Had a good day here, used up:
1 x porridge sachet, 1x pitta with last of turkey, 1x tin of tuna, 3 x fish fingers and a tin of marrowfat peas.
Went to ALDI to buy 3x tins of tuna for the rest of my placement lunches this week - works out cheap with pasta, cucumber & light mayo but also fills me up until I get home. Popped into Morrisons across the road and got some blueberries reduced to 45p which can go with my porridge for the rest of the week (ran out of them yesterday and wasn't going to buy more full price until next week so was happy with that). Didn't buy anything else, just the tuna and blueberries - getting quite good at buying only good reduced items and the exact items on my list0 -
hi everyone - hope you are all not as hot as me - I think it is definitely the start of the menopause because it comes over me all of a sudden and I go all sweaty - my hair is constantly wet!
Still haven't been shopping:j Managed to get through today using a pack of beanfeast with some penne for lunch and used the rest of the penne to make a vegetabe and pasta cheese bake for my tea, and did the kids chicken breasts and oven chips with salad. There is enough pasta bake to last a couple of days for lunches for me which is good.
Did I tell you all that I am trying to be a vegetarian? I will still eat fish I think, but I don't want to eat meat, particularly pork. I have downloaded a load of recipes from the Good Food website and I will definitely make the carrot and cheddar soup tomorrow - am really looking forward to it!
lynsey and others using the 5 beans coupon - I don't care how cheap they are they are VILE!! I bought some and have tried to put them in various dishes but they just have no taste and the sauce is watery (IMO of course).
Katskorner and Squeena - thinking of you both at this difficult time.
cupboards and freezer are getting low - I have been doing a shop on my supermarket in preparation for payday - did you know that they do cashback on there now?Jane
ENDIS. Employed, no disposable income or savings!0 -
Jane - I won't be eating the beans, they're for my Son's hamper. lol
The value for myself was the coupons scanning at 85p for a 50p tin of beans.
Good luck with cutting out the meat, good that you are keeping to fish - makes life a little easier. I would find it really hard to be a "veggie", but my Son manages it easily.
ms_night_ryder - well done on getting those beans - shame they've changed the date, but still time to stock up.
Some great bargains all, well done.
Went back to Sainsbury's and got another 5 tins of beans and bought:
3 separate transactions.
5 x Heinz 5 beans = £2.50
Pack of 6 polo mints (half-price) = 99p
Bag of Jelly Babies (half-price) = 74p
Bag of Choc Eclairs (half-price) = 74p
Vivaldi potatoes (reduced) = 19p
Sub total = £5.16
Used 5 x 85p coupons (minus £4.25) - total = 91p :j
Days total spend = £2.21
Got a few bags of cheap sweeties for all my efforts.
Got quite a few potatoes now and may freeze some tomorrow (possibly wedgers).
Got to use last of pears tomorrow, so I'll do a crumble.
Need to sort meat dish in the morning.

I'm going to give the beans a try one day, i was planning of giving some away anyway, to my uncle who is on benefits, my grandma and the red cross, if i dont like them, they can have loads lol.
I have started to think about christmas, i have decided i am going to do my uncle a hamper of stuff i get for free lol, also last year i gave the red cross at christmas a big bag of food, it was a massive 99p store bag and the handle broke on the way, thats how heavy it was, they were really grateful for it, so i am thinking of doing the same again this year, they got all sorts of freebies, choc oranges, rice pudding, jelly, custard, fajita kits, cans of oep beans, wholewheat penne pasta, campbells soup, there was loads of it, when i gave it to the woman, she said thank you loads and said that the cupboard was running low, so this was perfect so close to christmas, i felt really good that day, so i am eager to do it again. this was all stuff i got for free last year from coupons and glitches, even the pasta as i got it during oep glitch which paid you to take things away lol.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

(((Kat))) and (((caz)))
Thanks everyoneThey say things comes in threes and now the baby has a bad belly. Emergency baths were needed for me and him at 1am. He's still eating and drinking as normal though. Think it may have been the mayo we had the other day (cod fillets topped with mayo, cheese and breadcrumbs with mash and veg). Then again he had mayo a few weeks back with tuna and pasta and was fine. Hmm.
Today I did a potato bake and used up more sausages and veg from the freezer. 500g turkey mince for £1.50 in Tesco earlier.
Will be back to the vet in the morning, the cat seems a little 'off'Wife and mother :jGrocery budget

Morning - looks like quite a nice day ................. so far.
Edit: spoke too early ............ another "grey day"!!
Sequeena - you're suffering at the moment, hope you're right about "coming in threes" and that's it. Hope you and little one are well.
ms_night_ryder - I appreciate what you are doing with the stuff you get free etc and agree it makes you feel good giving the stuff away. Hoping for lots of coupons between now and Xmas and I might make up a hamper myself and take to somewhere that would appreciate it (great idea) - hope they like Heinz 5 beans!!
No beans shopping today!!!!
I need to search for best spread offer as running low, but quite enjoy using butter of late - I don't might paying £1 for decent tasting butter.
Just toast for breakfast (with butter) and take out some meat (possibly lamb cutlets/chops).
I'll be "stripping" later ........................ got to get that wallpaper off ready for decorating. lol
