Morning, I hope everyone is well.

YS chicken breasts have come out today to make a chicken and leek casserole. I have also pulled out two frozen bananas to make chocolate and banana milkshake for the kids getting home.
Nothing should go in unless there is some casserole left over.
    I didn't spend a penny yesterday :T

Going to get busy baking today to use up some of the reduced bits I bought yesterday! Planning to use the over ripe bananas for banana and cinnamon buns and banana ice cream (I would usually do banana bread, but I made a loaf of that last week!). And then with the pineapple I'm going to make individual pineapple upside cakes :) and I'll use the rest for dinner in some pineapple rice (will have to think of something else for OH as he likes neither pineapple or rice :rotfl:). Then I need to bake the cookie dough!

NSD so far today. Brought home party food from toddlers party this morning for ds3 for lunch although he ate fish fingers and chips this morning at his pre-school party!

Got out 3 x little dish meals for the boys for later after their school discos. Not got anything out for us as still have roast chicken left in fridge from yesterday so probably eat some of that with salad or something.

Froze the sirloin and rump steak yesterday from butcher. Massive beefy pieces (Lipstick... watch it.... lol).
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

  • I'm struggling to keep up with the thread at the moment, managing to read but not post most days :o
I keep meaning to say hello to newbies and wish others well but never get there :o
Just two and a bit days to go to the end of term and then we're off to Corfu for two weeks :j We went to Norfolk to my dad's this weekend so I didn't get my usual Sat morning market shop or my Sunday afternoon ys fix :( I'm trying to use things we have in but without going to the market I've been having to buy veg and fruit from Sainsbugs and I haven't been in at the right time to get the real mark downs. Its made me realise how much we save by shopping at the market once a week, with just 2.30pm ys shop on Sundays.

Edwardia - I often get organic markdowns on sundays at Sainsburys and get organic milk quite regularly - but strangely its always the full fat and never the semi-skimmed.
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

blackandwhitebunny - on my mother's side I'm 7th generation Norfolk born but must admit haven't lived there since I was 6 months old.

As OH commutes to London and we live 5 mins walk from station, we don't have a car atm. Have sussed out that we can pay for a day explorer ticket, take bus to farmer's market in nearby villages, then depending on which farmer's market we go to, stop off at Tesco, Morrisons or Sainsburys and get off at bus stop by our back gate :) Just waiting for decent weather to go do it.

NSD for me today, but going shopping with my mother tomorrow. Just seem to get through so much veg and OH is a cheese fiend :D

    Hi all

Another NSD for me today. That's three in a row. Partly due to the fact that I took DS1 down south on Monday so that was that day all tied up flying up and down, added to which I am without a car this week as it needs to have a brake pipe replaced which had corroded and they couldn't do it til Friday so I am not going out in my car until that it fixed!!!

Had a productive baking day and made 16 apple pies (individual ones not big ones lol) and 20 mince pies. I had 4 apples going a little soft in the fridge and a jar of mincemeat left over from xmas and a butter which had a useby of today's date so used that lot up. DS1 will be pleased when he comes home as they are his favourites.

Had the last two tuna steaks from the freezer with stir fry veg, noodles and black bean sauce. Tomorrow we will have cumberland sausages, rostis and beans. Which will get rid of the rostis and a rouge packet of cumberland sausages.

Need to start planning next weeks menus for getting the shopping in at the weekend.

    Hello all!

I've had a NSD today!! Wooo! I was really good and resisted going to the Co-op when I went to my Gran's and resisted Waitrose at my parents. I just have no room in my freezer really and I don't want to put any more food in my fridge as I want to eat up what I have first before it goes off!

I did however go to Asda last night, on the spur of the moment, as I wanted to see if they had any of the steam mops in stock there as my order was cancelled by Asda Direct, and they had quite a few, so I picked up one! and it is brilliant, I used it this morning on my kitchen floor, it looks really clean, and was so much easier and quicker to use than a mop.

I also picked up some ys in Asda (well, I couldn't not!!) I got 2 quarters of watermelon for 10p each, 2 1.2kg bags of carrots for 10p each, 3 boxes of fresh sausage rolls from the bakery for 20p each, 2 boxes of mini sausage rolls for 20p peach and a granary french stick for 20p. So pretty good.

I'm going to make some more carrot and coriander soup with some of the carrots, a carrot cake for OHs work with some and some carrot cake muffins, then maybe some more soup!! and I think we'll have carrots with our dinners for a few days.

Had lunch and dinner at my parents today, but used up some ys prepared fruit for breakfast, along with some of the baguette. Also cooked some chocolate and vanilla marbled cupcakes this evening for playgroup tomorrow, as this one doesn't run over the holidays. So made some cakes to take along.

Arms still agony today, legs much better, so hoping arms will get better soon. Been taking ibuprofen and paracetamol all day which seems to help.

Hope you've all had good days, am hoping for another NSD tomorrow, I will be strong!!
