Kittendothroar love the sound of the pancakes,i never even thought of savoury pancakes . How did you make them, i have a box of batter that needs using up.
Lyra Im wondering if i could do this with ready made sauce, as im desperately trying to use stocks. I have this http://www.approvedfood.co.uk/?pid=29183 the burgers that is, what do you rekon ?0 -
I've stopped eating anything Quorn now after finding out it has nothing to do with mushrooms and is actually soil mould fed on glucose in big silos ewww. This causes me a bit of a dilemma. OH doesn't like skinless chicken breast " cardboard " nor the idea of soil mould. We're just gonna have to keep stuffing freezer with duck legs anytime they're on offer.
Dinner now they've defrosted is yummy NZ grass fed loin lamb chops from Lidl. Definitely recommend them.0 -

Might be worth a try, I mean you need moisture to hold the meat together, so maybe use instead of an egg?0 -
went to Asda earlier to get hubby birthday meal and grabbed a bag of offer takeway (£5) and a bottle of fizz on offer at £3 5.5% and pretty nice actually!. Also got milk, frubes and washing powder and saved a tenner with coupons - spend in total £4 - excellent deal.
gonna eat it in a minute!
hubby is very chuffed with my surprise weekend away and we are all really looking forward to it - just planning what food to take with us as caravan has a small freezer and decent fridge so probably will take a whole chicken for Sunday and cook it in our Remoska (the best invention ever) and have caravan chicken for dinner.
Of course breakfasts are the best and involve bacon, eggs, beans, toast and mushies as well as anything else I can muster - EVERY DAY - nom nom...
excited!3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

We had roast potatoes, roast parsnip, steak in thick gravy, HM Yorkshire pudding with roasted beetroot, onions and tomatoes for dinner. I made 12 Yorkshire puddings so 10 to go in the freezer.
Tomorrow night is TITH.
I have done my menu for the next 18 day's dinners - takes me up to next pension day.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Evening all. Decided to have a sweet n sour cuppa soup for dinner, then stuffed myself with chilli and chips for tea and felt a bit icky afterwards lol.
Feeling absolutely whacked so reckon I'll get an early night and go to bed in a mo. Been hitting the sack at 11:30 or even later lately and it's taken it's toll I think.
Not sure what to do for meals tomorrow. Something light probably.
Flo - what does TITH mean? Looks a yummy meal btw. Love veg like that.
katskorner - Loved the caravan hols when I was younger, fab times. Oh, and are you buying booze, again??????? :beer:There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
katskorner - hope you get the weather you deserve and all goes to plan.
Florenceem - you are an absolute star, bless you. Witty, a little cheeky and very inspirational.
No more spends today and not hungry so turned mince into cottage pie for tomorrow and hubby had h/m fish-cakes with Sainsbury's 8p mushy peas - he reckons they are better than Aldi's and without the added fluorescent dye!!
Need nothing until Saturday now, so only be spending on mega-bargains.
Put more in freezers than taken out today and back to almost full capacity!!! No Lidl meat this weekend, so can relax. Hoping to pick up some cheap "goodies" at the weekend, probably hit B&M's and Home Bargains.

Hiya! As I made a big lunch and didn't fancy dinner till gone 8pm and needed still do the ironing, I couldn't be bothered to make them! However if I had, then I use a recipe from goodtoknow site http://www.goodtoknow.co.uk/recipes/441136/Tuna-and-vegetable-pancakes though I like mine with a sauce and this was my version before of them http://anneskitchen1.blogspot.co.uk/2011/08/finally-batter-success-tuna-olive-and.html
In the end my dinner was an omelette with red pepper in, served with tuna on the side, and lightly boiled courgettes with peas. And an evil maple and pecan danish that threw itself into my trolley :rotfl: well it was only 50p for two, would have been cruel to leave him behind!!I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D
