My freezer has lost a packet of crumpets (still about 10 in there from last weeks amazing YS find :D 15p for 6 :D), my cupboards have lost 5 packets of savoury rice, 5 packets of instant noodles and are actually looking on the bare side again.

Just got a shed load of pasta to get through now! Haven't been shopping except for milk and won't be going until Sunday for next week's lunches.

    Afternoon.

Hope all are well and all family members.
Welcome to all those new to the thread - good luck.

Had a quick read and I'll catch up later.

Had loads of tests and x-rays and nothing really found - not even my lost coupons (useless x-ray machine!!!!!). lol
May have to go back in soon (possibly 6 weeks time), but hopefully just as a day patient for scans etc (fingers crossed).

Hospital food varied, never really got to tick my own boxes until the 2nd day, so it was hit and miss.

Had lunch out this afternoon (Living Social voucher), so that's probably it for the day apart from snacks - start again tomorrow.

Need veg desperately, may send hubby to Sainsbury's later.
BTW, he only spent £5.90 and that included flavoured bottled water and crisps for myself.
He's also cleared a few things from the freezer, must be the lowest it's been in ages now and once the hot cross buns, bread and ready meals have come out, there should be some decent space at last.
I'm still going to be very frugal until the end of August and then start looking for "whoopsies" again - hopefully some decent space by then!!

Well done on all the bargains, lovely to see.

    Soworried - love your sig.

    HI Lynsey

Glad you're back but sorry they didnt find anything, or sometimes that's a good thing!

Just wanted to say that my Lidl has meatballs at a reduced price..... of £1.29 for 12. Not the usual bargain of 74p but thought I'd mention.

    Take care

    Welcome back Lynsey.

Well today i have been really good, had Activia breakfast pot and a satsuma for brekkie, for lunch i had one of the home bake baguettes, baked 2, will put the other 2 in the freezer, 1 pack remaining, will get more as they were really cheap, i had that with some salad, iceberg, cucumber and grated carrot and light mayo and the chicken from mr s, for dinner i decided i would make a healthy sloppy joe, so again had ta baguette, salad with my home made chunky chilli on top gorg!

I have put a container of chilli in the freezer, but have taken out a bag of 4-5 chicken thighshich i will make a carribean soup with tomorrow, also for the soup i have taken out the bag of pumpkin and i am sure i will use the last 2 mini corn on cobs, will have the last portion of chilli for lunch, not sure with what yet.

I fancy making some muffins, but trying to be a bit healthy, so found a receipe for upside down pineaplle muffins, yum, receipe is not to bad, not alot of sugar used loads of fruit and carrot, i need to buy wholewheat flour and canola oil, can i use vegetable oil instead of canola? also need pineapple, but im looking forward to making these on sunday.

I went to Waitrose today, was going to go to sainsbobs, but have lost my nectar card and only wanted to go to spend points.

Spent £6.35 on a few bits, and cooked 8 jacket potatoes for my dins for the week ahead. This way i only need to microwave them to heat them through and tomorrow I'll make some veggie chili and bits to go with them :)

I understand that, but what I was worried about has been eliminated. Still a niggle that needs sorted and the more they eliminate, then hopefully the answer will be found!!
BTW, never try and self-diagnose via Google, had a few scary moments and you end up looking for the worst possible outcome when in reality it may be something simple.
    It really can get scary!!!

Brother phoned up wanting us to get some bits from Sainsbury's tomorrow (beer atc), so sent hubby to get some Cravendale and use a coupon as you normally get a till-spit for £2 off £20 etc, which my Brother could use.
Told him to look for cheap fruit and veg and anything nice reduced.
He came home with 2 carrier bags full and spent £8.05.

Currys, lasagne, 3 packs of bacon, pack of ham, spring rolls, lamb chops and 2 packs of plums ..................... oh and a litre of Cravendale. :rotfl:
Only got a 80 points till-spit as well .................... I'll have to do it myself tomorrow and show him how it's done. lol

Just the veg to get tomorrow ................. hopefully.

This should have been a very cheap week, but it's ticking up now down to hubby spending approx £14!!!

Back to toasted hot cross buns for breakfast and see what veg I get tomorrow - think I'm going to a cheap fruit and veg place which also does cheap free range eggs.

Early night and hoping the weather changes tomorrow as stated, get back in the garden.

ms_night_rider - canola = Canadian oil low acid. In the 50s rapeseed oil was banned as too toxic for human consumption, but the Canadians bred a lower acid strain in the 70s.

Canola and rapeseed oil taste and smell cabbagey to me and for something like muffins, I would use a more neutral oil like sunflower oil or vegetable oil - check the label on that cos sometimes they have rapeseed oil in teeny letters underneath the bigger vegetable oil label. Basically just the least strong smelling oil you have should be fine.

Poundland does 750ml pure sunflower oil for £1

Lynsey - your bro did pretty good for a beginner ! Our garden looks like a jungle and we don't even have any grass :(

The Tesco frozen bagged wild Alaskan salmon fillets are according to OH much better than the ASDA ones.
