Well done cazj :j
I did have a portion of casserole left so that went in to the freezer yesterday.
2x YS TTD gressingham duck legs have come out today for dinner. I'm making duck wraps with hoisin sauce to use up the YS stirfry from the other day.
2x buns have came out for lunch as well.
Nothing will go in as I am really wanting to keep to budget this month, if I don't I will have to use savings and there is no need. We have plenty food in.£36/£240

I'm so jealous that everyone seems to have such a lot of freezer space! Ours is teeny tiny, so other than putting things in there that need to go in there, I can't really freeze much
Although I did manage to wedge a loaf of bread in
Moving in 9 days and our new house has a lovely big fridge/freezer, can't wait to be able to bulk make meals and freeze them!
Not really sure what I'm going to do for dinner tonight, I kind of feel like pasta though. Me and OH have managed to eat far too many of the crisps that I bought on the last shopso I think I may have a go at making some of my own with some of the reduced potatoes that I got!

Hey all.
Chilli in the slow cooker as I type! Jar of salsa from cupboard used, lean mince from the freezer as well.
Went to Mr s yesterday as I really needed gloves and bin bags, thought I would time it with ys ain't been for ages, didn't get much, there was a lady standing at reductions waiting for the ys guy, so I went and got what I needed, went to the other ys bit, who should be standing there, in front of the guy who was prepping the ys stuff, the same lady! She just stood in front of him! Bit embarrassing really, i went and came back, by the time I went back she had cleared everything! Managed to get ttd mash for 2 for 59p that the guy had just reduced, the woman passed me and her basket was full of ys, i then went to the meat ys and guess who was standing there waiting? Yup same woman this time with a man who had an empty basket, the was no ys mos so i assume they were waiting for him! Lol.
Decided not to stay to fight her for meat, but I did get half price chicken from the deli counter and a punnet of peaches for 40p so i was happy with that.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

auditbabe - I was born in Hunstanton, have close family in Sheringham and King's Lynn, further back we're from places like the wonderfully named Wigginhall St Mary Magdalen and Norwich.
katskorner you deserve a bloomin medal !!! 61 kids arghhhhhh
I went shopping with my mother today and we hit Lidl, ASDA, Waitrose and Sainsbury's. Yeah, she's a shoppaholic.
I got Dorset Cereals muesli on offer in Lidl for 1.99 and it was 2.79 in Sainsbury's. Stocked up on Isle of Man Creamery cheeses for OH in Lidl 1.99, and got organic Heirloom tomatoes 200g 1.49. Bought my mother some flowers, got cheapo milk for dawg (not giving him organic the way he guzzles it), proper balsamic vinegar on offer at 1.29 and Mature Stilton and Shropshire Blue cheeses on offer for OH 1.49 each.
Kallo organic stock cubes were on offer at ASDA down from 1.09 to 97p and I got YS organic leeks reduced from 1.88 to 1.49 All the President unsalted butter which was shelf marked 1.50 and came up as 1.25 at the till had gone though
At Sainsbury's I picked up an oven tray on offer for 2.33 which was 3.50 - there's other baking stuff on offer as well. Kent cherries are £2 a punnet atm, saving £1. I got small organic Wensleydale and small organic Red Leicester for OH on offer 2 for 4.50 and saved 25p.
Then at Waitrose I got 6 x 50cl Evian 2 packs for £3, and some reduced price Mozzarella balls 1.19, Plum organic cheese rings on offer reduced from 60p to 48p and the Seeds of Change organic sauces were still on offer at 1.66 instead of 2.50. Picked up YS organic mushrooms for 95p and got some Seeds of Change organic trottole and penne rigate pasta 2 for 3.40 instead of 1.99 each. Innocent apple juice 900ml was on offer at 1.32 instead of 1.46 - I'd been looking for these juices on offer everywhere and they just sell like hot cakes !
Organic is more expensive and I have to travel to find it so I think I did pretty well on bargains.Overall I'm spending less cos it's just so much harder to find. Only spent £10 in Lidl, £24 in ASDA included £14 worth of tshirts.

Hello all!
Well ... I managed to defrost my freezer tonight!! :rotfl:
Quite an achievement!
Its really hot though now Ive switched it back on (on the outside... ) not sure if thats normal but have googled and apparently its the cooling system working hard or something!
Still few boxes left in there 3 veggie burgers, 3 quorn burgers, half a pack of mince, 4 chicken breasts, 12 fish fingers, a bag of mini sausage rolls, pack of veg and 2 loaves of bread!

Evening all. Hope all are well. Will read through the thread tomorrow after ds has gone off on his break away.
Just got back really, and my feet are killing! Trip went ok but won't be repeating it in a hurry lol. Glad to be home and back to my own bed, to be honest.
Annoyed as for some reason it seems my electric went off while I was away, and I don't know how long for. Will ask a neighbour to see if theirs went off too. Don't fancy throwing everything in the freezer away. :eek:There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

Nothing will be going in or out today as we are eating out at lunch time. My husband has a swot analysis to do on a restaurant.
Dinner will be something small like egg and chips or egg mayonaisse sandwich. I can't eat two big meals in a day. (Or doggie bag if we get one)
I hope everyone is well and some great bargins you have

Just dug out 1kg steak mince from freezer and intending to make a lasagne and a moussaka. Once it is defrosted. Got an aubergine from aldi on offer at 49p - still alot for one piece of veg but do love moussaka.
Not sure whether hubby and I will actually eat any of what I make today but it intended to feed kids and then freeze for quick meals when i am in a hurry and we have been out all day in the hols.
Might get chicken breast out too and make a thai curry. If I can find the chicken.
Got some peppers to use up so these dishes are perfect. Also will use up mushrooms, onions and courgettes at same time.
glimmer of freezer space there but once meals are made up and back in then that will be gone lol!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!
