Am on a day off at last, so had a lie in and got up late - when the postie knocked! Had to answer in dressing gown with no glasses on so looked pretty gormless for 11.30am haha!

Made broccoli soup for lunch, using up the very last tsp of pesto! felt very mse! Also made with it some basil bannocks (using up basil oil!), from the river cottage bread book which used up nearly all of a scraggly bag of oatmeal!

In the oven now are a batch of twinks hobnobs, though added an oz of coconut powder bought by mistake instead of desiccated version - they are smelling heavenly, hope they taste good! Can't wait for them to be baked!

Dinner will be cupboard raid - think going to attempt tuna and cheese baked pancakes... though batter and me are sworn enemies so we shall see!
I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

Trying to find a work life balance...:rotfl:

    Lip_Stick - OMG!!!!!!

Shopped a bit today and used some coupons.

    Asda
    2 x chicken en croute reduced to £1.35 each = £2.70

    Morries
    2 x Quorn saugages @ 99p perpack = £1.98 minus 2 x 50p coupons = 98p
    Fresh cream scones on offer @ 59p = 59p
    350g gammon ham on offer @ 50p per 100g = £1.75
    Pease pudding = 21p
    Flora spread (yahoo!!) = £1
    2 x Benecol yoghurts (4 pack) @ £1 pack (offer) - minus 2 x 75p coupons = 50p
    Total = £5.03

    Sainsbury's
    1 x Bart turmeric (reduced) = 20p
No reduced green olives in stock!!!

Days food spend so far = £7.93 and quite pleased with what I got for the effort put in.

    L'Oreal tip.
Asda have the shampoos on at 2 for £4
They also have wipes, lotions and creams etc. for £2

By using 2 x shampoo coupons (£1.50 each) and 2 x skin care coupons (£2.50 each), you can get 2 x shampoos AND 2 x £2 skin care products TOTALLY FREE.
Total £8 - minus £8 worth of coupons - happy shopping. :money:

Just had ham and pease pudding sandwiches and a cream scone and I feel stuffed ............... almost as stuffed as my freezers. :rotfl:

I must be the only one that hasn't got the l'oreal shampoo vouchers but they've given me cosmetics, skincare and lipstick ones instead. :(

I don't think I'll bother with the skincare and cosmetics ones as I get plenty of those things from Boots trials.

Must print off some of those Benecol ones, tho.
Lynsey - is it just the plain Quorn sausages that are on offer at Morries?

Chicken curry and rice for tea tonight. Will pull a pk of naans out the freezer as they've been there too long. (an old order from AP foods when they were doing 8pks of 2 for £1).

    Hey guys.

First day of being home and paid. Haven't done much, I could have been way more productive, I have finally put on lasagne using the last of the philly for a white sauce, then some cheese from the freezer, will use the last if the green beans and some of the lidl carrots for veg and I am contemplating some of the garlic bread I have frozen.

For lunch I had the leftover Chinese from yesterday, I need to get some eggs in as I want to start making some stuff from the humming bird bakery book i bought for £8 from book people, to counteract that I'm going to get a months swimming pass, will get out tomorrow and do that, also have a zumba class tom, dont want to laze around the house all day every day, just because i am being paid, don't want to get into that kind of routine.

Tomorrow when I get back from swimming, I bought a bacon joint, will put that in the slow cooker with some apple juice, this will do for lunches, as I have various types of bread in the freezer, wholemeal bread, pittas, muffins, sandwich thins and i have 2 packs of Wrights bread mix, it's a 1kg ham, so will make half and freeze the rest and get some salad bits tomorrow from the market to go with it all, also eggs and Apple juice.

Quorn sausages, yes just 8 plain sausages.

Shampoo - I'm sure you can change your preferences, you need to get rid of cosmetics or lipstick.

    Good luck.

    Yum!

Done an inventory of meals and I have 4 dinners left :T Really pleased because I'm moving in a month (well 29 days!). Don't move into my new flat until July so will be living with the parents for the time being & really don't want/need to be bringing stacks of food/toiletries back with me! Going to be living more day to day rather than bulk buying which is what I was doing.

Been naughty today, got some dark chocolate from the co-op for 89p (big bar). I've given up fizzy drinks, sweets & crisps, so far so good, so wanted to treat myself :o My BMI is fine but don't think sugar does me any good & I do find it better just not to eat things like this as am not very good with moderation!

Off to a friends this weekend, so it's beef stir fry tonight, probably jacket potato with cheese (use up the little I have left) and will take some pasta & tuna mayo with me on the train on Friday.

You don't need to cook the apples beforehand and yes eating apples are fine. I love pork and apple burgers!

    Cherry and Coconut Muffins.
    Makes 12.

    10 ozs plain flour.
    2 ozs sugar.
    2 ozs margarine.
    2 eggs.
    4 rounded tsp baking powder.
    6 glace cherries.
    2 ozs dessicated coconut.
    8 fl ozs milk.

Mix flour/baking powder/sugar/coconut and cherries in a bowl. I cut each cherry into 12 pieces. Melt marge in MW. Add beaten eggs/milk and marge to dry ingredients. Mix to combine. I use Muffin cases from Wil... but do buy pretty ones when I see them elsewhere. Put mix into Muffin cakes in a Muffin tray. Bake - 200c - approx 20 minutes. Remove from tray and cool on wire rack.

    Cost approx 75p.

Not a lot of fat/sugar in these muffins. I like that.
