Good that you are on the mend.
Hols?? 8 nights, away next Tuesday and back on the Wednesday (15th - 23rd).
Agree regarding Edwardia - post for the ones who enjoy and want to read and NOT for those who just want to argue.
Spend in Asda and not planned!!
Just 30 bob though, or £1.50 in new money. lol
Packs of Kettle crisps were on the reduced shelf because the packets were opened a little - just the outer pack and NOT the 5 packets inside - so 50p for 5 packets of Kettle crisps - only took the one pack.
Reduced fine sea salt also - 25p per tub, so bought 2 tubs as 2016 use by date.
Bread, Brother wanted a small tiger loaf and they were 2 for £1 or 70p each, so I went halfers and we got one each for £1 - 50p each (I actually got the poppy seeded bloomer).
£1.50 to add to budget.
See what Sainsbury's have on offer tonight, but scaling down now and really hoping I have a blank week with "whoopsies" now.

Have many crisps do you eat a day. We all have our little weakness - I love sweets. However I limit myself to one piece of nougat a day. I so enjoy that nougat. Mr F asked me if I fancied a square of chocolate yesterday - yes - just one square but I didn't. ?Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

TBH, I only buy crisps now when on offer or cheaply from B&M's or Home Bargains. If there are none in the house, then I'll go without for days on end. 2 packets per day max., that's 2 smallish packets or 1/2 a 150g large bag - so when in a crisp mood, around 70g.
1 square of chocolate and you declined. lol
I [STRIKE]do[/STRIKE] probably eat more chocolate than crisps when chocolate is around, though budget helps to a degree - lots of choccy things I don't buy now - next year could be different though.

Chicken kebabs were fab, it worked well leaving them to marinate overnight. None left for lunch tomorrow though. You would have been proud of my portion size florenceem, the roasted veg was so lovely that i only had two small chunks of chicken & 1/2 a pitta bread.Grocery Challenge 24th Feb-28 Dec 2012 £2000/£1404

I agree with other posters Edwardia - I really found your posts interesting and hope you don't leave!
Was hoping for NSD but went to the little Tesco and bought a meal deal for £2.50 for DD's lunch as she is off sick. No excuses - just lazy!
made a traybake last night with some bottled cherries I got in the Lidl the other day. It turned out nice and I have cut and frozen it in little squares [STRIKE]to stop me scoffing the lot[/STRIKE]for lunchboxes.
dinner tonight was beef strogonoff made using a smallish piece of rump steak from the freezer and some mushrooms, onions and a blob of soured cream. It was niceand made enough for all of us, but I overseasoned it a bit and now am mad thirsty!!
I have to watch the pennies until I get my next pay cheque which should be next monday. I love the freedom of being self employed but because money comes in dribs and drabs it is difficult to budget. I did a huge excel spreadsheet of my budget for the rest of the year though but it will only work if I get my fees in on time!!
My freezer is about two thirds full at the moment and my cupboards are the same.
Florenceem - can you lend me some of your self control please? I have no willpower when it comes to chocolate at all - I just have to not have it in the house. I am not quite as bad with crisps but i don't have them in the house either as I do sometimes get the urge for crisp butties!!Jane

Evening all - made a bit of a mistake on the woopsie front last night. Thought it was a bag of soup mix reduced from 79p to 9p so bought the 3 bags, but when I got them home its carrot and swede mix. I threw them in the freezer until I had time to think - so - just wondered could I use these in a soup? any ideas what I can do with them (i don't like it usually so would need to mix it with other ingredients - lol!!!) Thanks.I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!0

Not really planning, just I'll have the option when this annual budget is over. Money spent on chocolate could be better spend on "proper" food at the moment, hence being restrained. A budget sure makes sure you prioritise to a degree.
Veggie day completed, I had another stir fry. Carrot and coriander soup for tomorrow and free breakfast tomorrow from Ikea - treat from Brother for all the help.
No further spends tonight and got a few coupons to use tomorrow or Thursday in Sainsbury's. Trying to meal plan around what I've got, don't really want to be buying much fresh stuff. Got some mozzarella to use, so possibly naan bread pizzas tomorrow night or Thursday??
Late coffee, some crisps and some cooking chocolate to dip in coffee!!
