bunbun2 - looks like just an "awkward" s/a - best of luck for future couponing, but don't let the "awkward" one put you off.
lynneee - enjoy Menorca, have a fab holiday. Strangely never been there, but done Majorca and Ibiza a few times - maybe have to give it a try.
Edwardia - nice to see you back posting, sadly still a few posters missing. Best of luck with the hospital.
NSD today, I did pick up something, had a wee look and nothing of any value I fancied, so put it back and walked out - I valued the NSD higher today, probably as I know the chocolate will be the reward at the end of the week. lol
Still haven't had the cottage pie as not hungry, may have to leave it in fridge until tomorrow and move the veggie day to Tuesday - see how I feel in an hour. Hubby's had burgers (Tesco Finest) and said they were worth 70p for 2.

Hi Edwardia
do you often find unsalted butter on offer and if so where? I make flapjack every other week and just buy value butter which is still expensive when you use 3 blocks a tray. I have never seen butter blocks on offer in MR T0 -
Evenin all !
Hope everyone is doing well , still trying to use up the cupboards/freezer stocks ...
have defrosted chilli for last nights tea but we had salad instead, so it is still sitting there tonight ... however Im still quite full from lunch but not sure it would survive till tomorrow and dont want to have to chuck it away! had to throw away 3 pittas , few old rolls and half a portion of curry this week due to over estimating what I needed to take out of the freezer! Oh and some cake which had made too much of (froze some but not enough!) Florenceem tried your recipie and it was LUSH!! thank you !
plan for next few days is chilli, quorn/veggie/chicken burgers from freezer with veg and using up last of the bread/milk and sandwich stuff in the fridge, then a few meals out pre-planned so will aim not to shop till the weekend!0 -
Lynsey - ((Lynsey)) ya bargain-hunting guru
how's the veggie day going ? Who's MIA then ?
linseyg - butter isn't often on on offer I agree but a few weeks ago Waitrose did a brand match to Tesco and Morrisons had loads of butters on offer at two for 2.50 so I stocked up. Got some Yeo Valley organic butter in the Morrisons offer as well and it didn't taste any better than non-organic.
Deleted_User - the prob I have with my fridge is defrosting stuff can take 48 hrs so I've ended up getting too much out in the hope that something will defrost for dinner0 -
Lynsey - I agree with your OH about the Tesco burgers - they are delicious - I got the ones with the cheese in, although you couldn't really tell that there was cheese in, it just tasted really meaty and delicious.
Linseyg - I buy the Farmfoods Wykes Farm slightly salted butter which is £2 for 2 blocks. It isn't very salty at all and I use it in place of unsalted butter and it is nice. They also have it in Iceland at £1 a block.
Well - my breadmaker beeped and I went to get the dough out and discovered that I had forgotten to put the water in with the rest of the ingredients! I bunged in a bit extra yeast and the water and set it on again so will have to see how it comes out. Will be too late for tea tonight so I will just make pittas and freeze them if the dough is usable. I gave the pasta bake to the three kids and I had one of the Tesco finest burgers so it was all good.
Telly is rubbish tonight so will have to make do with my Kindle and Daisy Dalrymple mystery!Jane

Lynsey i have been meaning to ask, is the groupon glitch still working?
Edwardia welcome back.
I have had dinner, sweet and sour pork, with egg fried rice, carrot, brocolli and green beans, just finished having apple and apricot crumble, although this was the one that i scrimped on everything, so looking forward to the other one in freezer, next time i will cut the spricots up lol.
still have pork leftover, that will do for tomorrows dinner, prob have lunch as out as i am down bricklane with my cousin tomorrow, then straight to zumba.
tuesday i will make a bulk of mash for freezer, cant believe i have planned that far ahead tbh lolLose 28lb 3/28lb

hi ms_night_ryder thank you ! OH went to his mother's for lunch and she made apricot crumble - her diabetes is worse than mine now
recovering - I bought Kerrymaid lard in Iceland recently and it was actually 1p dearer at 50p than Ocado and Waitrose. Can you do rolls in a breadmaker ?? OH is dragging me to Lakeland to investigate breadmakers after hospital appt so that should be fun negotiating crowded store with dilated eyes and sunglasses. NOT0 -

I'm hoping so. Just did one last week and 1st for a while due to holidays. Still got 2 to use up, so need to stock up on Groupons - another 4 would be nice.
Edwardia - still going with the veggie days until end of June (2 per week) and I'll see it out. I won't continue with it though, just go with the flow!! Still eat veggie meals, but not 2 veggie days per week.
Veggie day tomorrow as I did eat the cottage pie (really lovely topped with cheese). Finished off the scones with jam and whipped cream - I must have been hungry.
Macoroni cheese for main meal, toasted tea-cakes for breakfast and probably another cheese and onion toastie.
Morries tomorrow for Brothers shopping and 2 x L'Oreal coupons to use up (skincare). Not much need yet though until mid-week, bargain hunting only and any great offers.
Check out Sainsbury's late tomorrow night and might visit Iceland to see if they have the 8 chunky Kit-Kats for £1.
