Hi all
Think the bug has hit us too as DS1 has been off school today with diahorrea. He is well enough and wanted to go to school but couldn't let him as we weren't sure he would make the loo in time - bless. Hope everyone else is recovering well.
Ammonite - mmm shopping for baby stuff is great fun. There are lots of bargins to be had if you search around.
Lipstick - that's always when you 'skip' college there is then something that happens the following week which means you have to drag yourself in when yoiu really don't want to.
Edwardia - venison sounds delicious. We found some cooked and sliced venison in sainsbugs the other week and had it with some cheese, bread, salads etc and it was fab.
Lynsey - hope you enjoyed the gardening and you managed to get some good bargins tonight.
AFM - managing to get the packing done which is more difficult than normal with an 11 month old trying to unpack as fast as I am packing lol. We are only going to Yorkshire for a week but we are looking forward to it.
Swopped wednesday nights meal with Tuesdays as DS1 had a bad tum.
[STRIKE]Sunday: DH - spaghetti carbonara, Me- macaroni cheese, DS1 - pasta and sauce with garlic bread, DS2 – spaghetti bolognaise
Monday: Adults - chicken kiev, saute potatoes and veg, kids - chicken nuggets, saute potatoes and veg
Tuesday: All - fish pie[/STRIKE]
Wednesday: Adults and DS2 - lamb casserole with new potatoes and veg, DS1 - lamb kebabs, hash browns and mixed veg

Maisie M - hope your DS gets better before your holiday !
I would def recommend diced venison if you can get it anywhere - I've seen it in ASDA, Sainsbury's and Morrisons on offer occasionally. IMO the ASDA venison grill steaks are better than the Tesco ones but my local ASDA doesn't do them anymoreThe Tesco grill steaks looked thick and juicy when cooked and tasted of venison but more like venison sausagemeat, if that makes sense ?
Tesco organic cauliflower tastes no different to their ordinary cauliflower. However organic leeks and carrots do taste better, to me.
I have to go shopping tomorrow otherwise I will run out of veg.0 -
Hi Everyone - Hope all of you that are not well feel better soon.
Lip_stick - My Mum used to call that "tempting providence" when you sack off school/work and then you really are sick and have to go in feeling rubbish!
Welcome Eleanor and emmajane!
ammonite - the room was cleaned thoroughly - we took 5 big bags of rubbish from there to the tip today, and there are about the same for the charity shop. It had got so bad that I just refused to even go in there until she gave in and did it herself.
Have been mad busy with work all day and computer played up and I lost a load of data which had taken me ages to input and I had to do it again so I was mega frustrated.
Was having a NSD but the tip is right next to Tesco and I had £10 in my purse so went in and they had loads of ys stuff - got three loaves for 29p each, pittas and scotch pancakes for 5p each, an iceberg lettuce for 30p, peanut butter and then I got some of the McCain half price wedges and a bag of their everyday value oven chips to try.
Lynsey - the Aldi love spread is delicious! I use it for everything - baking, bread maker, spreading on bread... It is much like Clover but has a nicer taste and texture. Also very good value at 90p for 500g.
Made pizza again tonight - made dough in the breadmaker and used a bag of basics grated cheese and the last of a jar of the Asda 25p pasta sauce. Topped it with loads of sliced peppers, sweetcorn and onions and it was lovely. Lunch was leftover curry which has now all gone:j
I have just got two chicken pieces and some lidl frying steak out of the freezer for tomorrow. Don't know what I will do with them but we'll see.
The Tesco everyday value crunchy peanut butter I got before -was 62p for a large jar and it is DELICIOUS - nicer than Sun Pat!! It is probably a bit too nice. When I looked at the ingredients there were no nasties in there either.
Well, had better go to bed - not long finished working and have to get up early tomorrow!Jane

Morning.
Lots and lots suffering - hope all get well soon.
Popped into Sainsbury's last night and made a boo-boo!!!
Got some lovely smoked haddock fillets reduced from £4.90 to £1.24 and bought what I thought were 3 packs of cookie dough ................. which turned out to be 3 packs of dessert pastry!!! Only 39p per pack and will get used - serves me right for not looking and just assuming. lol
£2.41 spent, so not a NSD.
No meals planned for today - breakfast in Ikea for 99p with the free drinks and Groupon coffee and cake mid afternoon after looking at the sales.
Groupon credit came through yesterday and loads lined up - hoping for some nice deals.
Have fun.

Started the day off by beginning eating the six boxes of cereal we have in storage - bran flakes today which I love. For lunch I am going to have chilli con carni which I made a couple of weeks ago & stored in frozen portions - will have this with rice and veggies.
OH is out for tea, so something simple and easy for me - probably have quorn fillets, veggies and actifry chipsI am getting used to not needing to go shopping, its actually nice to not have to go out and pick stuff up!

Morning all. Think it'll be soup today. Just drinking a mint tea, hoping that'll help my throat. Realised I need to put the shepherds pie in the freezer. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0

Miss_emmajane - is the actifry any good? I have toyed with the idea of getting one but can't imagine that the stuff turns out that nice.Jane

Lyneee £100 for 3 weeks for 5 people....**gulp** I don't think I could do that for the 2 of us
But good luck
I'm sure you'll succeed.
Its not as drastic as it sounds, as I have a fair bit of food in the house. So lots of random meals coming up! Also the potatoes in the garden are just about ready to be dug up and eaten, so it will be fresh potatoes in as many ways as I can think of cooking them!!
breakfast was toast and fruit, so more bread gone from the freezer, and lunch will be pasta again (almost finished the first of many packets to get through!) Then salad and maybe beef burgers from the freezer for tea. My little girl has taken a croissant in her packed lunch today (yellow sticker) and she thinks her lunch will be yummy!
Its her sports day this afternoon, dont hold out much hope that it wont rain though!
Hope all are recovering from the germs,
Have a good day everyonemortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊0 -

I love our actify, my parents had one when I lived there so when me and my OH moved out we bought one for ourselves. We mostly use it for chips and meat but you can actually do all sorts in it. We got it whilst it was on offer at Currys too so was a little cheaper0
