  • Hi everyone - hope everything is okay.
I have been amd busy with work so haven't been on the site until now. I went to the hospital yesterday but it wasn't much use - waited from 11.45 until 2pm before I was seen (11.45 appointment) and the doctor didn't give me any information about when my operation would be! Just see me again in 3 months.
Went into Asda yesterday and got a few of the jars of Homepride sauce and some stock cubes. The other stuff was still full price or out of stock.

Today I used up two packets of Aldi potatoes au gratin which had been in the fridge for weeks (but still in date) and two chicken breasts out of the freezer. DD2 was at a friends for tea but came in and ate some onion bajiis out of the freezer!

i went to Farmfoods today and got Linda McCartney sausages for DD2 and also someother veggie frozen bits, plus some Aunt Bessies roast parsnips.

Don't know what's on the menu tomorrow yet!

Ms night ryder - horrible day! hope it is better tomorrow!

    Welcome back Picxnmix!

Lip_stick I agree with you about the Chicken Tonight!

    thanks lynsey, lipstick and recovering!

my day did get better, just havent eaten since tinsel town, still full now.

Lynsey i have ibuprofen in the house, but only use it on the odd ocassion, i do want to look on the internet and see what is what, but im a bit scared of what i may find lol, the internet has so many good and bad things sometimes i dont know what to believe.

Going to make some chicken tomorrow i think, i have 4 drumsticks or may do some chilli, either way its going in the sc, lol i love my steamer and sc so much, that if my grandma or aunt ask me what i had for dinner i tell them and then they say let me guess the steamer or sc? hahaha, its lazy mans cooking and i love it! will obv make some rice and veg in steamer lol after zumba tomorrow.

haha just went to edit my post from earlier, i reread it and realised i was banging on about jews and all sorts lol, sounded quite crazy, im not really, unless you count me being pregnant and depressed lol.

Used another few chicken breasts out of the freezer, the last of the frozen peppers, a fajita spice sachet and a packets of flour tortillas last night to make fajitas. Very nice they were too.

Isn't it amazing how sometimes you can just take one thing out of the freezer and it makes a huge amount of room? Taking that chicken out seems to have created a lot of space - have no idea why but I am finally winning at freezer tetris :j:D

Been doing "top up" shops, around £10 per week which has been working much better than the previous stroll around and spend £60 every week  Going to try this strategy next month too as we have more than enough meat in the freezer, just need a few veggies. Also got loads of pasta that needs to go so a few pasta bakes will be getting made for the freezer.

Hope you all have good days :)

Kids start speech therapy today it was abit late notice and i will be home quite late, so we're having sausages chips and beans for tea, better than takeaway right?

Have some philly that needs used so i'll be doing a chicken pasta tomorrow.

I havent had any breakfast today not feeling too good, kids had toast and apples, lunch will be something quick like a sandwichs as i have to pick my mum up.

Quintwins, I hope you feel better soon
Ms night ryder, glad your day got better :)
Ammonite, you sound like you are doing great

Home made pizza for dinner tonight. Using up a little piece of salami I have in the back of the fridge. I have pulled out a chicken from the freezer for tomorrow and have broccoli to use up with it.

I went to the co-op last night and got 12 Warburtons buns and 6 seed bread mini baguettes for 78p so they all went in the freezer, that is why the chicken had to come out for space.

Does anybody know what time Sainsburys tend to reduce things?

Soworried think each sainsburys is a bit different, my mr s does it between 7:45pm and 8:15 for final reductions, think there are a few threads on this board, one i recently saw was something like tell us your reduction secrets or something lol.

Have taken out the chicken, its defrosting, really should have taken it out last night, hopefully it will defrost by about 4, so then i can bung it in the sc on high.thinking of what sauce to have, may just be a simple gravy tbh.

Have had an apple and satsuma, will have a twix in a bit and then maybe some more fruit.

    Have a great day all.

Mr F ventured forth into the garage freezer last night - got out 2 HM Yorkshire puddings and some chicken plus a HM sultana muffin.
In to the freezer went 2 tubs of sausage pie. I got the other tub of sausage pie in the small freezer after taking out some HM bread. Both freezers now full.
I would like to make fish pie for dinner tomorrow but no space to put LOs. :(

    Planning! :(
Always think about the next day's dinner before you go to bed so stuff comes out of the freezer in time. :D

This may be off topic a bit but can't see anywhere else to post.

Just found a pack of plaice fillets in my freezer - bought last October (and forgotten, obviously). Would they still be OK or should I bin them?
