ms_night_ryder - your pc may just need configured??
My son had to tweak his ipad settings to allow internet access (mobile internet).
    Just guessing though. lol

Is it me or is the narrator on the closing ceremony sounding drab??
Sounds like he's narrating a 50's archaeological programme, not a successful event!! :D
Bring on the show and the music. ;)

    Morning all.

I enjoyed the ceremony once it got under way, it would have been nice to have been there in person. The lighting was pretty amazing.

Coffee and toast (with real butter) for breakfast and burgers out for later. 3 potatoes left, so I'll make a few oven chips.
I normally go shopping for Brother on a Monday, but he wants nothing!! I'll need to get some buns for burgers, but trying to delay spends today, but will check out any cheese offers.

    Catch up later.

Small Abel & Cole delivery this morning, not much over the £10 minimum. Yeo Valley yogurt (cheaper than supermarkets except for 1 kg tub at Waitrose), Abel & Cole tzatziki (cheaper than making it myself), organic fennel, baby multi-coloured courgettes and globe artichokes plus Grove OJ on offer.

Not actually shopping today as going to see my mother tomorrow and she will drag me to supermarkets.

Hope everyone enjoys the sun xx
  • We got back from our holiday last week but I've only just finished catching up on the thread.
Very surprisingly we came back with euro's left over, must try harder next time:rotfl:so they're going into the spending pot for the next trip.
I am determined now that we have to eat what's in the freezer before I buy anything else:o I must get over the mental block that I need to buy any bargains I see in case they're not there later. Need to keep telling myself that they will still be there or else there will be other special offers.
I need to do a freezer inventory but I'm guessing we have enough meat for at least three months, I'm going to try taking the first packet from the top every day and making a meal from it whatever it is - not putting things back because I don't feel like chicken, fish whatever or even worse buying something else.
We did the usual Sun afternoon Sains run yesterday for fruit and veg and got quite a few bits but the reduced prices weren't as good as usual. It used to be everything for 20p or 25p whereas some bits were 30p or even 50p (for a watermelon - still a good buy) but I guess its typical - go away for two weeks and everything changes:D
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

I can completely relate to this, I find it so hard to resist ys bargains when I see them, or offers, but I've found since doing an inventory I've started thinking of more ideas for meals that can use up what we have.

Am planning on an NSD today.

Out of the freezer today - w/m pitta bread for lunch, to have with ys sliced beef and salad.

I'm going to use up some of the tapas dishes I have in the freezer, and we're going to have a selection of them tonight for tea, so that will clear some space, which I expect I'll fill on Saturday if the Lidl half price meat is either chicken or pork loin joints :)

Been to Morries for buns and spent more than expected!!
Some decent offers on in store ............... if you're spending.

    Bought:
Pack of 6 large baps (on offer) = 70p
    Pack Fos'x Moo biscuits = 50p
    Lake District Cheddar (350g) = £1.99
    Carr's water biscuits (half-price) = 59p
Big bag of pears (seconds) = 35p
    Tub strawberries (seconds) = 39p

    Total = £4.51

Non-food - bought another Air Wick candle (£2 half-price) and used last £1 coupon.

Had the burger in bun with fried onions and I'll have strawberries and cream later. Maybe a cheese sandwich later??

Took out some Aldi meatballs (from Feb) for pasta meal tomorrow.
Trying to wait until Wednesday before buying veg and eggs, unless Sainsbury's have something cheap tonight.
At least the cheese and some fruit is crossed off my list.

blackandwhitebunny - hope you had a great time. Resisting the bargains is not easy at times, even with full freezers. I find having a budget does help though, otherwise I would want virtually everything!!

Hi, we just got back from holiday then we went to our caravan for the weekend.

The fridge looks quite bare, but the freezers & cupboards are fit to burst.

I did an online shop today to MrT for some fresh things, but apart from that I need to get the freezers down a bit. My upright freezer isn't frost free and will soon need defrosted.

    So today....

We all had cereal & toast for breakfast.

For lunch DS used up some ham, chorizo and cheese to make a sandwich to take with him to his wee part-time job.

DH opened a tin of cooked ham from the cupboard and used that for sandwiches as the fridge is so Empty.

I made Dd sandwiches using the scrapings from the bottom of a jar of peanut butter, she had a few strawberries that were left over and a yoghurt. I had toast with butter.

For dinner I took from freezer a pack of pork loin steaks, some leftover mash I had frozen, a few frozen roast potatoes and I'll do some frozen veg and gravy. Also defrosted a loaf.

    Quite pleased with myself :j

For dinner we have Gressingham duck legs (offer) if defrosted.

Last night we ended up having Laverstoke Park Farm org lamb and mint burgers - more like indigestible bricks :(

The Laverstoke Park Farm buffalo burgers however are 2 packs for £5 on offer at Waitrose atm and fantastic and barely shrink.

OUT Cloud Nine org meatballs from Sainsbury's which I love hot or cold, for dinner tomorrow.
