Morning all. Sun is out here. Typical, in that ds is with his dad, who finds it too much effort to take ds to the park that he lives right next door to.
Today will be spent ironing the mountain of clothes that has built up. Boringgggg.
Made my meal plan for next week, but not sure how I'll stick to it. Using a lot of the ready meal type things, because if I cook some mince etc, I'll end up putting two batches back in the freezer, so need room.
Sunday - Lunch Soup, Tea Cumberland pie and veg
Monday - HM Bolognese from freezer
Tuesday - chicken tonight with rice
Wednesday - Kung po chicken
Thursday - Apricot stuffing things with veg
Friday - Turkey crappy crisp bakes
Saturday - Rack of Lamb
Sunday - not sure if ds is with me or his dad so will plan later. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
Was it the s/a that wouldn't allow it or would it not scan??
The ones that won't scan can set alarm bells ringing at times.
I think you were probably just unlucky with your store and/or s/a.
Lynsey
it wouldn't scan and when the SA came over she said they don't accept internet vouchers any more. We also bought some of the burgers using the Mr T vouchers and 2 out of 3 of theose wouldn't scan either. She was not happy when we left!
have been to sainsbobs this morning and stocked up on toothpaste.
not a nice day today - not raining at the moment but has been. Durham regatta has been cancelled. hope it is nice for the torch coming through next week.saving for ds2's summer international scout camp - £200

I put the pork belly joint in earlier on high, then I put the sweet and sour shot on it, will put it down to low in a bit, i also took out the egg fried rice from freezer and decided rather than make the aero I would use up one of the desserts I already have,so i took out one if the 2 apple and apricot crumbles I had in the freezer, will use some custard from cupboards, should be nice, I use a muesli topping as the crumble topping I had didn't quite stretch when making 2.
Had the leftover pizza for lunch, fruit if I'm peckish, need to go to internet cafe later to print some stuff off, but it closes at 10pm, so really no rush and i won't be there long AnywayLose 28lb 3/28lb

Morning.
lynneee - where are you going on holiday??
Lynsey
Hi Lynsey, we are going to Menorca in 5 weeks, can't wait! We had no holiday last year as I had my 3rd baby in June and things were a bit hectic! Looking forward to having some quality fun time with the kids :j
Also just started back at weight watchers to try and shift a bit of 'baby' weight, so trying to do the diet with the food I already have just adds to the challenge! (I hate buying all the weight watchers products, they are too expensive!)
Found some pork chops in the freezer, so doing them with veg and yorkshire puds for tea. Not sure about pudding, I was going to bake this afternoon but so far I havent quite got round to it!mortgage £800 overpayment 2022. £600/£2400 2023 🙂 savings £1853/£1800 😊0 -
NSD today :j I was going to do chicken breasts for DD1 and I but in the end I made a pasta bake using half of a tin of Homepride veg bake sauce (Asda 25p) and a courgette, some sweetcorn, onion and wholemeal pasta (Again Asda 20p!) - added a bit of parmesan and topped with some grated mild cheddar. It is now waiting to go in the oven for tea. DD2 has brought a friend round for tea so there probably isn't enough for 4 so I have just thrown some flour and yeast in the breadmaker to make a dough and I will do some pittas for the week and a pizza to go with the pasta tonight to make it all stretch. I will use some of my Asda 25p bolognaise sauce on the dough for the pizza.
For lunch I just made omelette and beans, which I liked but the others didn't eat much of.
I might try ASda again tomorrow but I doubt I will find anything left!
Have just made up some more of the Asda chocolate brownie cheesecake - it is sooooo lovely!!
Weather here has much improved today - have managed to tackle some of the washing but the house still looks like we've had burglers who've messed the place up!
AM now going to look for a recipe for potato cakes to use of some of the mash I made the other night.Jane

Hi Jane - I bought some of that brownie cheese cake mix. What cream cheese did you use? I've just bought some normal philli. Think that'd do?
Also I went to asda one day and only managed to get a couple of things, but when I went back the next day they must have restocked those rtc offers so go a few more. Hopefully you'll get something decent.
lynneee - the thing I found difficult about dieting with ds when I was doing ww, was buying diet stuff for myself especially ww's stuff, and full fat stuff for ds. He's skinny, just recently been weighed and measured and had a phone call from the nurse that he has a low bmi. It's only 0.12 under the minimum. She did tell me to buy full fat stuff for him tho. Can't afford to get two lots of cheese etc lol. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
went to mr t today to do a yellow sticker shop , have brought rtc in the past but never done a special shop for these items only .
Went at 3pm seems lots of other people had the same idea as place was packed , got quite annoyed with how pushy some people were getting with the staff trying to get a couple of etra pencve off the already reduced stock. Anyone todays purchases to add to sp.

Hello everyone, I'm being brave and posting this week.. hope you are all well ((((((group hug)))))) xxx
NSD for me today because OH has gone by train to see the Dragon-in-Law. Going to hospital for tests on my eyes tomorrowin a town about an hour away which is really really good for shopping so I will get some retail therapy there afterwards
I did my first Approved Foods order earlier this week. Loo rolls, dog food, Jaffa cakes for OH who doesn't low carb, as a treat.. not a big order though. I spent more on tins of ghee from Spices of India www.spicesofindia.co.uk
We've been buying joints so that OH can roast them for his rolls and freezer is full up. Nearly finished the Scottish whole salmon I got back in December at Sainsbury's for 14.27
I was in ASDA last week with my mother ( I don't go there now but she wanted pizzas) and I was looking through the YS stuff and suddenly about ten women descended, it was like a rugby scrum. I got scared and got out of there.
So I've not been really good at vacuuming up bargains bad me. I think I need some remindersxx
Lip_Stick re: DS it might seem strange but as I eat a high fat diet and have lost weight, feeding DS full-fat won't get him fatter quickly. If on the other hand, you stuff him with the healthier carbs like wholemeal bread and wholewheat pasta and stuff like quinoa and brown rice, he should pile it on.0 -
Lip_stick - I just used light philly and it was delicious. I wouldn't worry about your DS's bmi - as long as he has lots of energy and eats a varied diet I'm sure he will be fine!!
Edwardia - lovely to see you back posting :jJane
