katskorner - hope you get the weather you deserve and all goes to plan.
Florenceem - you are an absolute star, bless you. Witty, a little cheeky and very inspirational.
No more spends today and not hungry so turned mince into cottage pie for tomorrow and hubby had h/m fish-cakes with Sainsbury's 8p mushy peas - he reckons they are better than Aldi's and without the added fluorescent dye!!
Need nothing until Saturday now, so only be spending on mega-bargains.
Put more in freezers than taken out today and back to almost full capacity!!! No Lidl meat this weekend, so can relax. Hoping to pick up some cheap "goodies" at the weekend, probably hit B&M's and Home Bargains.

I use my ancient Kenwood hand mixer to make my Yorkshire batter.
Makes 12.
Cost approx - 24p.
6ozs plain flour.
1 egg.
6 - 8 fl ozs milk/water mix.
Whisk all together - I add in freshly ground black pepper.
Leave to stand about 1 hour.
Put tiny knob of lard in each muffin tin space - heat in 220c oven. As quickly as possible divide batter between the 12 spaces. Cook for about 20 minutes.
I noticed that bought Yorkshires contain sugar and salt. Much better and a lot cheaper to make your own - takes so little time. I used to make 24 Yorkshires at dinnertime - put 10 - 12 that were not on dinner plates - on server in middle of table. Never any left!Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Mr F ventured into the garage - took salmon ( for Friday's dinner ) and a slice of banana cake out of the freezer. Result - space to fit in a tub of 4 Yorkshire Puddings. I got the tub of 6 YPs in the small freezer - had to take out a tub of rhubarb/blackberry crumble.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Morning.
Easy day today, toasted tea-cake for breakfast, already made main meal (cottage pie) and maybe a ham sandwich (never froze ham yet).
Pretty dull today, need a few full sun days to dry everything out and get some gardening done.
Have a great day.

Morning all.... I have been paid csa... wooohooo. Got an extra week too so I can now breathe a sigh of relief.
Feel like doing a big shop, but I know if I do I'll end up buying a shed load of stuff for the fridge that'd be impossible to use it all by the 'use by'.
No idea what I'm doing for meals today, so much for my meal planning lol. Think I'll have the lidl lamb shanks in the fridge. Not tried them yet.
College today... yawn. Hope it's more interesting than last week. Think the whole class was falling to sleep during a dvd. Was thinking of taking ds to park after school if the weather looks nice but it's looking a little dull and miserable, so we shall see. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -

I remember I phoned the Council once asking if I could have a skip outside the front of my house.
The Guy said, "You can cartwheel down the street for all I care".
Sorry.

Just been to Sainsbury's myself and bought 2 bags for £1 and ANOTHER free jug-it. lol
Only went in to get hubby a bottle of Bell's whisky, on offer at £14 per litre over the Bank Holiday and because I've got some £2 off £20 vouchers.
Made the spend up with some L'Oreal and used the £2.50 coupon and bought an iced cake for £1 - so another £2 spend on food budget and NOT as planned. Froze 1 bag so at least we have milk when back from hols.
