  • Blackandwhitebunny - I love the doughnut peaches too!! There is a greengrocers by me where they are 3 for £1 so you got a realy bargain!!

I got up this morning and didn't want any breakfast as I was meeting a friend for coffee at 11 and didn't get up until after 10:o We went to a nearby retail park and I went into Boots with my stash of no7 Vouchers. I got a fake tan spray and a lipstick for nothing as I had two £5 vouchers and a £7 odd giftcard and then I went over and they had butties reduced so I got 3 lots of chicken triples for nothing as I had another giftcard with £4 odd on it. I get staff discount through DD1 so worked out even cheaper. I still have another 3 £5 vouchers and will get concealers with them ( they were oos in Aintree) as they work out at about 5p with discount and voucher, plus there is still money left on the giftcard.

Came home and had one of the sandwiches for lunch with some coleslaw ( I always buy the Tesco finest and never seem to be able to use a whole tub up - there is still LOADS and it goes out of date on 26th). DD's will take the other packs for lunch tomorrow.

Am just about to go and put the beef in the oven for tonight's dinner. Got it in Aldi and have never had their roasting joints before so hope it's nice! I just put it in my le creuset with a couple of whole carrots, onions and a couple sticks celery and some water and cook slowly for about 3 hours. We will have it with usual roast dinner accompaniments.

Have been having a look at online meat suppliers - I am really off supermarket meat at the moment but don't know if it is worth buying online.

A nice day here today but it rained all night so the ground is sodden after the torrential rain we have had over the last week.

Hope you are all having a good weekend.

    Aldi joints.

They are beautiful! My Mum (a waitrose & M&S woman ONLY) swears by them.

Well done on the bargains Jane.

I love doughnut peaches too! But about 3-4 for £1 in london, so you got a right bargain.

Finally did my past, cheese sauce, spinach, peas and broccoli stems, did the sausages too, had an early dinner as I've got to do some jobs in a bit, also had some cos lettuce cut 1 up and put in container, also used some of the milk on a aero whip dessert, looks yum willhave it before i leave out, still haveoads of the pasta wholwheat which I like and loads of sauce, so put some In2 of those foil containers, they will go in the freezer once cooled, still got enough out to have for lunch tomorrow and i put half a bag of spinach in the freezer too, cut up the waitrose pineapple and put I. fridge, need to put the 3 leftover sausages in fridge, have a lot of food to use up and a lil bit of chilli left, might use a tortilla with that and some lettuce tomorrow.

Never had a donut peach - had to google it! :)

recovering spendaholic - have you got a Costco near you? I always buy meat from there, if you get the offers it is a really good price, tasty and good quality. I can't buy/eat/stomach mince from anywhere else. Also get the chicken out of there too and have had fish in the past, never been disappointed. Supermarket meat tastes horrible next to it. It isn't "cheap" but I always think its good value for what you get.

Been trying to think of cheap ways of filling OH up for his lunch - never sure if he is actually hungry or just greedy sometimes (probably a mix lol!). I can make a huge meal for him in the evening and an hour later he is eating a sandwich and crisps! I bulk all meals out with veg and potatoes too so trying to fill him up more through the day as he often eats his huge lunch by 9am (starts at 7am) and then wanders to the canteen which charges loads of money for very little. Trying him on those packet Savory rices - as well as his sandwiches and all the rest of the gibble that he takes to work - as they are relatively cheap and hopefully filling!

Anyway, on the printable coupon thread there is a 20p off Batchelors voucher - their savoury rice is only 50p a pack in Asda, so got a few packs for 30p, the girl took 4 vouchers for 4 packs :D

...yes that does mean I've ventured to Asda today :o.

OH just said "can I ask something? you said last week that we'd be eating all the stuff out of the freezer.....but I've just tried to find bread and notice the freezer is once again full to the brim...."

"well your honour...." I began.... :D

Mr.Kitty is a !!!!!! for this. He goes and spends £3.00 a day on a "hot lunch" which is usually nuggets and chips and I'm making a pack up each day. ARGH. I've come to the conclusion of buying Microchips by the bulk and giving him them! Drives me mad. Thanks for the heads up on the rice voucher, morrisons have got them for cheap too so I'll head there tomorrow.

No bother Kitty Ears! I don't want him to starve obviously but he takes 4 rounds of sandwiches, a bag of crisps, a chocolate bar, an apple, a banana and then scoffs biscuits whilst at work so he is hardly going without! No wonder my food bill is so high!

Lynsey - what I'm most proud of is having normal blood sugar even though I have diabetes. It takes a lot of work to maintain that but it keeps me healthy. But yes being able to buy normal clothes is great:)

I hope DS remembers you on Mother's Day and your birthday, sends you flowers etc cos you're an amazing mum :)

ammonite - protein satiates the stomach longer than anything else as it basically takes it longer to digest. Sugary stuff (and that includes fruit and juices) boosts blood sugar quickly for energy then it crashes, which makes people want more biscuits etc.

I was going to ASDA today but one of the eggs I had this morning must have been off cos I was sick then slept for hours. :(

Going to see my mother in the country tomorrow though so lots of veg there :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
Lip_Stick - great Asda glitch, well done and fully agree with gallygirl's comment.

Edwardia - hope you are feeling better.
    "Amazing Mum"?? lol
We try and help where possible, too much at times for the age of him!!
Hope he's not disappointed when we "pop our clogs" and finds there's not much cash left to him. :D
I've always thought it's best to help when he needs the help and see him benefit, rather then benefit when we've "gone" - he may not need help then (hopefully) and the result is the same - our money's his. :rotfl:

blackandwhitebunny - we added the Xmas's as well, 2012, 2013, 2014 etc, etc, etc. - it did get a smile yesterday from him - hope he doesn't think we're kidding. lol

Well done to all those getting bargains, I could have had loads today in Sainsbury's, but only spent £1.36 on bits and bobs. No Vitalite, but hopefully get 4 packs tomorrow.

Veggie day tomorrow and hubby's having Quorn sausages with mash and onion gravy. Probably a cheese omelette for myself.
    Toasted tea-cakes again for breakfast.

Weather has been horrendous, ******** it down at times - roll on summer!!
