Can I join in? :) I took some rabbit and fish out the freezer for tomorrow, and will make some pie fillings (rabbit, veg from the garden, fish and white sauce made from storecupboard ingredients) and top them with pie crust (also made from store) then refreeze for next month when I have visitors coming! :)

Found some crumpets in the freezer. Having 2 with sardines in tom sauce and the other as a sort of 'pudding' with Sainsburys Chocolate Popping Candy spread.
  • I'm still eating out of the freezer & cupboards and haven't bought anything, unless you count a reduced big of Doritos & some reduced choc on Saturday. Also, I ate out on Saturday but it was a MS so I'm not counting it. Apart from that everything else has been using up what I've already got in. With the amount I've still got I should be able to make it through the whole month. I found a T clubcard voucher (my own card) for £2.50 that expires at the end of the month so I think I'll use it to get some whoopsied fresh fruit/veg and yoghurts as I'm fed up of not having any of it.

Keep up the good work everyone.

I'm back to square one after weakening and doing a Tescos delivery. Have to make it last as pennies gone and onto savings this month already. :(

OMG that sounds lovely - I haven't had sardines for AGES - just going to have a look in my cupboard and I will have them tomorrow - well maybe the next day cos I have tuna opened in a lock and lock in the fridge to use tomorrow and a load of mince that I cooked yesterday!

Quintwins - told you the basics pizza was delish! I have to say though that I have also tried the Asda smartprice and Sainsburys basics and they aren't as nice - or even nice at all!!!

Nine days in and my freezer is still bulging, and cupboards are okay too - only need bread rolls and milk but can last until the weekend. I would REALLY like to have a go at making my own bread as I think the hm stuff fills you up more - plus I watched Hugh FW's bread programme the other night and it looked divine!

Today - lunches were all from fridge/stores, I do have a fresh fruit and veg box being delivered on Friday-but they are much needed.

Dinner - OH is having the stir fry he didn't get to eat last night (if the beef still looks okay) and I think I will have another jacket potato, or some pasta and sauce from the cupboards.

Will need to get some bread/lunch bits tomorrow, and also some easy food for OH to cook when i am away - but that means that we i don't need to do a big shop as the freezer food will see us through when i am back.

I did my monthly shop at Mr M's yesterday (get paid every 4 weeks so my month isn't by the calendar). Have challenged myself to a £250 spend for 5 of us,(2 adults, 5yo, 3yo and a 7 week old) which I almost did last month. (I include cleaning stuff, nappies and toiletries in this amount) This thread has definately helped, and even though I spent £110 yesterday, thats about £30 less than usual, and it was a much more useful shop if you see what I mean.
So my freezer is full again, but I havent filled my cupboards with more of the same tins that I already had! SO progress is being made :T
