Picked ds up and he's now fast asleep in his bed. Poor lamb, although I bet in an hour or two he'll be bouncing on my head or something.

Decided to make a stock with the chicken carcass although no idea what I'm going to do with it! Hope I've got room in the freezer to put it lol. Went to Asda for fruit etc, and spent about £16, although £6 was on a bottle of booze. :o

Was looking forward to making lamb and feta meatballs for tea but think that's out. Do you think if I made them I could freeze some? Does feta freeze?

Did that not stink? i like subway but i find the smell really overpowering.

Yeah it did stink, that's what alerted me to them eating it. I did a survey a few weeks ago asking what I think if cinemas started serving hot slices of pizza... not much going on the stench of that subway lol. Never been to subway since ds got covered in tomato from one of their pizza slices.

What you going to see? Was going to take ds tomorrow but looks like that's a no go. I always buy bottles of pepsi or coke from Home Bargains at 40p each, along with the goodies.

We're going to see beauty and the beast our cinema did away with the kids club and is doing happy hr now, they show films that they are about to stop slowing at 12 for £2 and a free adult for every child, we had a choice of this, top cat which we seen 2 weeks ago (for the same price it's on for a few weeks) men in black or the new snow white, so this is the only age appropriate one.

Got all my sweets now :) cinemas about 30mins away thats why the ice cream is an issue but i find hagendaz goes rock hard in the freezer so will be good to eat, i'm pretty sure your not suppose to bring food in but acually i had a wee nosey around last time and there was no sign.

Cinemas just don't seem to realise that if their prices were lower people would buy more !

    Afternoon all.

Just finished having a bowl of chilli, some chaese on top and pitta to dip, yummy, I'm having the chicken breast I cooked yesterday with some already cooked rice, will steam some veg, corn on the cob etc.

Took out the milk from freezer, will use it for tomorrow's cheese sauce for my yummy pasta and broccoli, by the way I am now envisioning, broccoli tender stems, peas and spinach, with a cheese sauce LOL really don't know why I'm hankering after a vegetarian dish, i just really fancy it, think I will have it with some lovely sausages made by my neighbours shop, high meat content and great quality, will take them out the freezer later, will use up some of the milk on a aero mousse sachet I bought in Asda, so that's tomorrow's dinner.

Off for my walk at 7 last reductions are about 8, so will be back by then, hoping to get, peas, asparagus and spinach whoopsied hahaha, I can dream, if not I will buy it, as i really want the dish to taste nice.

  • ammonite - I never put tomato puree in my bolognaise - I use a tin of tomatoes to 500g mince and add onions, peppers, mushrooms and beef oxos, a bit of worcester sauce, splash of red wine vinegar, splash of balsamic vinegar, italian seasoning, a tsp of sugar, and then near the end I put a little squirt of tomato ketchup. It always tastes nice.

Lynsey - thanks for the Birthday wishes for DD1 - I am just about to make her tea - she is having a couple of her friends and she wants me to make her a "party tea" so I am doing chicken sandwiches, beef sandwiches, tuna sandwiches, crisps, home made cheese and tomato pizza, coleslaw and we have a Costco cake. I have made up a couple of big jugs of squash too.

We had our lunch in Costco - I got a baked potato with cheese but it was HUGE and I could only manage half.

Lynsey - that is a lovely gesture for your son - I bet he is delighted with his Corsa! I paid the deposit on DD1's Micra two years ago and she made the payments - it was a 0% deal too.

Lip_stick hope you DS is better soon. I used to to hate it when mine were sick - I was always panicking in case it was something horrendous like meningitis! (optimism doesn't run in my family).

The weather here today is horrible - raging winds and torrential rain all day. Hope it is better where you all are.

Agree with you. Their prices for the sweets etc are far too much!

He seems better already. Bit hot still, but he's enjoying himself playing lego batman on the ps3, so he can't be too bad!

Edit - he's took himself off to bed while I was in the kitchen. Slightly unusual!

Made my lamb meatballs, with the feta in the middle. They were lovely despite my friend ringing me whilst I was making them, which made me forget to season them at all. Had them with an aldi finest, or whatever they call their posh brand, pasta sauce. Added a bit of chilli and some chilli breadcrumbs on top when served. Gorgeous!

Have put some tea aside for ds for tomorrow, see if he wants it for his dinner. Poor thing was burning up when I checked on him so have given him more medicine which should help. Put some meatballs in the freezer too. Will definitely make that again.

    Feeling a bit stuffed now!

Had the chicken and rice, i froze some gravy and it wasnt great, it was bisto though, so lesson learned.

Went to mr S, no fruit or veg reduced, there was loads of lamb etc at meat bit, didnt pick anything up, got my other bits, went back and anything i would have gotten was gone, so got nothing, so have stuck to my plan, lol, did get some peas and spinach for tomorrows dinner, dont need anything else, just to take out the sausages and pittas from freezer pittas for last of the chilli boohoo.

Made up for no whoopsies by getting a groupon deal £10 for 2 courses for 2 adults, paid £2 in total thanks to a groupon on credit, will take my uni student cousin, she will think im so generous, she is always eating and would never turn down a free meal. its grilled chicken humous etc, hopefully be nice and nothing to complain about for £2 plus whatever drinks cost, activated another credit, need to use within 10 days it expires on my bday woohoo, 10 days until i'm away :).

  • Lip_stick Glad your DS seems to be a bit better.

I made the party tea for DD1. We all enjoyed it and the hm pizza went down a storm. I actually made two pizzas with the 500g of dough made in the breadmaker - I only used Aldi regular flour (not bread flour) and I used a third of a jar of the Asda 25p bolognaise so was a cheap tea, particularly as the bread for the butties was Best of Both ys in Tesco for 31p!! I would actually pay full price for that Asda bolognaise it is really nice. I have a whole pizza left too!

We had the costco cake and despite me not even liking it I have had two (big) pieces and honestly feel as sick as a dog - I keep burping and it is repeating on me IYKWIM.

Have still managed to save almost £10 to last me until early next week and I really don't need any shopping, because I just went on Amazon and ordered a huge 62pack of Fairy dishwasher tablets for £9.00 and 18 rolls of Andrex for £7. They were actually "free" really because I paid for them out of my trade in money. I got £34 for a Good Housekeeping jam making cookery book that I only paid £3.99 for!! How mad is that?? You have to get paid in Amazon vouchers but that's fine by me! I still have about £50 left in vouchers too.

The weather is just getting worse and worse here - it's starting to freak me out a bit. I have had to put the heating on and I'm wearing a jumper and I'm still cold.

Think I am going to do a meal plan with what is in the fridge and freezers.

Oh yeah, can someone explain the groupon glitch to me?
