blackandwhitebunny I've been following Oscar Pistorius' career for a few years now also and one time when he was being interviewed on radio about fighting the IAAF ban I texted a msg and the presenter read it out. Oscar chuckled and thanked me on air. Made my day to hear him chuckling. He is amaaaazing, he deserves a gold medal just for getting there.

I am determined to have a nsd. :o

I'm determined to have 2 NSD's (that would make 4 this week and average out Sainsbury's spends the other night. I've also got another £4 off £20 coupon, but may give to Brother. Every time I use a coupon (50p off Cravendale of late) and scan my Nectar card, I get a coupon back and last few times it's been £4 off £20!!

BTW - still got 30 bars of chocolate left. ;)
Good job I wasn't keeping it for a "rainy day" ..................... it would have all gone by now. :D
    Yet another horrible day.

  • morning all - it is a horrible day here today - really hot but very overcast and airless - think it may thunder later! thanks for the welcome back!!

Just put the rest of last night's potato bake into the oven to have for lunch and have got some meatballs out of the freezer for tea, which we will have with spaghetti and hm tomato sauce. I am toying with the idea of baking something for dessert but am trying to be healthy so I might not..... we'll see;)

Haven't had any bargains lately - there has been nothing there every time I go into Sainsbobs or Tescos.

I went to a friend's the other day and she made a really nice cheap tea - it was meant for the kids, but we all had it and it was lovely - she just mixed a tin of tuna, a cup of sweetcorn, a cup of peas, a tin of beans and mashed potato and then put grated cheese on top and baked it for 30 minutes. We had it with ketchup and it was fab!! Elder DD thought it was disgusting but younger one loved it!

  • Horrible weather here too. No rain yet but we're in the west where it is said to thunder so I expect it will later .. very grey!

Today so far we've used up 2x porridge sachets, one tin of soup and one packet of savoury rice (really want to stop buying these after using them up as I know they have all sorts in).

Going to use up some reduced stir-fry veg from ALDI (jarred in their oriental special buys a couple of months ago), some dried noodles & sauce :)

OUT : Laverstoke Park Farm bacon, Sainsbos TTD Gressingham duck legs (offer) Duchy Originals lamb leg steaks (Waitrose YS)

Mother called me, very happy with Respect organic carrot cake (1.80 Sainsbos) which is dairy free too she says.

Just bought annual membership of Ocado for 69.99 saving 36%. Means I can get free delivery anytime and priority booking for Christmas. Minimum order is £40 as opposed to £50 with Waitrose. Tesco, ASDA, Sainsbury's all charge for delivery. Waitrose only one which doesn't.

Can't honestly see myself charging round to Sainsbury's, Lidl. ASDA etc in snow this winter. Ocado has more Waitrose organic stuff than my local Waitrose plus more Laverstoke Park Farm stuff than my local Waitrose or Sainsbury's. The branded stuff is price matched to Tesco as well.

Will still go out shopping with my mother but really only looking for veg and YS then.

You have the most delicious sounding YS meat Edwardia, I never do well on YS meat :/ Sounds like a good saving with Ocado, I'm not sure I would use it enough to get the discount but it may be worth it for reduced hassle when baby comes along.

Also OUT for me today is BBQ bolognaise and some garlic bread from the vast reserves.

I was just lucky ammonite and spotted the lamb leg steaks in Waitrose and they are really good. I haven't had a lot of luck though, it's much harder to find YS organic stuff. Most people don't buy organic stuff but as soon as it's reduced people snap it up.

How much longer do you have to wait for baby ammonite ?
  • Welcome back Jane, i did imagine you with a trolley, skipping around waitrose, throwing stuff in your trolley, lol.

Edwardia and ammonite the salad was yummy, leftovers tasted even better today!

What a good idea about doing online shopping in the winter, then again the whoopsies may be better as there will be nbody there lol.

I had the last of the strawberry, watermelon, ginger and peach smoothie for breakfast, potato salad with last of pancetta was for lunch and really tasty, anyone know if i can freeze creme fraiche, sainsburys currently have 50% less fat pots for 80p.

Thinking f having a chinese tonight, been thinking about it since yesterday, if not i will have some of the chilli cooked yesterday along with the last of the pittas.

Need to make space in the freezer, still have a rack of ribs and will have at least 1 container of chilli to put in.

Not much from freezer will happen tomorrow as i am at an event during the day, so will think of dinner for sunday.
