Morning all. Yesterday was a nsd. Off into town this morning so will pay a visit to the market for fresh fruit. This afternoon I'll be taking ds to the park with my sil and her kids, so will probably be buying ice cream etc.
Need to get ds' dad a birthday pressie, and I need a new bin for the lounge. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Great bargins lynsey and ms night ryder
A joint of gammon has come out today. I will roast it for sandwiches. 4 sausages also pulled out to batter for dinner tonight. We are having a home made chippy night.
I forgot the batter has come out as well. I froze it on Sunday left over from yorkshire mix.
Have a lovely day everyone x
I forgot to say that the carcass from the guinea fowl went in to the freezer to be used for stock at some time.£36/£240

Morning.
Warm and humid here .................... but cloudy!!!!
At least it's less breezy though.
Just had toast for breakfast, but hubby had a bacon sandwich and what looks like half a carton of apricots ............................... almost 5p worth. lol
Pork chops almost ready just to be re-heated later.
Doing the scones at lunch time and pop in oven with casserole - abandoned slow-cooker idea.
I need a few things soon like noodles and eggs - probably tomorrow, but I prefer Sharwood's noodles and will have to check for offers.
Doing a Groupon on Thursday and just need to decide tomorrows main meal - possibly a stir fry with garlic prawns again??

Haven't bought any food since Fri!
Jacket potato and rest of an open tin of beans for lunch,
Fish and chips for dinner, I just can't be bothered to cook anything else!
Lifted out cooked bbq chicken slices for lunch tomorrow to have with some left over salad, will probs eat the rest of the pack for dinner with pasta too.
Problem with this heat is i just don't want to eat, so won't be surprised if i just miss dinner altogether tonight.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Hi!
Did our weekly shop today. Spent just under £10 and got cat food (the most expensive item of the whole shop!), 2 pork chops, 5 bananas, a bag of satsumas, milk, a loaf of bread, carrots, broccoli, green beans, egg fried rice, barbecue chicken, 6 yoghurts, a pizza and 6 bags of crisps. I think that's everything! Not badStill got lots of veggie bits in the freezer.

hi everyone.
nan is not getting any better. mom says that it will take a miracle for her to return to how she was before the stroke and with the dementia too it isn't looking promising. dad says the surgeon has told his sister that nan could have another stroke at any time and her heart is very weak. He is trying to prepare himself for losing his mom i think. difficult times. please be with me.
to think about lighter things....:-
small spend today. went in to mr t for value coleslaw and came out with a potted orchid (£12 down to £1.32), two bunches of flowers (66p), massive amount of reduced fruit, spinach, chinese cabbage, oranges all 90% off, two loaves of bread 11p and 14p respectively and gluten free rolls 22p, scotch pancakes and donuts 7p each, 8 x croissants 18p, Oh and the loved garlic and parsley flatbreads (ok Edwardia I know I should resist) at 11p each... (just shared half tonight when would normally share one...)
spent £7.87 for 5 bags of shopping plus flowers and plant and had to phone hubby half way home to meet me so he could carry it - cos I couldn't!
love bargains.....
food today well.. kids ds2 and ds3 scoffed salami and coleslaw rolls when we got in from day out as they missed lunch and ds1 had pitta pockets with salami and cheese.
during solar power hours I cooked whole chicken that was only £2.50 for 1.8kg from fave butcher, marinated in chinese marinade FOC from fave butcher... boys had pasta and a sausage left over from bbq as well as chicken and tomato & basil sauce with theirs, we had aubergine masala (freezer), half flatbread, salad and olives, lidl jarred mushies with ours.. Very nice!
no idea about tomorrow yet but am taking picnic to country park to meet friends in the morning. aiming to cook a bag of cocktail sausages first to take as kids ate first bag full yesterday....3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Morning.
katskorner - special wishes to your Nan, yourself and your family at this difficult time - bless you all.
Well done on all the bargains, 5 bags will keep you going for a while.
I need a good day like that, but hopefully not until September - staying pretty much "frugal" until then.
My local Sainsbury's have started giving more stuff to walk-in-centre, where stuff can be picked up for free the next day. A nice gesture and reduces the amount of cheap "whoopsies" (seems random though at the minute). I'm going to target Asda and Tesco more come September and try a few Saturday nights in Morries.
I would also like to find a "Butcher Friend" who would like to marry me.
NSD yesterday.
Bacon sandwiches for both of us today and definite stir fry for main meal. Scones to finish off.
Checking Home Bargains later and will also get some eggs today.
I sorted a few old things from the freezer yesterday (from around Xmas) and will get rid of this week. Cooked cocktail sausages will be done with onion gravy and some sliced beef will make hot beef sandwiches.
Not loads needed and just ticking over trying to reduce freezer stash.
It's raining (slight drizzle) here this morning, hope it gets better later on.
