Didn't go shopping yesterday, kinda distracted by tennis.. whole trout from freezer for dinner tonight (2 for £4 ASDA) with organic green beans (Tesco offer).
Am well chuffed as I can now fit into size 14 Marks and Spencer trousers yay ! That's six inches off my waist since December, now thinnest since 1994. OH not so happy as having to keep buying more clothes. My chest hasn't diminished at all since December but tshirt size down before then from XXL to L and that's fine for me because I like tshirts baggy anyway.
Started doing an order with https://www.waiyeehong.com as spices seem pretty cheap to me. Not sure I'll be able to do order though, cupboard pretty full.
katskorner hope you had good vacation :T0 -
evening all!
Have managed to use up a loaf of bread from the freezer, a bread roll, and 5 sausages, and a jar of sauce from the cupboard store, and some dried fruit, and finished a packet of biscuits. So making progress!!
I have still only spent £2.36 of my £100 and thats just been on 8 pints of milk. (I'm sure it would be cheaper to keep a cow in the garden!)
The freezer is looking much better, but I need to go to my Mum and Dads, as I have a load of stuff in their freezer as mine was too full! haha!!
I think its all mainly whoopsied bread/croissants/rolls etc, but its all useful!
I lost another 3lbs on weight watchers this week so that brings a total of 9lbs in three weeks!!Hopefully i can lose another 5lbs in the next 2 weeks for my hols!!
Congrats Edwardia on losing 6inches, thats fantasticmortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊0 -
Evening all. Well college went ok. Almost all finished, just a bit of home work to do. Just found out today tho that the next one is a year long! Also got a letter saying I'll be coming off income support and going on to job seekers in August... oh what fun.
Didn't get anything for my throat, the pharmacist wasn't working and the woman on the counter said I need to go to docs for stuff.
Picked up ds' unforms from Asda while there. The guy said 'When I saw all those parcels, I thought you were getting a lot of copies of that '50 shades of grey' book. Er... what are you trying to say mr???
Bought whoopsies too but only spent about £4.Doctor's strike was last week <looks confused>.
I'm on PRG for my local surgery and if you're not happy with receptionists or system the person to complain to is the practice manager. However the reason why surgeries make patients call on the day for an appointment is because the patient is more likely to turn up.
My GP found figures that say it costs the NHS £35 a time when a patient fails to turn up at a surgery and doesn't cancel in time to offer that slot to another person. If someone does it repeatedly the surgery can refuse to have them on their list anymore. I know people who've done it three times get told of this by letter.
Much more expensive than that for hospital appts, so much so that if you miss two out-patient appts without cancelling at my local hospital the hospital won't see you anymore.
I use Marocaine for sore throats..
Er.... you are of course, correct Edwardia.I just assumed it was a strike when she said 'Emergencies only this morning, we're closed this afternoon.'. And that was it. I also thought having the weekend might be enough for them to take off, obviously not! lol
I just don't understand why it costs £35 a time when a patient doesn't turn up? Surely they'd appreciate it, as they'd then run on time instead of making everyone late lol.I wouldnt bother Lipstick. They're crap. Get some of the Strepsils plus as has anasthetic (sp?) in them. I have quincies (not heard of around our parts in at least 25 years was told!) a few years back. And our stupid Dr recetionist wouldnt book me on an emergency appointment (our Dr is pretty much booked up all the time. So you have to book about two weeks in advance, prior warning to illness of course would be a bonus). So I had to wait 2 days. These kept me sain and stopped me chopping my own block off!
Hope you feel better soon xHi - I always use Difflam spray which i find works very well and you can buy it over the counter at the chemist x
Thanks for the advice guys, appreciate it. May use both those options if it's not better by morning lol.
Jemb, I had a similar experience in that my doc insisted there was nothing wrong with my gall bladder as I was far too young! Knew he was wrong! Not heard of quincies tho.
Katskorner - good to see you back, hope you all had a great time. x Oh... did I read that right, in that you break the florets off the big stem of broccoli.... in Tesco????????
Edwardia & lynneee - well done both on your weight loss. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Another good day for eating out our cupboards & freezer/fridge today
They are the emptiest I have ever seen them - both the fridge and freezer probably have no more than eight things in each.
For lunch I had bran flakes again, lunch was a cheese pitta, HM muffin and a banana and for tea I had another portion of HM chilli con carni from the freezer, actifry chips and sweetcorn. Was very nice and now I am very full!
After a few more days I think I will be done and can make a shopping list to get a few bits to make use of the rest of our food next week and after that we can start over buying the foods we eat daily/weekly. I am happy I did this as since moving out for the first time in Jan I kept storing food but its just taken up room and we don't need it!0 -

Indeed I do - I don't want to pay for the bits I shan't be eating after all, that wouldn't be MSE would it?
dinner tonight for the boys cleared some freezer room as used up three large jackets pots with cheese I had YS from mr T after the jubilee. We couldnt find chicken lattice for us so OH is currently hunting for burgers and ciabatta.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Edwardia - the weight loss is a great achievement - well done.
Some roads flooded up here an novelty value watching the news.
Over 1" of rain in 20 minutes, but the skies are clearing a bit now.
Popped into Sainsbury's and not great bargains, but got a stir fry for tomorrow's veggie day and a chicken korma which hubby had for late tea watching footie.
I bought some sweeties. lol
Been craving them all day and "wasted" almost £2 on jellies etc. - my treat for the day.
Spent £4.33, which was a lot for what I bought, but got 2 more Cravendales.
£5.33 is the days total spend and nothing needed until Saturday.
Took out some tea-cakes to toast tomorrow for breakfast and stir fry for main meal, probably snack the rest.

Failing already. Literally had to use brute force to get a pizza in the freezer earlier. Bought the Lidl frozen spinaci pizzas (2 for £1.99) and obviously only ate one. So my freezer is fuller. I blame the tummy bug. My tummy does not want anything that is in my freezer!! Hopefully next week I shall do better.
If I get my curry loving head back on I'll make good headway as the freezer has tons of them in there. I also have approved food naans and approved food curry pastes so need to get back into spicy food quick!!
Congrats Edwardia - my friend also lost lots of weight on a low carb diet. I personally couldn't do it-mad for bread!
Lipstick hope you feel better soon.
We have had no rain today - just boiling hot, muggy weather. WHat's the betting the heavens open at 8.15 tomorrow morn when I leave for my 45 min walk to work!!??Since starting again after beanie: June 2016: Child development DVDs, Massive Attack tickets. July: Aberystwyth trip, hotmilk nightie. Aug: £10 Hipp Organic vouchers, powerpack. September: Sunglasses. October: £30 poundland vouchers.0 -
Lol Lipstick, maybe he was saying the Book is popular, made me laugh.
Katskorner, lol never heard of or seen anyone doing that, is it allowed? Must take a while, I couldn't do it, dont aNy people staring at me, I like the thicker part of brocolli, its nice and sweet, are.you not supposed to eat that part?
Lynsey, sorry about the weather, it was lovely and hot in London, so nice, hope its like that tomorrow.
Shame i had to do my Zumba class in the heat, there is no air con in the dance studio it gets really hot anyway, always worse when. Its hot, thank god the was a nice breeze. Pretty sure i burnt extra calories.
Today I skipped brekkie, got a twix, dri.k and crisps instead lol, then had a ham, cheese and pickle sarnie with a bottle of water at about 4, came back from Zumba and have just had the chicken from yesterday and some rice.
Not sure how much more I can eat from the freezers between now and sunday, meeting my cuz tomorrow for hairdressers, then taking my grandma nandos 77 and never been, sat I go shopping hair and nails, then off to my cousins for my birthday dinner, wings and macaroni yum! Because I'm flying out on my bday, staying at my cousins until Sunday, going Costco lol, flyi g on monday yay.
Deffo no time to eat much, i may take out some Bacon, 4 slices left and some bread actually, have enough for sat and Sundays brekkie, need to finish satsumas, may take them to my cousins, lol sharing is caring lol, will also make the last of the mars bars biscuits and take those too, lol.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Hi all
Lipstick - hope your throat gets better soon.
Lynsey - Gosh it does sound like you had rather bad weather today. We had a freak storm last Friday but didn't affect us much.
Edwardia - congrats on the weight loss. I really need to get my butt in gear and lose weight as I have DH's neices wedding in November and I want to go dress shopping in October.
Katskorner - lol re the brocolli. Quite right too but not sure I have the confidence to do that incase I was challenged.
Miss emmajane - well done on getting your stock down.
Lynneee - congrats on your weight loss too.
Ammonite - commiserations re the fridge plate. makes you wonder why you bother when things like that happen.
Sequeena - yeah for the little one standing. They are so proud of themselves when they can stand as they see so much from a different perspective.
We have just put our coffee table up under our bed as DS2 found that if he stood on the window ledge (we have a full length and height window in the livingroom) that he could get up on the coffee table which he could then get onto the sofa from. DH caught him just about to leap of the sofa whilst swinging from the door handle when he came through last night. Cue the table being dismantled and hoofed upstairs. He only got the opportunity to do that once!!!!! He is such a monkey and I can forsee many trips to A&E. DS1 is the total opposite so this one is a bit of shock to the system lol.
Anyway I can see a bit of space in both of my freezers which is great. This challenge has really been working for me and I am so looking forward to doing this again when we are back from holiday.

miss_emmajane - Sounds like you're doing well with the challenge... better than most on here! lol
Lynsey - perhaps you should look for a kayak on ebay or something!
katskorner - I don't blame you with the broccoli, but I didn't think it'd be something tesco would approve on.... i.e. you'd get banned if spotted.
eleanor73 - I'm hoping to have my curry head on tomorrow. I'm hoping it's going to taste of something with it being spicy, and be easy to swallow.
ms_night_ryder - would have been funny if I asked him what he meant by that, I bet his expression would have been priceless!
Maisie M - how old is ds2?There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0
