Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
Made the lasagne, moussaka and thai green chicken and prawn curry yesterday - cooked the first two in the oven today letting the solar panels provide the power (very MSE!) and the boys had lasagne for dinner. The rest is being portioned and frozen for quick meals in the hols.

We are having gammon from freezer tonight with chips, onion rings, breaded mushies, fresh pineapple, egg and salad bits. mmmm..

decided how I want to progress with school holidays now - next week around locally then friday my folks are down for weekend and we are going out on friday for groupon deal indian (OH and I). Then saturday we are all headed to allotment including brother to take down shed and move out. Then we are all having a meal at home and they are all staying over. Then following week at locally parks etc.. including a trip to a fruit farm at some point to pick strawberries and feed animals (groupon deal) and then visit to brother on way home, then the friday after planning to take boys in caravan to Monmouth for 9 nights with hubby joining us either weekend and then going back for work.

Not got further than that yet but that is making me happy if I can get it all to go to plan! Oh apart from two week hol in goodringon (torbay) at end of August just before back to school....

Lynsey I hope your tests go ok and you are all ok.

Everyone else - lots of hugs - lipstick honey, I hope you are ok!!

Soworried - well you need double hugs to help out right now. :)

Edwardia - teach me how to low carb - I wanna shift a stone as I don't like being 10stone even if the docs think it is ok - BMI is 22/23 but that is higher than ever for me!!!

No more news on nan - she is still in hospital, sleeping mostly, but not getting worse. Still praying for her recovery.
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

    I've been Money Tipped!
Weeks spends totalled £24.31 after spending £7.09 today - mostly on shandy from Asda - only bits bought and no veg as yet.
See what tomorrow bring and what Aldi's "Super 6" will be.
Must stock up on veg next week and only 3 onions left from 10kg sack - don't want another large sack and Lidl have cheap onions, so I'll get a few packs on Monday. Wouldn't mind cheap double cream also.
Apart from veg and perhaps some cheap apples (for pies), I need very little next week and will just tick over. I trying to avoid "whoopsy" meat as trying to reduce (let hubby off with the lamb chops and bacon).
Not a single main meal planned for next week, just see what happens.

Took out a quiche lorraine for tomorrow and may have a ready meal each?? Just toast for breakfast.
Sainsbury's tomorrow at around 3pm to hopefully grab some cheap veg, or at least potatoes and see what'son offer - wouldn't mind some cheap pizzas (99p max).

I'll be using a few Groupons also like katskorner in the coming weeks - got quite a few Italian offers to use up - desperately need Chinese offers ASAP. Also got a £5 off carvery voucher to use with free drinks.
Probably Italian this week and carvery next week.

Hope the weather is as good tomorrow (fingers crossed).

Evening everyone :) Lynsey good to see you back x

Not much in the way of bargains today and only 1 YS. Tesco goodness fromage frais for my son, 50p for 6 (down from £1 I think). He's already ate 4, my OH will eat the other 2.

In home bargains I found some plum organic cheddar, parsnip and carrot mash (for babies) for 49p (rrp £2.69) and plum organic ginger and orange oat biscuits for 39p (only place I could find online was amazon and they're selling for over £7 ).

Also picked up Mccain mature cheddar and red onion wedges for 90p. Still cannot find the ella's kitchen rice pudding (for babies) anywhere though  I did notice their value mushy peas are down to 4p a tin though so I stocked up. 20 tins for 80p :j

Had some of the wedges with reduced to 15p sausages from the freezer and some broccoli. Baby had cauliflower cheese (homemade, turned out pretty well too thank god).

Been a lovely day. Hope it lasts for my son's birthday in just over 2 weeks :)

katskorner - with only a stone to lose, it would probably be enough just to cut down on the portion sizes of carbs, say cutting down the carbs you eat by a quarter and seeing what effect it has over a month and if that doesn't work cutting down to 50% less. Just the carbs though, no need to start eating lettuce leaves for lunch ;) You are eating quite a few carbs there with pasta in the lasagne, rice with the curry, breaded mushrooms, chips, onion rings - the onion rings and mushrooms would be a better choice than the chips, rice and pasta if you're out.

sequeena - I noticed that Tesco and ASDA have both had Hipp organic baby food on offer, Waitrose had some Plum bits and pieces on offer when I was there Thursday - OH likes the Plum cheddar and tomato rings. I'll keep an eye out. There are Ella's Kitchen milk and vanilla cookies on offer at Abel & Cole.

When your mini sequeena is ready for pureed stuff with a bit more flavour suggest you try the Kallo organic low salt stock cubes (1.09 currently on offer 97p ASDA) instead of the Heinz Cook at Home low salt stock cubes in the baby section at eye watering 1.44 ! Making own stock is easy if you have the time but with a baby you prolly don't.

I'm hoping it brightens up here as it is overcast and I was hoping to enjoy the garden now it doesn't resemble a forest.

We love guinea fowl. I used to buy it all the time at full price before I had to go on the sick.

I love leeks, I could eat them every day. I've just put a little bit in to some home made coleslaw for lunch to go with jacket potato. :)

Thanks for the tips Edwardia x my son will be 1 in 2 weeks so mostly eats what we eat now but I'll remember those tips for our baby who is due in march :D

The Heinz stuff is ridiculously priced. I've only bought it once, from home bargains again I think. I love the hipp stuff but Thomas has grown out of it now really :( I've been trying to get the Ella's kitchen rice puddings from tesco for 75p but I cannot find them anywhere! Thomas love lo's the organix carrot stix too (they are very nice though)

Sequeena - will try to remember to let you know if I see stuff. I use Johnson's baby shampoo and OH likes the Plum organic snacky stuff so I do mooch through that section quite often. OH says the Organix gingerbread men really hard, didn't even soften when he dunked them :(

Got train to next town (10 mins) which has big Morrisons. No organic meat/poultry whatsoever though or cheese. Got Morrisons organic baked beans for OH. They had organic semi skimmed milk 2 for £3.
