  • How would you use brioche to make something into a meal, even just a sweet pud that would make a meal?

A really nice cafe near us does a French Breakfast - brioche made into French toast served with maple syrup and crispy grilled bacon - yum yum!

Got a packet of bacon for 49p (Sainsburys) last night, so will be making a "Full Monty" breakfast/brunch later.
Off for a bar meal/snack later, so easy day.

A cafe by us does that too - Mosse Coffee it's called. It's really nice with the maple syrup on the bacon!

  • My sister came for the day today so I made bake your own baguettes with ham and cheese for lunch (all from fridge and cupboards) and tea was hm sweet and sour made with peppers, onions, carrots and cucumber from the fridge, chicken thighs from the freezer, a tin of pineapple and some ketchup soy sauce etc, plus rice from storecupboard.

Would have been a good day except that it was the kids' Dad (ex hubby's) birthday and so I had to get presents for him and I made the mistake of giving youngest a £20 note to go into the card shop while I went into Boots - she came out with two big musical card thinges that had cost nearly £6 each, plus a chocolate monkey which had cost £6 so she only had £2 change!!! If I had gone in (lesson learned....) I would have got two cards for £1 each and that would have been it!!I started the day with £100 in my purse and now I have £10 - cost of card shop (£18:eek:) , presents (£50), birthday cake (£10 - unfortunately didn't have any arsenic in ;)), plus some bits and bobs for youngest daughter's friend's birthday party tomorrow. grrrrrr....... Now I only have £250 to last until the end of the month and I still have to pay some bills...............
