    Hello
Not been in here for AGES due to work stuff, being away and general headless chicken mode. Plus my printer's out of ink so can't print out coupons...big style withdrawal symptoms and a bank statement heart flutter later, and Pix is back :) With an internet order for more ink dispatched!!

Cleaned out my fridge yesterday and was ashamed at the amount of fresh stuff I needed to chuck out. This last month or so I have kinda fallen off the money saving wagon and my fridge/freezer shows it! Need to do an updated freezer stocktake tomorrow night when back home again (away tonight) and then print the list out when I get the ink for printer.
Havent read all the posts I've missed but will try to read the more recent ones over the next few days.
Hope all's well with everyone. It's good to be back :)

    Hi all
had a cool day today. Went into town to get some bits and bobs with my mum and the olympic torch was going to be there so we stopped to watch it. DS2 was enthralled with all the police cars and motorbikes but less than impressed with the torch lol. Quite cool to see although I wouldn't have made a special trip to see it.

Edwardia - shocking to see the supermarkets not declaring openly on their packaging re gm foods.

Lynsey - looks like you got some great bargins there.

biscuitmad and alwayshappy - cool on seeing some room in your freezers

Lipstick - Kungpo chicken sounds delicious. Is the recipie quite easy?

Deleted_User - sounds like you have your meals well planned to the end of the month.

linseyg - that was so nice to give away your cream eggs to your husbands works visitors.

pixnmix - hope your ink arrives soon so you can start printing your coupons again.

Meal plan for us still on track. Will be using up 2 bags of cooked chicken from the freezer and a tin of condensed soup which has been lurking in the cupboard for ages tomorrow.

[STRIKE]Monday: adults - southern fried chicken, chips and veg, DS1 chicken nuggets, chips and veg, DS2 –chicken, broccoli and rice

Tuesday: adults - lamb casserole with new potates DS1 - lamb kebabs, new potatoes and mixed veg, DS2 – lamb casserole

Wednesday: Adults - goulash and rice, DS1 - out with beavers, DS2 – shepherds pie

    Hey guys

Bit of a mixed day for me, ended up rushing out the house late for docs appt, popped a shirt button off the middle one, left my purse at home, had £2 for bus farre and didnt know how I was going to get home, got to docs ended up crying as a bit stressed, was worried i was gonna be late for spa and miss me andmy cuz appt, ended up waiting an hour to see doc as she was running behind, asked her to do diabetes test as it runs in family, my aunty and cuz have just been diagnosed, so my family were pressuring me, anyway that was all clear and blood pressure normal, she asked me if i was employed and I told her about redundancy, she then asked me if i was depressed, came out of nowhere? I said no, then she said as I had been getting indegestion was I pregnant so I said no, I have acid reflux, its clearly in my notes! Blah, so as i was crying there was a woman who asked if i wanted a tissues, I said no and she told me don't cry, ive just had my large Intestine removed, which made me feel silly for crying! My cousin called me because I had been angry tweeting, so i told her can she pay for lunch and I will pay her back, which she was totally fine with, then I felt bad as she is a student, I should be giving her money! Went to my grandmas 5 minutes from doctors, got a hug told her my dramas, she ended up giving me £25 for bus fare and so i could pay for my own lunch, felt bad for taking money off a pensioner.
she also sewed a new button on my shirt, I know I'm a bit of a baby, but my grandma raised me, I'm her oldest grandchild and she makes things better.

So i was on time for the spa, my cuz bought me a KFC wrap, after a hot stone treatment and pedicure we went to tinsel town, I had a burger, cheesey chips and milkyway shake, yum, but I'm stuffed and happy again.

    Sorry to bang on

We had roast potatoes, roast parsnips, HM sausage pie, onion, peas and swede for dinner. There is enough pie left for 3 day's dinners - now Mr F has to try and fit it in the freezer!

Not having a good week, although it is very moneysaving.

Got £24 worth of food for £4 tonight in the local Tesco so well stocked up again with lots of meat and sausages in the freezer.

Tonight is half a bag of egg noodles (5p), half a pepper (2.5p), some onions and cheese given to my from parents.

Quarter Apple Pie (5p) for pudding with some custard (45p for largest carton).

Made alot of food so will take some tomorrow for lunch! Cheap as... err... reduced chips. :D

    ms_night_ryder - what a day, bet you're glad it's nearly over.
Have a good one tomorrow, you deserve it.
With the reflux, do you ever take ibuprofen?? Hubby had that issue a while back and ibuprofen can cause chest pains as it reacts somehow with the reflux. Ibuprofen is banned from our house now!!

beachie - fantastic bargains, well done.

Not many bargains in Sainsbury's but did get:

TTD coconut and lime cake reduced from £2.25 to 54p
BGTY chicken korma from £3.00 to 99p
Boil in bag kippers from £1.19 to 30p

Only £1.83 spent and £4.88 for the day.

3 more days until chocolate day. lol

Thanks. Well done on your bargains to - they sound very nice. It is amazing how much you can buy if you go at the right time and are flexible with meals. I reckon I save about 80% on my weekly shop.

Really must not buy anything for a couple of weeks now at least!

Tomorrows meal will be about 100x more expensive as going out for a meal. :rotfl::eek:

    I could not agree more.
The last 5+ months I have targeted my shopping at "whoopsies", I had to, to keep budget spends so low.
You do get into a routine and have to be flexible as you never really know what is going to be reduced one any one day - though there are trends.

Keep it up and report your bargains.

    Evening all

Today was almost a nsd. Gave the ex £1 to pick up a bottle of milk for ds. Tomorrow is college so will be spending on bus fares. There's a co-op there too so may have a scout in that but it's small so unsure if it'll have any bargains.

Rubbish! :( Bossy Florenceem doesn't want that sort of talk! No one is going to force you to eat biscuits. I have chocolate in the house but don't eat it! I have various treats in as well for my Grandchildren - I choose not to eat them.

What a waste. I could have really done with some chocolate today.. and you've got some stashed, that you don't eat! Yummy looking pie tho!

Very easy... fry some diced chicken breast, and onion and red pepper then pour over the sauce. :D It was a rtc one at M&S. Very small jar that's supposed to do 4 people. I used the lot. :o Think I'd have rather had just had the fried rice I did it with, and used the chicken and some prawns for that.

You've put me off going to see the torch now. Don't think ds will be up for it after hospital anyway... but don't see the point in making a big effort and rushing around to see it, for a 5 second wonder. Shame as it's passing 2 mins from my house when we'll be in the hospital I think.

The last time we had something like this was when our rugby team (I think) won something. They were doing a bus tour and as it was passing near my house I thought I'd go see it on the way into town. Stood there with my camera and started filming, then as the bus got closer I started clapping with everyone. My camera slipped down my arm dangling from my elbow, filming my boob! :rotfl:

ms_night_ryder - sounds like you've had an awful day. Hope you have a good sleep and feel all refreshed tomorrow.

beachie - well done on your bargains!

    pixnmix - welcome back. :)
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.
