yeah not bad, i will get get a big meat order in sep/oct and fit it in if it kills me lol, it will be nice to spurge loads and then spend very little for several months and see my savings grow which still have nice food :)

i'll cry if my freezer breaks with £200+ of meat in it lol.
 I would cry as well.

What meat order do you get? The ones I find are more pricey.

Take good care of your savings, I would be up a creek without a paddle so to speak without mine. :D

Ma came Up Country as she calls it, and we hit Tesco, Waitrose and Sainsbury's in a mad dash because OH was due home early after eight days in London.

First stop was Tesco. Couldn't find the Crazy Jack organic couscous Sequeena but we cleaned em out of Moo organic semi-skimmed UHT ie 20 litres :D saving 20p per litre as on offer. Also picked up organic mixed peppers on offer and organic OJ on offer plus some Heinz organic biscotti on offer for OH. He hasn't twigged yet that many of these organic snacky things are aimed at kids !

Waitrose was really lucrative. Got five lots of YS Duchy Originals lamb leg steaks which just squeeze in freezer plus YS organic celery and organic beetroot on offer. Innocent juice 900ml were 2 for £3 so I snapped up those for OH. Laverstoke Park buffalo burgers were 2 for 2.50 on offer. Found Yeo Valley organic natural yogurt 1kg tub for 2.50 which is quite a saving on Abel & Cole price 1.40 and ASDA 1.48 for 500g.

Sainsbury's was last stop. Picked up Ecover on special offer to try it as I saved quite a bit in Tesco and Waitrose. Bought Sainsbury's unsalted organic butter at 1.49 cos not paying 1.60 for non organic President and British organic strawberries were 2 for £4. Bought Heinz organic cream of tomato soup for OH 4 for £3 on offer for second time this week !

I freely admit that I was 33.36 over budget for the week but when I worked it out milk and stuff for freezer accounted for £26 of that. I hope that I won't need to buy milk for the humans until September now, won't need to go shopping next week except for veg and dog food and have enough meat to last for three or four weeks in the freezer.

    Totally shopped out here !

i'm sure my freezer will be fine, i'm abit worried as it's outside this year, it was last year tho for some reason a garage seems better than a prefab building that looks like it might colapse lol (it won't i'm sure)

i get my meat from a local place that supplies to resurants, it's not cheaper than supermarkets but it is lovely and they do the nicest chicken which i swear our fav chippy uses so will save us abit of takeaway.plus they do the tenderist sirlion we get around 12 steaks for £45 which isn't bad. and 5kg of chicken breasts for £19 which is about 22 breasts but they don't have any water added.

Morning, I hope everyone is well.

Edwardia, well done on your ys at last. :)

Kat, I hope your back soon, you and your family are in my thoughts. x

I have taken out some scones this morning that I will add jam and whipped double cream to later for the kids.
I have also pulled out some buns for lunch. I will make some of the left over chicken from yesterday in to coronation chicken. It is jubilee year after all.:rotfl:
It will just be a light salad for dinner after all that stodge. :A

I will need to get milk today but I will just pay the price in the village I think rather than go to a supermarket.

Spent just 68p last night in Sainsbury's:
    Pack of rhubarb = 29p
New potatoes = 39p (£3!!! > half-price offer £1.50!!!) - from the field to the store in 48 hours. £3 per kilo is crazy.

Plenty of bargains, but really got my "frugal head" on this week.

Toast for me and sausage sandwich for hubby for breakfast, lunch out and snack the rest.

I need some crumble mix to make a rhubarb crumble and may splash out on some ice-cream.

Have a great weekend and good luck to those bargains.

    Hello everyone, lovely bargains!!

Stuff out of freezer today for Thomas' birthday party this afternoon. Have to go out now and pick up last minute stuff. There's not enough hours today I have so much to do. Why do I feel so much pressure for it to be perfect??

The backpack I was using as T's changing bag has broken on me :( I've had to go back to my old bag. It's loverly but the backpack held so much more :(

Will be looking for YS party food!!
