Feeling much better today thanks everyone.
Was supposed to be travelling to see my mother but she has to get emergency dental treatment. She may drive up and see me after though and go shopping.
ammonite - if OH is a cavemanthen give him the URLs of The Paleo Diet https://www.thepaleodiet.com as it's a way of eating based on the idea that if we all ate like actual cavemen we'd be healthier
Lip_Stick is right about the eggs, generally I have them for breakfast every morning.
Have made a few discoveries about going additive free and organic.
ASDA seems to do the cheapest organic veg, Abel & Cole has the most expensive veg but delivery is 99p, minimum order £10 and a free range chicken carcass with neck and giblets is 1.50 and 500g free range pork mince is only 2.75. Lidl doesn't allow animals & poultry in its organic and Bally Manor ranges to be fed with GM feed.
Dinner tonight may be curry, do need to get more veg today.

Tooth issues and Dentists!!! Ouch!!! And that's just the bill!!!
Hope all are ok.
Spend a little today, got my 4 Vitalites and picked up some more cream muffins from Morries - £3.22 spent so far and that's probably it for the day. Off DIY'ing again later and may try Sainsbury's on the way home, but need nothing until Wed/Thurs.
Had a coffee and muffin for lunch and scrambled egg later instead of omelette.
Non-budget, got 3 packs of Velvet toilet rolls from Morries using 3 x 50p coupons (£2 for 9 using coupons).
They've also got bin bags for £1 (supposed to be from £2.20) - they are ok for £1, but wouldn't pay any more.

Evening everyone
We have been eating out our cupboards & freezer for the last week but I only found this thread today. I am really enjoying using up the food we have as we just seem to have so much stuff that stays put week after week. So far its not been too hard, but I think next week we will have to start getting creative or buying the odd thing to make a meal out of other bits.
For our breakfasts we've just been having jam on toast, lunches have been sandwiches/tinned soup/tinned ravioli and tea tonight was a box of ALDI crispy salmon & pesto bakes, tinned carrot & sweetcorn and a packet of TV savoury rice - bit random together but was actually very nice.
I am looking forward to having a clean slate after a couple of weeks to buy the foods we do actually eat all the time (we only move out of our parents in Jan so its been a bit of trial & error) - still like to have a few meal back ups but not loads of things we don't need!
Tomorrow I am going to start getting us cereal rather than toast as we've nearly run out of toasting bread but we have loads of cereal.0 -
hi all, hope everyone has had a good weekend.
Mine was fantastic, ( and expensive!!) but well worth it.
The Olympic torch came through our town on saturday morning so got the kids up mega early to see it (6.30am!!) and then I treated them to breakfast out, then we had a friends birthday party, then on sunday it was my dd 6th birthday, so we had a party at home with a bouncy castle in the garden. It was a fab day but it cost me a bit!! Well worth it to see her face
So now...
3 weeks til hols!!!
Really, really REALLY need to not spend any money on food so have set myself a target of only £100 for 3 weeks (thats for 5 of us) which will basically be for milk, bread, fruit and veg, and nappies.
Wish me luck!!

Hi all, hope you are enjoying the nice weather which seems to have come back to visit!
Lynsey - do you have vouchers for the Vitalite? Is it nice? I seem to remember that I bought it once and it was not that nice.
Quintwins - hope your mouth is feeling better. I went to the dentist today, just for a check up and I need two fillings - I got a shock when she told me it would be £80 per tooth!
Just had a lovely tea of cauliflower cheese with half a chicken breast. It was lovely - I used a sachet of cheese sauce mix and added in some extra cheese and used up some cauliflower florets from the freezer. I made an extra dish to have another day and still had sauce left so I froze it.
DD's wouldn't eat it of course, which is why there was so much over, but they had leftover curry from last night so that was good.
I have been mad busy with work today as I am doing a big recruitment thing and I have still got to wade through 60 odd application forms before tomorrow morning!!
NSD today and will be tomorrow as, just for a change, my fee's didn't come. Will have to ring them tomorrow.
Edwardia - I have been looking for organic online meat and found a great site called Green pasture farms. The prices are good, better than others I have seen but you do have to buy in bulk. I am thinking of ordering some stuff. The website is http://www.greenpasturefarms.co.uk might be worth a look.
Well best plough on with these application forms. I never expected this many applications - shows the state of the job market I suppose!Jane

Jane - I posted a thread HERE a while back and the offer in Sainsbury's is back on again.
2 x Vitalite for £1.80 and you can use 2 x 30p coupons - so 60p per tub.
I find Vitalite OK and even use for baking.
No further spends today and veggie day completed - only 1 more veggie day to go and that's it. I'll still have veggie meals and even possibly veggie days, but the WON'T be planned, just as they come.
Bit of a pig today and finished both cream muffins!!
Bacon and egg sandwich for breakfast and took out a belly pork joint to have with roast veg.
Wednesday will be Ikea breakfast and a Groupon to finish (cake and coffee) - fingers crossed Groupon credits should come through from tomorrow.
Hoping for a NSD tomorrow, but may take a peep late on. lol

Used 2 jacket potatoes, 1 packet of rice and a tin of tuna plus salad out of the fridge for this evenings dinner.
Really pleased as been buying baby things with coupons found on the coupon thread (thanks Lynsey!). Got £32 worth of things for £7.50 so far - just wipes, nappies etc. Every little helps!0 -
miss_emmajane - welcome to the thread and good luck.
ammonite - well done with the coupon savings. :T
I miss out on all the baby things - not too sure if that's good or bad. lol
