie I had was so nice lol.

Pasta for lunch tomorrow, i am out for a meal with my friends in the evening, oh yes, i have a portion of leftover blueberries and melon, that and a smoothie for breakfast.

Cat found. She snuck back in at some point then hid in a kitchen drawer. Who knows how long she was in there.

Sequeena - Glad your kitty was found. It made me chuckle that she was sitting in the drawer nonchalantly whilst you were worried sick! Poor you, glad she is back :)
