I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

Thanks I was really pleased
The Tescos is one of those super duper stores Lynsey and I always find there is a greater chance of getting YS there than of the normal sized shops.
Smoosh - it is the first time I have found [edible] fruit with a YS on toousually end up with a ton of bread/rolls !
Today's task is to make some soup so that will go into the freezer but that is OK by me.
Entertaining tomorrow night so will be using up the last of the meat in the freezer (mince) and using my Tex-Mex kits that need to go. Had to buy some chicken to go with that but I'm pleased that they are finally shifting out of the cupboard.
My plan is coming together nicely0 -
Lynsey no i got the pouring one which was 50p, the squirty cream was more in my store, great idea about giving away extras, thats prob what i will do, my family always get stuff from me when i get grabbits.
I am having the leftove chicken today, was thinking of ribs to get rid of some, but i dont have any bbq sauce or honey and don't want to go out because i will get tempted and i have more than enough in to find an alternative, might be a pork shoulder piece.
Will also take out some mince for tomorrows dinner, don't know what i will make of it yet, decide tomorrow, don't know what im having for lunch today either.
Also used the living social voucher for the flowers, very happy grandma! she said it was lovely and gratefully received, erm i sense granddaughter points there lol, for £2 it was a bargain but no way would i pay £15 for what i got aslthough they were lovely for £2.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Seven batches of soup IN - costed at 7p per batch :money:
Bolognaise x 1 OUT, 4 slices of garlic bread OUT.
1 tin of sardines OUT of the cupboard.
Smoosh - I'll boil up any old veg in some stock and then blitz it with the blender - all soup tastes nothing like the veg that goes into it anyway :rotfl:0 -
Hi all
thanks for the lovely welcome ammonite and night ryder.
Well so much for not shopping ended up shopping yesterday and more in freezer (oh dear) also made the mistake of taking my little boy with me so he managed to buy bits also. I really must try harder. But definately a no shopping day today other than a bacon sandwich this morning at work, don't think that really counts, at least it didn't go in the freezer.
so here goes my freezer list confession-
12 bags of vegetables of assorted kinds
2 packs meatballs
24 chicken breasts
6 packs of steak
4 whole chickens
4 packs of mince
20 ready meals
5 pizza
8 ciabatta rolls
4 loaves bread
4 packs of wraps
5 garlic bread
20 packs petit pains
12 weight watcher puddings
lots of ice cream
3 bags of mash potato
wedges
oven chips
a drawer full of lollies/choc ices etc
14 bags of soup
20 portions of fish
2 bags of chicken dippers
5 bags of chicken dinosaurs
12 portions of stew/shepherds pie
please feel free to berate me think i need taking through hands. I am hoping to menu plan to use some of this up0 -
NSD for me.
My mother didn't shop til we dropped yesterday thankfully and weather was good.
Bought some kohlrabi in a whole food shop and treated my mother to a Respect carrot cake and some organic strawberries and cream in Sainsbos.
Got some ayran (hmm I guess I'd call it drinking yogurt) in a Turkish mini-market. I'll be going back there cos they had loads of olives.
YS cheese for OH in Sainsbos - Applewood smoked, Cornish Cheddar and Snowdonia smoked. Found tinned haggis in a shop nr my mother's house and bought for OHThink he'll take one look go !!!!!! and give it to the dawg :rotfl:
OH called me this morning to say he's got wisdom tooth probs and he's going to a dental hospital so just to do dinner for myself.Thinking of making him some ratatouille cos that's soft and I reckon he could manage that and a bit of prosciutto.
Hope everyone has a great evening xx0 -
Coupons save lots and lots of pennies and very easy to build up a stash. I'm looking for the toiletries etc as they can be used to fill hampers. We normally give one to Son and MIL at Xmas, not as pressies, just little extras - amazing the amount of stuff that builds up. Hopefully a good few months of couponing ahead.
Lynsey
I'm building up a good stock of loreal face and cleansing wipes. I got some on bogof in MrT the other day but not sure if the offer is still on. Mr S had some today for £2 so 50p off the rest of my shopping. They also have 1/3 off the men's roll on deodrants so about 16p for one with the voucher,Smoosh - it is the first time I have found [edible] fruit with a YS on toousually end up with a ton of bread/rolls !
I normally find loads of fruit but never veg:p
Used one of the packs of chicken last night for dinner, roasted with onions, sweet potato and lemon. Very jummy.
Had lunch in town with MIL and having dinner at hers tonight so nothing else out. Bought some loreal things with coupons, two packets of cereal (50p each with coupons) and some reduced cooked chicken for the neighbours cat. I'm on catsitting duty and he needs three pills and ear drops every evening so I'm buying him treats so he doesn't hate me.:oI was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

summersun12 - great selection there.
blackandwhitebunny - got 2 L'Oreal Expert items for Son today. Boots have large deodorant @ half-price £1.57, so paid 7p for that. Sainsbury's have the shaving gel @ half-price £1.74, so 24p for that.
I'm going to get some more wipes from Tesco (BOGOF), so a £'ish off shop if all goes to plan.
Waiting for a great shampoo offer, though Asda 2 for £4 will do (2 x £1.50 coupons, so 50p each for small ones).
Off to Asda later and may pop into Tesco to see what "whoopsies" are available. Hope Asda have the Sanex in stock!!!!
Spent (food-wise) - £1.69 in B&M's on crisps and nuts and £3.26 in the veg shop on eggs, potatoes and mushrooms.
I'me getting really tight ................... I wouldn't pay 90p per kilo for carrots.
Got some great plant bargains and bits 'n' bob from elsewhere.
Not feeling hungry today and basically just snacking since breakfast.
Groupon booked for tomorrow night (Italian), so not much needed tomorrow food-wise.
Spends today so far = £4.95
See what, if any bargains I can get later (fingers crossed).

It's been raining since late afternoon .................. garden looks lovely though.
Took out some bacon medallions for breakfast tomorrow to have with mushrooms, egg and beans - that'll set me up for the day.

My weekly budget has been wrecked today ............... not to worry though as I'm still well ahead.
Popped into Sainsbury's and there was a lovely leg of lamb reduced from £16.13 to £6.49 and it was on offer anyway with a 1/3rd off.
That's Xmas dinner sorted.
Leg of lamb = £6.49
2 x Jumbo prawns (BOGOF) = £5
11 x Knorr stock cubes (reduced to 35p per pack) = £3.85
2 x L'Oreal shampoos (2 for £5)
Sub total = £20.34
Used £4 off £20
Used 2 x £1.50 L'Oreal coupons
Total = £13.34
Food total = £11.34 (took £4 coupon off food).
Tesco was rubbish for items, very high prices.
Did buy:
2 x L'Oreal wipes (£2.99 BOGOF) = £2.99
Bag McCains Home Fries = £2
Mu mature cheddar = £2
Sub total = £6.99
Used 2 x £2.50 L'Oreal skincare coupons
Total £1.99 (extra £2.01 off food stuff).
Asda, reductions were mainly salad stuff (left it)
Did buy:
4 x Sanex (£1 each and used 4 x 50p coupons) = £2
Foxes biscuits = 50p
Food total = 50p
Total food tonight = £13.83
Days food spends = £18.78
Not much needed though, but probably looking at another £30+ week.
Time for coffee and need to take my frugal pills!!
