I did a freezer inventory at the weekend - I have so much meat!! I need to eat enough of it to make roomf ro the icecream maker bowl so I can make some frozen yoghurt!

If anyone sees me perusing the YS butchers counter than shoo me away!

    I have about

    2kg of rump steak
    3 brisket joints
    3 kg of braising steak
    3 pork belly joints
    4 lots of diced chicken
3 lots of chicken mini fillets
    4 whole chicken breasts
    2 kg of pork steaks
    2 kg of lamb mince
    1kg pork mince
    3 kg of beef mince
    18 sausages
    2 bags of cooked turkey
    2 gammon steaks
    Loads of diced bacon

All frozne in meal sized portions

Frozen parsips, butter nut squash, soya beans, peas, spinach, corn, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, pears

Suggestions for the stewing/ braising steak be much appreciated - all I cna ever think of is pies and stew!

What on earth is "lovely sunshine"??
Must be a Yorkshire thing, don't get anything like that up here ..... sadly.

Scones have 2 minutes to go and I had to use Vitalite instead of butter and no caster sugar, so ordinary ...................

I want your drawers biscuitmad! Mine are looking decidedly empty of late. Still, I guess that was the idea. :)

Lidls meat offer isn't really tempting me this week. Have the Cured pork joint offer. Never had that and not too sure.
As I only have £20 to play with I think I'll snaffle 2x buttery choc biscuits (for evening cuppas) and I quite fancy a bottle of Bitter lemon @ 19p. Don't often have that and love it.

Used up all the bits and bobs of veg in fridge for a veggie soup today and have enough left for tomorrows lunch, too. Fridge practically empty but looking very clean. :D

I have rather a lot of scone mix to use and my mouth is watering thinking about them now so think they may be on the baking list tomorrow. ;)

Lynsey, apologies forgot to answer your question yesterday, i have started doing more ms, yes i have done 1 hotel before, hoping with my redundancy to get more work and so far its working. i done 6 jobs on tuesday thats the most i have done in a day before, got 1 tomorrow.

yesterday i had chinese, so had the remainder for brunch, finally cut the pineapple 89p from mr s basics and its nice and sweet, took the rest of gammon off the bone and will have it with aunt bessies roasties, peas and sweetcorn.

debating whether i should take out a pork joint or salmon for tomorrow, still unsure.

When Lidl had its middle bacon i thought i would try a pack and i did, i will never buy it again, it had huge amounts of fat on it, i cant eat fat itds gross, not only that but the water and fat that came off 2 slices grilled in the george foreman, the drip tray was half full, have frozen the other 5 slices and will buy no more, for 94p i will pass.

also bought a blackcurrant cordial from m&s it is very week, you need loads of cordial to get any taste, wont be buying it again, i will stic to their high juice.

I would be interested in doing it but never found a good company.
  • Have been slacking lately and bought some new bits in despite lacking room! However am back on track, flatmate wants to thaw our little freezer when she gets back from holiday!

Today had fruit n fibre and the last pear from the fruit bowl. Lunch was a roll from freezer, filled with bean pate I made last night using tinned beans and some chutney I wasn't fond of on its own. Dinner is a pukka pie from freezer bought ages back for 41p with last of fresh green beans and carrots, plus some little potatoes donated from flatmate. Pud is a maple and pecan danish I've also thawed, bought previously on rtc :)
I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

Had a phone call this morning... no college.. yayy. No idea why, but I'm not complaining! Made my steak & kidney pie, ds enjoyed it. I need to practice a bit tho lol.

Also made my rhubarb crumble. Not sure I like the light brown or caster sugar to make the crumble, sure I've made it before with normal sugar and it was a lot more rougher, which I prefer.

Bought a few things on the school run. Seabrook crisps and a death by chocolate cheese cake... just for Florenceem.

biscuitmad - your freezer must be the size of a house!
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

Oh forgot to drain stir fry mix i defrosted. When i looked in the fridge before i found a bag of mush. it was a 10p ys but thats not the point. I had to bin it. Boys had gammon and chips for tea which they were more than happy with. My mum had sent over some cooked chicken so i added that to some roasted veg. Very nice it was, enough left for lunch for oh & me tomorrow. I'm off to take some tillapia fillets out for tea tomorrow night. You also might have the misfortune to see my posted freezer(s) list tomorrow. I am going now to hang my head in shame.
