The kebabs were in the freezer from when Mr F used to shop. He had been on his own for 10 years so had to shop for himself. Took him a long time to stop shopping! I am in charge of what is bought now. The kebabs were not in the original packaging - not something I would buy but decided to use them rather than throw them away.

:money:your just right i'd have used them aswell, i love kebabas and do indulge in them from the takeaway from time to time but i'd dead set against the kids having one, maybe it's better that way as a treat.

just had some tom soup and bread for lunch, it was proper heinz and was quite nice, i rarely buy heinz and for how often i eat soup i think i'll stick to not buying heinz even if it was worth the 50p i paid :rotfl:

Afternoon all, i have taken a pot of chicken, chorizo & butterbean stew out of the freezer. We shall have that with some brown rice & veg. Kids may have pizza i think, depends if they are well enough later.

my tesco order came and my fridge is now fit to burst, gonna peel and slice carrots and mushrooms for the freezer tonight, have put the stew in the slowcooker to warm up, figured it might be cheaper than the cooker, will prob be barely warm by the time the kids are ready for some so i just had a caibatta bread with mixed leaves, tomatoe, mayo and corned beef and wow is it yummy.

problem is i now have loads of veg to use up, so i'm thinking a batch of hm pasta sauce, a cauilfower cheese and a brocolli bake.

plan for the week looks like

    tonight- stew
wed-gammon with mash, and cauilflower cheese, and sweetcorn
    thur- homemde burger with salad
fri-chicken breasts with mash roasties, yorkshire, and caggabe
sat- cheesey taties and brocolli bake with bacon and sweetcorn
sunday- dinner at inlaws so prob a small dinner maybe sandwichs or more salad

a ny suggestions on what to do with ALOT of oranges?

Hi all! Busy day today with lots of haircuts! But all of us apart from OH are all lovely and tidy again :).

Food tonight for kids - bubbly batter fish fingers and chips with peas and sweetcorn. All freezer.

Us - hubby just found two chicken breast kievs so having those with a stirfry I think.

Got to arrange something for tomorrow. Maybe sausage casserole. Got some lovely toulouse sausages in the freezer so probably dig for those (well hubby will!). Will help use up some of the lovely veg we have too.
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Evening all. Feeling stuffed after tea. Had tesco finest beef burgers with onion rings, tomato, mushrooms, sweetcorn and chips. Ds ate plenty and liked the black peppercorn sauce, which he turned his nose up at last time.

Had a call from the school nurse today saying that ds is on something like the 0.5 centile for his height and weight. Said he has a low bmi too but told me not to worry if he's getting a balanced diet. Have bought him some ice cream and magnum lollies so that's filled a space in the freezer.

    Need haircuts here katskorner!

I'm full as well, had a muffin and spread, some hippo wafers, a small packet of strawberry flakes and 1 of yogurt flavored raisins, then a packet of crisps and a chocolate, lol, then went to hour and half of kickboxing, hence why I had so many calorific this ys earlier, after I had a ham and cheese sandwich on brown and a small baguette with badly any filling and it was a bit hard :(

That's it for today, dunno what is for dinner or lunch tomorrow, but i have decided since I am no Longer working, there really is no need to batch cook but if I have an over spill I will POP it in the freezer.

Last night and the night before we had Italian beans and pasta from the more with less cookbook. Original recipe called for marrowfat peas or beans I used some garden peas from the freezer, bit of frozen beef mince from freezer, bag of waitrose pasta i got last month, tinned tomatoes, tub of Swiss bouillion vegetable stock I opened months ago, dried oregano, frozen parsley and Nishan jar garlic pur!e from last month. The recipe also has an unusual secret ingredient, dark corn syrup-I substitute treacle instead. Not that strange when you consider ketchup and baked bean sauce contain molasses. It was delicious tasted like the beef and tomato pot noodle. There was loads left too so we had the rest last night xx

Morning all. Really feel like I could go back to bed, despite getting an earlyish night. Not sure what I'm doing about meals. Will be something light for dinner like cuppa soup.

Tea I've no idea. Ds will be with his dad so it's just me. Will have to have a scout around in the cupboards for something spicy.
