Morning.
Don't have kids!!!! lol
They get worse as the get older!!!
My moan out of the way and hope all are ok, especially those under the weather.
Had my tea-cakes and can't be bothered to make spag bol, but will have to pretty soon.
Just need the Vitalite today, though have enough to get through until the weekend.
Got an email from Groupon this morning giving a £5 discount from an old account and they had an Italian offer for £8 - £3 minus Topcashback for a 2 course meal for 2. Worth checking your emails if you use Groupon.
£8 credits should come in from next week - hope there are some good offers.

Mornin all!
Ammonite- Im withh you on the batch cooking- exactly why I do it so that can have a quick dinner in the week as Im usually way too tired to contemplate spending ages preparing a meal once I get in!!
Lip Stick- horrid weather here too , what are you doing at college? (pop up cards sound fun!)
Slowly chipping away at the freezer and very little waste this week so thats good! bought a "living salad" from lidl for 59p and hoping to do several dinners (plus additions) with that!
Freeezer has 3 more batch cooked meals plus several boxes of veggie burgers, chicken etc.. so will eat that up over next few weeks then it is in desperate need of defrosting!! I *will* defrost before adding more stuff!!
Made it to Lidl for the chocolate deal (Lynsey) tho we are eating it double speed at the mo, not good for waistline or pocket! will have to try and ration or hide it somewhere! :rotfl:

It's abit late now :rotfl: to be fair mine are pretty good, bribery works, we've told them all week if there not good they can't go to the cinema on sat, even tho we will take them anyway (providing youngest is better if not we'll do a pizza and cinema night at home) it still works.
Our cinema does a happy hour so it's £2 per child with adults free, i had a box of micro popcorn which i'll make before we got and i'll get some chewits and malteasers in poundland, so really it's will be £6 for tickets, 35p for popcorn, £2 from poundland, so less than £9 for 5 of us, sure you'd pay more than that for tickets usually.DEC GC £463.67/£450

I stuck a finished-with living salad on the potting bench by the back door, meaning to chuck it in the garden waste later. With all the rain I've not been out in the back garden much and noticed today that hey I've got more lettuce coming up in the tray which is about 2.5cm tall.
If you want to try it, the position it is in is sheltered from wind, gets sun all afternoon and plenty of rain.
I don't have kids, I got rid of my maternal instincts by being a nanny !
OH ran out of skimmed milk for him and dawg so I'll have to schlepp to Lidl later. They've got coco palms for 6.99 and I might buy one for sitting room cos my Madagascar dragon tree keeled over
recovering spendaholic I'll alert Ma to those beans when she gets back from London tonight as she's a veggie. She's gone to Covent Garden with a friend to buy cheese at Neal's Yard Dairy. Not very MSE of her I know but she's not having a good week cos on Monday it would have been her wedding anniversary and today Pa died 21 months ago. :A
I'm thinking of taking her out to lunch on Monday.
Lamb joint out of the freezer for OH to roast for his rolls. The bacon I got out for him to do bacon & Brie (and I went and bought Brie specially) sat there for over a week before I chucked it out today. Hate wasting food like that, gonna eat the Brie myself now !0 -
It's abit late now :rotfl:
Sorry, I should have warned you earlier. lol
I was warned when I was young, but thought I knew better.
Also to be fair, he's a great kid ............................ just always needs help - bless him.
Spag bol on and too much, so will freeze enough for 2 small portions.
Weather is horrible today and yet was so warm yesterday - typical British summer!!!
***Reading the Tesco toy fiasco on the GRABBIT forum.- they've created a hell of a lot of work.

Am training to be a teaching assistant. Not a good example staying off, but practically the whole class has had at least one day off, including the tutor, who has had a couple. I'm guessing I can catch up quick enough. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Lip_Stick - yes I do have a slow cooker just don't seem to use it very often.
Recovering spendaholic - the BBQ bolognaise is a Nigella recipe, I can't remember exactly how it goes and I always have to amend it due to allergies so add a bit of Heinz BBQ for extra flavour but it is basically a BBQ version of bolognaise - less tomatoey more bolognaisey. It is really yummy
OK, think I need some sort of medal from you guys.I went food shopping with my £10 in cash. I went to Aldi to save pennies (its close to my work but far from home which is why I rarely go), I also used a basket instead of a shopping trolley so I wouldn't have to sacrifice my £1 to release the trolley. My Mum had asked me to get her some eggs in addition to my list. I roughly totted up everything as I went along, debated whether to buy 2 packs of potatoes (just bought 1) and the only thing I added that wasn't on my list was mushrooms as I fancy mushroom soup tomorrow and have time to make it so they mushrooms wont go off like usual. Also bought some plums which I promise to eat and not bin. I didn't get rinse aid (couldn't find any) or mustard (would have been over budget). Total cost (including 6p for 2 bags...forgot about that) was *drumroll*
£9.92 !!!!!!!!!
Feel so proud of myself and it is Thursday which means nearly the end of the week! It was quite fun and I was much more cautious as I really wanted to spend the cash as I knew I was limited to £10 (did have card as a back up just in case).0 -

Hey guys
Had 2 satsumas for brekkie, then had the delicious chilli just now, gosh im making it again, it turned out fantastic, thick and chunky like a proper chilli, spicy but not too spicy, will make it again next week, using the last jar of salsa, really wish now that I had got more in the glitch, all I will need to get is another can of tomato puree and some carrots, will get some whoopsied, saw some yesterday organic but still pricey.
Had the chilli in a bowl topped with a little grated cheese, toasted a huge pitta, last one and cut that up to dip in the chilli, so yummy, I doubt the chilli will reach the freezer, going to have some for tomorrow's lunch maybe with a jacket or I have a pack of pitta pockets in freezer that need using, for dinner i have take. Out easy cook chicken breasts 2 in a pack, also took out the parboiled potatoes will roast later and have a corn on the cob And maybe some farm house veg, saving the broccoli stems for pasta on saturday yum.
Going to Zumba today, will go once tgus week.Lose 28lb 3/28lb

Afternoon everyone
I've asked my OH to take chicken breasts out of the freezer for sweet and sour chicken. I'm not well so doubt I'll have any. He's staying home from work as we can't get anyone else to look after Thomas. It's worked out well though as his boss has swapped his shift for Sunday making it time and a half pay and he's not put down as sick.
