lip_stick I can well imagine what reviews you found :rotfl: Feel better soon!
It has been crap weather today hasn't it, luckily there's no flooding in my area though I did get caught in the downpour this morning
Maisie that sounds scary! I pray T is not as much of a daredevil though he does have moments of insanity and try to fling himself off the sofa!
Been a busy one today. T saw an opthamologist and optician. Suspected astigmatism but no action yet as the problems may resolve itself. Off to see a consultant in 2 months to have his gunky eye checked. Opthamologist thinks that it's a blocked duct (he's had it since 3 weeks old, nothing has shifted it). If so it means another day in theatre, perhaps they can fix his dodgy hand at the same time. Two birds with one stone and all that :T then back to optician in September to possibly prescribe glasses.
So proud of my OH though. Tonight he came home from work with Mr M's finest bacon (6 slices) for 9p and 750g smoked gammon joint... also 9p :j joint in freezer, bacon in fridge for breakfast tomorrow :money:Wife and mother :jGrocery budget

Morning all. Had a good night's sleep last night. Certainly felt ready for my bed. Bit of catching up to do today with housework and washing. Today is looking iffy... in that it seems nice one minute, then the next it looks like it's gunna rain.
Ds managed to grab himself a bit of breakfast as I was getting up. I could hear him, and I told him to wait. By the time I'd got to the kitchen he had in a bowl... Special K, Coco pops, two broken garlic crackers and a chuppa chup!... thank god it was minus the milk... He insisted on having it, so I made him have a drink of milk too lol.
Going to have soup for dinner then my curry tonight. Ds is having carbonara. Managed to get a docs appointment for after I pick ds up from school.
Edwardia - Not seen that film... will give it a wide berth! I do like the Bourne movies and there's a new one out soon, but it's not got Jason/Matt in it.
Masie M - Aww bet you're looking forward to his birthday. What have you got planned for it?There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Had my toasted tea-cakes and stir fry next, but need to pop out for an appointment.
Weather here is crazy!!!
Bright enough this morning, but the dark clouds keep coming over and intermittent rain - wanted to hang washing out, but will have to wait.
Hoping for NSD and will be only one of week if I make it. lol
Only small spends, but will pick up bits tomorrow.
Catch up later.

Effin doctors are on strike!
Will have to go to chemist and try a throat numbing spray. Anyone tried those? Don't want to waste a fiver or something if they're not worth it.
Edit - I just googled 'throat numbing spray reviews' not exactly the type of reviews I was expecting!
Thx about the groupon tip Lynsey. Waiting for my credit which is going to be about another week but there's a deal or two now on which I wouldn't mind.
this made my day :rotfl::rotfl: *is abit tempted to google it herself*
I use the expensive vicks spray i tried a few cheaper ones i could get free on script but nonw really helped, when it was just me who used it i bought about a spray a year, but i gave hubby it once and he thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread, last time we were sick we used 2 bottles in 3 weeks, now don't get me wrong i'm all for generic tablets but when were sick it's vicks and crovonia all the way.
Hubbys away shooting tonight, me and the kids are having pizza and garlic bread (tesco has a £1 off £3 spend of pizza and garlic bread so i now have 10 garlic bread and 3 pizzas and no freezer space) i had a thia curry ready meal for my kunch but ended up having free bacon sandwichs.
Went to tesco for pizza as the big one didn't ahve any, noticed they started selling value baps at 35p so got 2 packs for the kids over the weekend/start of next week, but when i collected them the school hadn't did dinner today but hadn't told anyone, so there having cheese baps with melon (2 for £2 in lidl) and a yogurt each, glad i bought them now :rotfl:DEC GC £463.67/£450
EF- £110/COLOR]/£10000 -
miss_emmajane - Sounds like you're doing well with the challenge... better than most on here! lol
Thank you & Masie M
Have actually really enjoyed it - the kitchen is so much tidier nowToday I have had the last of some Wheetabix chocolate spoonsize for breakfast, and a packet of dried french onion soup made up with water, and a toasted pitta bread for lunch. Not sure what I am having for tea yet as my OH is out - something easy.
I wrote out a meal plan earlier this morning including things left in our cupboards and freezer, so have a small shopping list for this coming week. I have also made the items we buy used up in the week - e.g. sausages are used in two different meals in the week so I know the pack will be used. Think this will work better as the freezer got so full as we'd have a couple of sausages a week and loads of other meals which needed different ingredients.
Hopefully we can continue using up old stored foods in the coming weeks with small shopping lists - hurrah!! :T0 -
hello all! hope you are having a happy friday.
The kids had some cereal bars and fruit for breakfast, my cupboards are definately looking better, and freezer is getting there. Think it will be chicken burgers for tea with some pasta and the last of the salad. husband is going to have cheese and crackers in lunch box tomorrow to keep clearing the massive amount of crackers we had.
Still have only bought milk and some diet coke for a treat this evening, so total is now £4,25, not bad going for 5 days!!!mortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊0 -
Re the brocolli - if I ever have anyone by me, staff or not then I just say that snapping it off is the best way to check that it is the freshness I like and they never have said anything yet!. Of course you can eat the stalk but it is hard enough getting my one son to eat the florets!
Not sure about dinner tonight. GOt everything out for Flo's salmon quiche but not been in to make it so boys may well get pasta tonight and us curry ( may have to make one if none in freezer).
I really could do with a full cupboard and freezer inventory but I know that my hubby just won't stick to updating it so it probably would be a lot of pain for not much gain. I could try I guess.
NSD today so far (unless you count the £20 I had to spend on fuel). Will need to go to Lidl at some point but may wait till tomorrow if we can last on the milk.3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Hi - just read throught the thread and hope everyone is feeling better. I have got a bad sore throat and as the day has gone on it is getting worse.
Lip_stick do you get "Care at the Chemist"? It's great - if you get free prescriptions for whatever reason (even with a pre-payment certificate) you can register at your local pharmacy and you get a CATC card and if you need stuff like paracetamol, stuff for thrush, throat stuff, ear drops, eye drops and all kind of other things then the pharmacist will prescribe them and you don't have to pay anything for them. I use it all the time - it's great and really saves money. You always have to go to the same pharmacy I think.
Had a good day yesterday eating up stuff we had in, and today has been pretty much the same. I went to Asda for clothes for DD2 yesterday and saw this new cereal "curiously strawberry" and it was half price. I got some and it was really lovely!!
I am not hungry tonight and I have to take DD2 and her mates to the pictures in my car in a minute, so I will wait until I get back to have anything. Might have soup or perhaps a baked potato.Jane
