Haven't been to shops but did forget to cancel the veg delivery box so now also have loads of veg. i forsee lots of stirfries, soups to be made (that means more in the freezer) etc etc
not doing very well am i. Next job i guess is meal plans for all the freezer contents and no shopping for food at least.

Today I've taken a loaf out of the freezer & chicken fillets out to defrost for dinner.

Got some groceries delivered from MrT as we had nothing fresh in fridge since we came home from holiday, didn't buy anything for freezers though :j

The beef stew was a mushroom risotto that I'd forgotten to label :o

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Going "tactically" shopping to Mr T's tonight i.e. buying meal accompaniments that can get rid of some more of my cupboard items and make them into actual meals. Hoping to limit spend to £25 max. Emphasis on the word hope :D

Good luck and welcome summersun :D

Hi everyone! I haven't really posted since we moved house, pretty much settled in now, although I'm desperately putting off unpacking the last few boxes because I don't think we actually have anywhere to put any of it!

My mum treated us to a big food shop on the day we moved in (2 and a half weeks ago now!) and we've managed to get away without doing another big shop since then :D At the moment we're just popping to the supermarket every 3 or so days in the evening to pick up reduced items, which is working fantastically :) Went today as we were running out of fresh stuff, spent about £10 (which also included £3 on squash and £2.50 on coke), I worked out that if it hadn't been reduced it would've come to £37, so very happy with that :)

Hope everyone is doing well :)

As predicted, as soon as I say I have room in the freezer an impromptu shopping trip happens. Loads of YS stuff tonight in Mr T's - had a great haul !

    Peppers 8p each
    Beef tomatoes 8p each
    huge bag of carrots 11p
huge bag of new pots 11p
    chocolate torte 50p
    bacon 80p per pack
    huge bag of courgettes 16p
Salad bags 10p (and they looked really fresh - they usually look grim and I avoid)
    Cherry tomatoes 10p
    Plums 10p per punnet

:T Was soo pleased! Got some veggies to make soup with, will parboil the carrots for freezer and the rest will be for salad lunches this week :T

Not too much into the freezer as mostly fresh stuff with the exception of the 80p bacon :D
  • Hey summersun.

    Welcome back, bramble and smoosh.

Lynsy I had a good haul in Asda today, I got cream, a candle, a box of chocolate cheerios, a pack of washlets and another free pack of cakes, but I held up the queue b a tw minutes, because the sa didn't know how t put some of the vouchers through, also I took the wrong cream coupon, so ended up paying 50p for the cream as after the wait didn't want f cause further delay, will make some butter with it, so i got my £5.55 shop down to £2 not bad, could do better lol, when i popped out earlier I did get the free jaffa.cake bars.from Mr s and the hobnob bars from Mr a, gave away 2 to my grandma and cousin, they liked the smell of my airwick candle, I have an extra printed, will try and print another, get them 1 each, not bad for £1 smells lovely.

Had chicken, ribs and chips for dinner from chicken shop, me and.k cousin treated my grandma since she didn't cook. Had the remaining beef for lunch on the last homebake baguette with the last beet.

I also went to my neighbor's butchers and got 3 huge racks of ribs, at the moment only 1 can fit in the freezer, so need to take something out to fit the other 2 in.

Some great bargains there :D I'm jealous that you managed to get some fruit :p Mine never seems to have any reduced, I always end up with tons of vegetables, but I'm rarely lucky enough to get reduced fruit!

Soup sounds like a great idea, in my vegetable assortment today I ended up with carrot, parsnip, turnip, onion, broccoli and potato & I have peppers in the fridge too - sure I could make some kind of soup :D

    I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning all.

NSD yesterday, that's 2 so far this week. :j

ammonite - great bargains, I'll have to try Tesco.

Smoosh - I like to add up the full value of "whoopsies" - well done.

ms_night_ryder - did you buy the squirty cream??
Coupons save lots and lots of pennies and very easy to build up a stash. I'm looking for the toiletries etc as they can be used to fill hampers. We normally give one to Son and MIL at Xmas, not as pressies, just little extras - amazing the amount of stuff that builds up. Hopefully a good few months of couponing ahead.

Pate toasted for breakfast and possibly pasty later.
Off to a couple of garden centres soon, then on to cheap shops and finally to a cheap veg/egg place. Hoping to get to Asda today to use Sanex coupons and working out where to use L'Oreal coupons to best effect.

Bit misty here early on, but hoping it picks up later and a few hours in the garden.
