I'm eating out of the freezer and cupboards challenge

Evening all. Went to Asda for a couple of things with Dad.. spent £20 ARGHHHHH.
Got some decent whoopises, and some not so decent. One was a scallop, bacon and cheese pots. The blinking cooking instructions are ripped off the back so I'm pretty clueless. Will have to freeze them and take a photo of the back of another when I'm in asda some time lol.
Bought myself a nice bunch of ES flowers that were £10 reduced to £2.50.
Just had a light peppercorn chicken tea, which doesn't seem to have touched the sides, but I didn't have any dinner so that's probably why.
ammonite - you could make meatballs out of the sausage meat which can be frozen. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
ammonite - I second the meatball idea Lip_Stick had
recovering spendaholic and ammonite -Thanks for the comps on my weight loss. That was a side benefit, the real benefit is improved cholesterol, kidney function, liver function, blood pressure and blood glucose - that's why I do it.
I did start off by going to the gym but injured my right knee and ended up having physio. I am thinking of getting a rowing machine as I loved using that.
Lip_Stick when my mother comes to see me she wants to go to supermarkets. When I go see her, she wants to go town centre shopping so I end up sitting watching her stuff cakes in cafes and then get all grumpy with herself because she ate them - and worse still is the fact that I have to buy all these carbs. I'm lucky I'm not tempted myself ! Makes me feel argh too ! Mothers <sigh>0 -

lol Edwardia. I don't think mothers and food are a good mix. My mum is a right mental cow when it comes to food. It came to the point last year where I won't go on holiday anymore with her. She basically said I was starving ds and it's no wonder he's so skinny because I ate 3 chips from his happy meal! He would barely eat the burger lol, and it's not like I wouldn't buy him anything if he was hungry.
3 days after I came home from giving birth, he was crying when she arrived at my house. He'd just started crying so I was just about to breastfeed him. She walked in and went absolutely mental. 'He's starving he needs a bottle, you're not giving him enough.. blah blah'
She's lucky I'm talking to her lol. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Lynsey - That sounds so sweet to give your son a hamper and his car!
It's something we've done for years (hampers), since his uni days really. Before my couponing days, we used to buy offers we could store and take them down when he was studying in Leeds.
Besides ......................... he's the only "idiot" who'll take the stuff of us.
Couponing has made these hampers much, much cheaper and bigger and toiletries and household items are an area which people hate to spend money on (full price anyway).
He'll get the next one around October and then Xmas.
Edwardia - well done on the weight-loss. You rightly must feel very proud.
ms_night_ryder - hope you are feeling better. Good luck Grouponing, I'm hoping for some nice Italian and Chinese meals offers from next week on.
Sadly Son was late and we only met for about an hour, but he looked well. Hopefully the car will make his life easier and help to pick up more work - he's lost work in the past due to lack of car. He'll start benefiting right from tomorrow as they start filming in Guildford and he needs to be there very early.
Spend a few pounds in Sainsbury's tonight, but they only had 2 Vitalites - wanted 6. Get more on Monday as taking Brother there shopping.
Got some "whoopsies" - quiches for 49p and some meat offers - spent £4.39 and days total £8.83 (wanted to spend more).
Weeks total was only £19.26 and will spend £25 max next week and that's the half-way mark.
Phoned my friend from Sainsbury's as they had loads of fish reduced and got quite a bit for her for £4.01 (fish, chicken breast and quiche) - over £15 at full price.
Not really much needed next week apart from fruit and veg and milk later in the week with perhaps some cheap bread items.
Maybe I'll bake again next week.
Left a quiche out for tomorrow and having with wedgers.
Toasted tea-cake for breakfast and probably snack the rest.

Morning.
Had my tea-cake and coffee - all set for the day ahead. lol
Watching the news and all the rain!!!
Positive news is that there should be NO hose-pipe bans for the next 10 years ................. at least. :rotfl:
Try Sainsbury's at 3'ish, but won't cry if there are no bargains. After cheap fruit and veg if possible and perhaps some 10p bread for the birds.
Keep dry!!

Morning... just spent an hour ordering school uniform with the asda glitch taking £2.95 off each order.
All together I've got:
Trousers
1 x 3-4
1 x 5-6
Joggers
1 x 3-4
Polo Shirts
2 x 2 Pack of Blue 6-7
3 x 2 Pack of White 5-6
Cargo Shorts
2 x 3-4
Sweatshirt
1 x 4-5
1 x 3-4
All for £18.80 :j Would have normally come up to about £36!
Dinner will be at mam's I guess. Don't know about tea. Will have to meal plan on Monday. Bought a Shepherds Pie whoopsied and noticed the date is for the 27th... so no hurry to eat that then, and don't have to stash it in the freezer lol. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. Some would say they couldn't be bothered faffing about like that. Personally, I'd say you've just earned £17 an hour - well done :T.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I seem to only ever have time to post on the weekends at the moment and by then I've lost who said what
Lipstick - I hope the little ones all better now
Lyndsey - A very generous thing to do with the car. I did like the idea of the happy birthday 21012, 2013 etc card.
Edwardia - well done on all that weight lost, I'm sure you feel loads better especially combined with all the health benefits.
I've managed to be reasonably good this week. I did buy two pieces of reduced Loch Trout last Sunday but we've eaten one so only one in freezer and I bought a packet of reduced belly pork rashers but we ate it that night (so it doesn't count, does it)
Yesterday we got our usual fruit and veg market from the market. They're sellling doughnut peaches which are just the best at 6 for a pound they're nearly a pound each in the supermarkets. Spent £15 in all but then spent £40 on cat food, half on the market for RC biscuits and half at Mr T's on cheap whiskas. We need to build up a stock for when we're on holiday.
I stayed out of BandM's, the pound shop etc so nothing extra added to the stock pile.
I'll go to Sainsbugs at 2.30pm as usual and get my school stuff and then see if there're any more fruit and veg bargains, I'm also in the market for yoghurt, smoothies and ham if they have anything decent.
Off to freezer dive for tonights dinner:DI was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

Went with meatballs in the end as I didn't have ingredients for the rest. I have a jolly full freezer but its now full of meals that I can get out easily!
I'm itching to go to the supermarket with the coupons I've just printed for baby stuff....0 -
I love this thread. My local ASDA reduced to clear section on a Saturday is amazing, loads of joints of meat and fillets. Picked up 20 Turkey Steaks last week for £6. Defrosted a few last night, marinated in Nandos sauce.... yum! Found a jar of pineapple in the back of the cupboard and I made ratatoutille yesterday; so today I'm going to have my very own posh nandos.
Not happy with ASDA though, we have had to buy 6 4pts of milk this week because it keeps going off after we open it! I've wrote a mardy complaints letter asking for a voucher. So there! Now I am employed, lets get rid of this student debt!0
