Evening all.
A bit annoyed! Ds got dropped off and I was talking to his dad, about to say bye, when my friend turned up with her 2 kids at nearly 7pm. Stupid time to turn up unannounced. Had one kid playing on my mobile, one watching youtube and my friend playing the radio thru my telly. I wanted ds to get some quiet time before bed. Ended up chucking them out at 8pm.
She's been asking about her son staying over, as I said her daughter can, as she plays nice with ds. Her son on the other hand doesn't. Also she's pestering me about ds staying at hers. Not keen on that either as her son can be right argumentative and has recently been punching doors and stuff... don't want ds being in the middle of that!
Anyone got any good excuses to avoid ds sleeping, or her older son sleeping at mine, without offending? lolHello everyone, I'm being brave and posting this week.. hope you are all well ((((((group hug)))))) xxx
Lip_Stick re: DS it might seem strange but as I eat a high fat diet and have lost weight, feeding DS full-fat won't get him fatter quickly. If on the other hand, you stuff him with the healthier carbs like wholemeal bread and wholewheat pasta and stuff like quinoa and brown rice, he should pile it on.
Edwardia - great to see you posting again. Hope all goes well at the hospital and you manage to spot the bargains. The nurse did tell me to give ds lots of pasta and carbs. Can't say I'm too worried tho about it, he's got loads... and I mean endless energy lol.
recovering_spendaholic wrote: »Lynsey - I agree with your OH about the Tesco burgers - they are delicious - I got the ones with the cheese in, although you couldn't really tell that there was cheese in, it just tasted really meaty and delicious.
Their finest sausages are really nice. Big fan of them here and my mam loves them too and won't buy any others now. Bought them whoopsied and took some down for a bbq and since then she's been sold. Will have to give their burgers a try. Not often I get bargains in tesco tho.Veggie day tomorrow as I did eat the cottage pie (really lovely topped with cheese). Finished off the scones with jam and whipped cream - I must have been hungry.
Macoroni cheese for main meal, toasted tea-cakes for breakfast and probably another cheese and onion toastie.

Topped my cottage pie with cheese today lol. And yep, was lovely! There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

Hope everyone is doing well , still trying to use up the cupboards/freezer stocks ...
have defrosted chilli for last nights tea but we had salad instead, so it is still sitting there tonight ... however Im still quite full from lunch but not sure it would survive till tomorrow and dont want to have to chuck it away! had to throw away 3 pittas , few old rolls and half a portion of curry this week due to over estimating what I needed to take out of the freezer! Oh and some cake which had made too much of (froze some but not enough!) Florenceem tried your recipie and it was LUSH!! thank you !
plan for next few days is chilli, quorn/veggie/chicken burgers from freezer with veg and using up last of the bread/milk and sandwich stuff in the fridge, then a few meals out pre-planned so will aim not to shop till the weekend!Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

We had roast potatoes, roast parsnips, chicken, gravy, HM Yorkshire pudding, cauliflower, onion and swede for dinner.
Mr F got a tub of HM casserole out of the garage freezer - ready for Tuesday's dinner. He also got out a HM muffin. But in has gone a bag of fruit - so no space! :eek:Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Nice to see you back Edwardia.
We're back from a week in Hastings with the PIL. We had a good time although the weather was horrid and we spent too much money. We had the best steak I've had in a very long time although it wasn't cheap. We popped into Sainsbugs this afternoon and got loads of fruit and veg at 20p and 25p a go, good as we missed the market yesterday.
I'm determined to eat out of the freezer and not buy anything to go into it this month, we need a cheap month to top up the spending money for out two weeks in corfu in six weeks time.I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly

Thank dawn1, Lip_Stick and blackandwhitebunny xxx to all, it's nice to be back. Bit nervous about hospital but getting there early, having breakfast in Amega (? OH says its a coffee place) and then shopping after if eyes not too blurry.
Lynsey - must admit I was veggie for 15 yrs then OH tempted me with cooked breakfast and that was it.. his favourite meals are both veggie though ! Veggie can get boring and be brown, brown and more brown..
Florenceem I'm pleased to see you're still posting up food photos !

Hi
I'm doing well here at using things up. We are down to 1 freezer now and have turned the 2nd one off so that should save on electric.:j
We still have plenty in though so I'm spending a lot less on shopping.
Today I have pulled out some mashed swede to have with toad and the hole. I will cook an apple crumble at the same time to fill the cooker. I'm learning Mrs F

Morning all. Made the mistake of popping to Asda for milk and to see if they had any of the rtc bargains stocked. They had the good stuff pasta for 20p so got 3 bags of that, the basil and garlic linguine at 25p so got a couple of packs and some of the scala uno sauce and pesto, bought about 4 jars in total, picked up a sweet and sour tube thing with the seasonings that was about 25p reduced from £2.... and not forgetting, the milk.
Made ds a chicken wrap for his lunch with a jaffa cake bar and a yoghurt tube. Don't know what I'm going to have, maybe miso soup.
Going to clean the rats out today and may start on re-sorting the kitchen cupboards, they certainly need it!
Soworried - aww really glad you've been inspired and it's helped you. It's good to hear. xThere's a storm coming, Mr Johnson.
