I'm looking on the travel lodge website but it's sooooo slow, and i suppose i don't really need a room anywhere it would just be nice to have a break. Still there slow website saved me a few pennies.

Made a big pot of veg soup using my whoospies and the kids are slurping away at it as i type, just aswell they gota healthy lunch since they requested marmadale sandwichs for breakfast, that still counts as healthy right it has oranges in it and never did paddington any harm lol.I had a pot noodle i don't like broth. dinenr is going to be bacon, mash and beans, so the only thing out today was a packet of bacon and a pot noodle.....not also nothing in :)

Might even let the kids finish off the ice cream for pudding then thats even more space cleared :)

  • popped into Asda for milk and got a tub of clover for £2 (kg), plus 2 cans of the 5 beans. My sister will like them plus, even though I don't like them I can't resist the idea of free food!!

Had leftover veggie cheese bake from last night for lunch - it was even nicer today. Dinner tonight is pork chops for kids and veggie burger for me.

The other day I had the linda McCartney sausages which I'd got in sainsburys a while ago for £1 but note that they are now £1.89 - does anyone know where you can get them cheaper? They are really nice!

ammonite - hope you feel better. (((squeena)))

  • Ammonite and squeena - hope you both feeling better soon.
Small spend for some more lettuce and tomatoes, reduced aberdeen angus burgers and sirloin steak - all reduced, last two in the freezer.

Nice to donate the cat food.
Taking out of your cats budget though?? Naughty, naughty. :naughty::naughty: :rotfl:
I've had to have a rethink, I mentioned it to them and they pointed out that it was one of their facebook accounts I used to get the second lot of vouchers.:rotfl:
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

  • Afternoon all.

Popped out to post office and mr t's got ys strawberries tf, daim mikado, a vanilla candle, 2 5 beans, a tub of nesquik, 3 pack of white magnums for the total of £4.59 well pleased, calculated if it was full price would have been £12+

I love York and Yorkshire, my husband has never been - I wonder if we could get some cheap rooms there next March...will have to investigate :D

OUT of the freezer - 2 sausage rolls for lunches tomorrow and a naan bread to go with the curry that is already out.

IN to the freezer - numerous items that were being housed in my Mum's freezer that I'd forgotten about. All cooked up meals which is good. Almost convinced we have enough food until the end of October now bar fresh items.

Thanks for all the good wishes, feeling a bit chirpier now but feel like I'm coming down with something...hopefully a darned good sleep will sort me out :D

blackandwhitebunny - I love that your cats have facebook accounts :D

Sequeena - Hope your poorly baby gets better soon :(

No shopping day here - AND I managed to save the YS donuts from going into the freezer. Because I ate all five since last night :o :rotfl:

I'm wondering if they have Swiss bank accounts as well. :D

NSD (food-wise), but went to M&S shop and M&S Outlet.
Got 2 cardi's for only £2.49 each in the Outlet and a top for £13 (almost half-price) in the M&S sale.
I have to agree with some of the tv comments regarding M&S range - some of it's pretty drab and old fashioned - more like BHS rather than M&S. I much prefer the Outlet shop and wade through the clearance items.
I did look at the cakes though. lol

Took out some lardons for tomorrow - pasta with blue cheese sauce topped with lardons and the juice. Probably have the last garlic baguette with it. Pear crumble to finish also.
One more bar of chocolate gone .................... oh, and the Jelly Babies. :o

  • Another good day - used up another porridge sachet, cereal, tuna, white pasta (last of packet, hurrah for having brown pasta again!), passata tub, last of the meat free meatballs and some spaghetti.

Fridge is looking sparse again but I think I prefer that to it being jam packed as there are only two of us here eating the food. Went to Ms this evening and got reduced asparagus, long stem broccoli, Quorn sandwich meat, bread buns and two packs of lychees - paid £3ish for all of them. Sorted for our veggies with our evening meals until Sat now :)

  • Daim Mikado?? How did I not know about these???

Had my veggie burger on half a roll, with onions and mushrooms and wedges for tea - it was really nice. did pork chops for kids and elder one moaned that she wasn't getting veggie burger - if I had done her veggie burger she would have gone mad!

I am just in the middle of writing my shopping lists for Friday - I will go to Aldi, Sainsburys, Farmfoods, Asda and Tesco. They are all within a three mile radius of my house so it isn't that bad - just fiddly trying to get the shopping lists done so I don't miss bargains.

I will have a look on the Travelodge website but last time I got us two nights near to Winchester and I have to say that the room was like Ann Frank's Attic - never again! I have a real phobia of hotel rooms - it is getting worse as I get older - I just can't stand the thought of not knowing who has slept in the bed before me - mad I know but ....

I have had toothache on and off for a few days and lsat night it kept me awake so I have made an appointment at the dentist - had to wait until Tuesday though. I paid megabucks for a big filling last month and it is that tooth that is hurting again.
