    I've been Money Tipped!
Morning all from another grey day here in the NE.

Soworried - you mentioned Cullercoats the other week - it's their "Harbour Day" this weekend - how sad they aren't getting decent weather!!!!!!
We were thinking of a walk along the coast today ................. might put it off until the "summer"!!

NSD yesterday - that was the easy one, today will be more difficult - but determined to succeed.

Cheese on toast for breakfast and settled on (eventually) a stir fry with garlic prawns for main meal. Just enough frozen sweetcorn left and that is a must next week. Got a little ice-cream to finish and I'll replace that with the Lidl Mackays offer next week.

Sequeena - hope you are well as long with everyone else.

    Have a great weekend.

Not sure what to have to eat tonight, our guests now can't make it and I was cooking a meal for 6 so I won't really be able to do the same for the two of us as it isn't very freezable. I might do sausage patties (cooked & frozen), eggs, bacon, spaghetti instead - I was going to do it mid-week but it is actually more faff than I can handle after work (I like a 3 minute microwave batch cooked meal after work!). The eggs need to be used soon too. Yes I think I'll do that and get home made pork escalopes out for me.

2 donuts and a chocolate danish OUT too.

Recovering_spendaholic - Good luck with the No shopping for the week!

Lynsey - Good luck with NSD

Sequeena - Hope you are ok xx

Thankyou Lynsey, If it brightens up I might have a drive over with the kids. :) The only problem with that is I always end up spending in MrM's if I do. We only have a little one here so I always end up going mad when I pass the big one at Byker. :D

Cheddar and carrot soup has come out for lunch with some buns. A carbonnara sauce has come out for dinner. I need to start using up some pasta.
I have 1 empty draw now out of two freezers. :j

Shame I am going to fill it with the Lidl half price pork joints. :rotfl:

It was 27C at 10am this morning :D OH had to dash to ASDA for organic mushrooms cos we'd run out and they actually had some (faint) and only 86p. I love it hot (but not humid) although I never sunbathe.

Freezer is starting to go down but not as much as I thought it would. Problem is I haven't seen much worth nabbing to fill it up again. :(

Hope everyone has a great day, pref NSD unless filled with great bargains ;)
  • Another very dull but very hot and humid day here!

Squeena - hope you are okay.

DD1 didn't take the leftovers for lunch and I don't fancy them so I will try and palm them off on younger DD! I got up too late for breakfast and am just about to make some lunch - do't know what to have though as I am too hot and grumpy!

Got the chicken out for tonight and will probably made a hm pizza to go with it as DD's friend is here for tea. I will make the pizza dough in the breadmaker later.

Soworried - cheddar and carrot soup sounds lovely - did you make it yourself and if so, what did you put in it?

Should be an NSD today (fingers crossed)

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend!

Mmm I agree, cheddar and carrot soup sounds lovely ! I have loads of carrots and loads of cheese. Found this recipe online which I might give a go later:

Not sure what to have this evening now. We used 6 of the eggs for breakfast so it might be egg overload if we have a cooked breakfast for our evening meal :rotfl:

Nothing is particularly calling my name from the freezer or cupboards. Hmm decisions decisions !

EDIT: Actually that is a huge lie, I've got beef stroganoff out for hubby and BBQ chicken out for me. Will have to have it with rice or pasta I think (or even more garlic bread!) Clearly have brain fog! Can't believe I forgot I'd gotten it out!

Unfortunately it does but I'm ok :) thankful that I have my son.

Used some of the French baguette last night to do a quick pizza with tomato pur!e and grated cheese.

Only thing needed today is dog food. Have a lovely day everyone :)

That is just like my recipe but I use sweet potato instead of normal. It is lovely which a twist of black pepper. :)

I have never bought soup before, it is too easy to make.

Sequeena, I am so sorry for your loss. xx :(

Thanks for that recipe ammonite - have printed it off and might make it on Monday.

I need to go out to Sainsburys now because younger DD needs a glue stick and I need some "feminine hygiene" things.
I will get milk whilst I am there but that's it!

    - just come back to edit to say that I went to go to Sainsburys and found that someone (DD2) had taken £4 plus other change out of my purse so I only had a £10 note and £20 in it and that has to last me until next Friday. I told her that I wouldn't be getting her a glue stick and am now not going to Sainsburys - they will have to go without milk - it will bother them more than me! I am sick of them helping themselves to money out of my purse - they both do it all the time and when I was better off it didn't make that much difference but now every penny I have is accounted for. Sorry! Rant over!!

Squeena - so sorry to hear about your loss.

Sequeena - sorry to hear of your loss, take care.

Soworried - I went down to Cullercoats and the weather picked up a bit, quite warm at times. Really nice to see a "proper" family day out and the place was very busy. Loads of stalls near the life-boat station and nice to see "proper" prices.
The local shops looked like they were having a great day also - plenty of queues at some of them anyway.
Cullercoats Harbour is a great place and if it was in the Algarve rather than the cold NE, you would struggle to get a place on the beach!!!
It made my day anyway. lol

No spends food-wise, but bought some wallpaper and some lilly's for only £1 per bunch from Tynemouth Station market - that was buzzing also.
Definitely not going shopping today for food and will put the lottery on online.

Sad to hear about the death of Winnie Johnson (Keith Bennett's Mother), spoilt was/has been a great day.
Thought something was up with all the news of late!!!!
What a horrible, evil animal Ian Brady is - I'll celebrate big style when the b*****d dies.
RIP Winnie Johnson - you fought so hard.
