Thanks Sequeena - my own stupid fault about the fridge plate though!
Great news that the baby stood unaided even if he/she is keeping you on your toes!
I need to do a "less than £10 shop" again today - definitely need bread, crisps, sandwich meat, jacket pots to keep us going. May take another trip to Aldi as the potatoes in there are lovely and much better lasting and tasting than the big supermarkets.
Out of the freezer comes two mystery pre-cooked meals. Not sure what to have yet as I can't remember what is in the pre-cooked section!0 -
Morning all.
Don't know about meals today, think I'll have soup. Had half a tuna sandwich for my tea yesterday but it was tasteless. Ds can have the rest of the tuna mayo on a jacket pot tonight I think.
Gunna go to the docs after college as my glands have swollen up from under my chin to right under my ear. Can't stick my tongue out... not that I often go sticking my tongue out, but I want to brush my tongue and see the back of my throat. Just want some decent painkillers.
Don't think I'll be buying anything today, maybe milk, but will check.#
ammonite - sorry to hear what happened with your fridge... all that reduced shelf space! lol
Sequeena - haha with the lil one. It's all fun from now. I remember ds first climbing out of his cot. He just burst into the living room with a really excited 'hiyaaaa'There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Morning.
Had a bad night sleeping as just woke from 2nd sleeep!!!
I was up at 5.15am, so checked out a few things on the net and found out that previously bought Groupon deals may still be bought.
I bought an Italian restaurant deal which is no longer showing on my local Groupon, but doing a search on Google it showed up with midnight tonight as the end date - strange, but it was only £8 which matched my credit (hence wanting it), so was free. When TCB tracks, they'll be paying me to eat there. lol
So worth checking if you know an offer may have just expired ................... it may have been pro-longed.
ammonite - sad about the glass plate, maybe try ebay??
New replacement parts can be stupidly expensive!!!
Lip_Stick - can't stick your tongue out. lol
I'll do it for you.
Just kidding, get well soon.
Breakfast will be late, but off for a coffee.
Cottage pie just needs re-heated (added diced carrot and swede), so easy day.
One cream muffin to finish ................... if I feel up to it.
Have a good day.

Effin doctors are on strike!
Will have to go to chemist and try a throat numbing spray. Anyone tried those? Don't want to waste a fiver or something if they're not worth it.
Edit - I just googled 'throat numbing spray reviews' not exactly the type of reviews I was expecting!
Thx about the groupon tip Lynsey. Waiting for my credit which is going to be about another week but there's a deal or two now on which I wouldn't mind. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. Keep a copy of the URL and give it a try. Possibly due to amount sold, they may prolong it??
Need to print the voucher first though, find out tomorrow. Just strange it's not showing on local Groupon offers!!
You may need anti-biotics for your throat??
Good luck though.

I wouldnt bother Lipstick. They're crap. Get some of the Strepsils plus as has anasthetic (sp?) in them. I have quincies (not heard of around our parts in at least 25 years was told!) a few years back. And our stupid Dr recetionist wouldnt book me on an emergency appointment (our Dr is pretty much booked up all the time. So you have to book about two weeks in advance, prior warning to illness of course would be a bonus). So I had to wait 2 days. These kept me sain and stopped me chopping my own block off!
Hope you feel better soon xMarried the lovely Mr P 28th April 2012. Little P born 29th Jan 20140 -

.
Hi - I always use Difflam spray which i find works very well and you can buy it over the counter at the chemist x0 -
Doctor's strike was last week <looks confused>.
I'm on PRG for my local surgery and if you're not happy with receptionists or system the person to complain to is the practice manager. However the reason why surgeries make patients call on the day for an appointment is because the patient is more likely to turn up.
My GP found figures that say it costs the NHS £35 a time when a patient fails to turn up at a surgery and doesn't cancel in time to offer that slot to another person. If someone does it repeatedly the surgery can refuse to have them on their list anymore. I know people who've done it three times get told of this by letter.
Much more expensive than that for hospital appts, so much so that if you miss two out-patient appts without cancelling at my local hospital the hospital won't see you anymore.
I use Marocaine for sore throats..
Lynsey, not the coffee jars, the big drums on Home page (at least they were when I looked). Coffee prices are disgusting. We don't drink instant at all any more just have occasional cafetiere of real coffee.
Just done my first Abel & Cole order.. free range carcass with neck and giblets approx 1 kg, 1.50, 500g free range pork mince 2.75, 500g buffalo mince 4.99, delivery 99p minimum order £10..0 -
Hi All,
we are back! Been back since Saturday but taken me that long to read the thread!!
Hope everyone is ok.
Our freezer actually has a miniscule amount of space in it and I am trying not to fill that! Went to Mr T for fresh brocolli this morning and a bag cost me £1.47 (loose - I break the florets off) - I was shocked - that is pricey. I spent £14 odd using up an old gift card and a coupon (need more but no printer here) and got 7 boxes whiskas pouches at £2 esch so not too bad.
Dinner tonight might be flo's quiche if the pastry defrosts in time. If not I will make it tomorrow and dig for chicken lattice tonight. Not sure about kids but possibly jackets with cheese and beans - see what they fancy and then say "no you can't have pizza and chips" lol.
cupboards are full and freezers do not need topping up. Got out a pack of mini pittas, ham and pork pies for a picnic lunch for sports day today but we had the mother of all thunderstorms (see the news) and it was postponed for the second time. So had to make into lunches and whizz them up to school this morning.
I have realised that I snack on carby crap when I am stressed or upset and that I also shop for groceries. I go shopping for space too - need to find a way to stop this! I run but I can't do that everytime as it hurts to just keep going.
I also have been lazy today as weather ruined plans to do the garden and I could have done the house but have sat on the computer instead and now it is nearly time to get DS3 from pre-school. groan - won't catch up now today. Need serious cheering up!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

What a day weather-wise here right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Angry skies, make that very angry skies!!!
It went black for 20 minutes and all the solar lights came on in the street. lol.
Thunderbolt and lightening, very, very, frightening me ................ Gallileo, Gallileo.
Absolutely "stotting it down" and a few local roads will be flooded ......... again.
Went to Tesco and got the free Lenors and picked up some heavily reduced bits and bobs.
Only spend on food was the sweetcorn on offer @ £1 per kilo.
See if the weather changes before deciding on Sainsbury's ................... I've found my wellies .............................. but will probably need waders. lol :rotfl:
