Afternoon all.
Had a cheese muffin, not too long ago, will pick at some pineapple if I need to pick.
I was gonna take out salmon or a joint, instead I have taken out a rack of ribs, to go with the Long awaited, chilli, cheese and sweetcorn muffins, I keep banging on about making, while I have the oven on I will crisp up the ribs, which I will sc first, also make, lemon and yogurt drizzle cake, oh and cheesy coleslaw as well.

Well, not had anything for brekkie, just a bag of jerky. Am now getting into the swing of not spending and using stores, though it caused a near breakdown to start, but now look forward to checking through everything. We are having a Homemade Fish Crumble With Cheese Sauce for dinner all out of stores/freezer and will add some peas or green beans. I am hoping not to shop 'till Thursday, we will prob run out of salad by then, but i will just swop for other meals. I have a ton of veg in fridge which needs using, so will make chicken caseroles for freezer, if i can find some room. We have run out of butter, have some yucky tins of the stuff which i bought AF, but don't like so will use up the tubs of cream cheese in fridge instead. Electric blue skies here, hope its nice where you are0

Biscuitmad- your freezer sounds like mine
Going shopping with Mum later, we have a £7 off £50 in Mr T's so I'm pleased 'cos we will just spend £25 each (if I'd gone on my own my will power would have failed and I'd have spent £50 to get the £7 off).
Getting some chicken out tonight and using some frozen peppers up to get rid of one of the many fajita kits lurking in the cupboard. yum!
Got a massive pack of jus-rol pastry in the freezer - bought it 2 years ago...will it still be OK? Totally unopened, no idea what to do with it, just thought it would be useful. Clearly not :cool:Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

NSD so far and probably just enough milk to last until tomorrow morning.
Shuffled the freezers a bit, took out some bread and I'm taking out a chicken en croute thing for tomorrow (3 potatoes left), need to make space for 2 of the Lidl pork loin joints.
Got some bacon to use up and probably a pasta meal with maybe some meatballs on Sunday, or I might swap tomorrow's and Sunday's around. lol
I did pop into Boot's on the way back from the tip and bought 4 Nivea deodorants for 55p each using 4 x 50p coupons and they were also half-price. That's 9 deodorants of late and balances things out a little.
Black rain clouds all day today and we've had a fair bit of the wet stuff ........ garden looks pretty though!!!!

OK, think I've got an actual problem. Went to Mr T's with the intent of getting a few key items. £55 later I walk out. I think I'm slowly realising where our pennies go each month.
I'm going to start my own little "write what you bite" diary on this board to try and figure out just how much of everything we go through in a week (how many loaves etc.) so I can budget properly. Maybe working out if we finish a loaf for example, I'll take £1 out of our money towards replacing that loaf.
Something has to give. My name is ammonite and I'm addicted to grocery shopping0 -

A few key items??
Looks like you bought the locks to go with them. lol
TBH, I think most of us have problems just buying and buying ....... perhaps some sort of addiction??
My annual budget is supposed to suppress my spending, but it doesn't ....... as long as there are bargains ............... I want them!!
Spend are less, yes ....................... but quantities are NOT down ..................... just targeting the bargains more.
Good luck, hope the key items "unlock" your spending problems. :rotfl:

I didn't dare use my vouchers in Boots because I read on a thread that Boots won't let you use coupons on their offers and even when not using with offers that you can only use one coupon per transaction.
Guessing that must have just been their branch then.
How many would you say those pork loin joints feed, Lynsey? I'd need it to go for 3 adults. Is it a joint for roasting?
Recovering - I wasn't so struck on the bacon from Lidls offer either. Used the last of it up yesterday on dinner and won't bother with that one again.
Ammonite - I love that puff made into sausage plait (mixed in sage & onion) and also is lovely if you roll out and cut rectangles, then place tuna and canned creamed mushrooms into it with grated cheese on top and then bake. Yum!AUGUST GROCERY CHALLENGE £115.93/ £250

I have lost my freezer list so wont be posting it, god knows where it has gone. I put it in my handbag to plan meals but never got round to it. OH didnt have tea as he left early for work, so i am having his fish for lunch tomorrow. The last time we had fajitas i had enough left over to make up two to freeze for a later day. I will take one out tomorrow for my tea and have it with some salad. I have posted my meal plan for next week and each night i have a hm ready meal from the freezer. Nice easy week for me next week.Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404

Went to Aldi for the Love Spread and bought two tubs. Also got a pack of Maris Pipers and some noodles, plus a load of the totm things as they were reduced to 69p and they are as good as the Always.
Then I took my friend to Sainsburys and planned on only getting the jugit milk, but ended up £13 poorer!! I got some ys TTD west country cheddar beefburgers which look lovely,4 more milks, frozen chips, three strawberry tarts (3 for 2 but still.....), Robinsons squash, yeast, Basics tortilla chips, grated mild cheese, basics eggs, and I asked at the bakery if they had any fresh yeast and they gave me a bag of it. Now I need to look online for how to use fresh yeast in the breadmaker.
When I got home I put the chops in the oven and made the kids nachos as a "starter" I ended up eating so many of them that I was too full for any proper tea!! Kids still managed to eat barbecue pork chops and oven chips (was going to do rice but CBA) and salad.
Lovely evening here - hope it is nice where you are.Jane
