Been to sainsbobs and lidl today. spent money. ooerr..
wine promotion in sainsburys - save 25% off when you buy 6 bottles ends today and works with other promotions. I got:
3 x picinni chianti (was £11.99 now £4.99)
3 x mcguigan bin merlot (3 for £12)
6 toretta pino grigio (£9.99 but buy 3 for £12)
3 silician toretta red (£9.99 but buy 3 for £12)
3 california berryleaf falls red (3 for £12)
all had the extra 25% off and came to £140.82 before discounts and then £58.44 to pay - WOWZERS!
got a bit of food too - that came to £1.89
then went to Lidl and they had their cabernet sauvignon on offer at £3.59 a bottle instead of £4.49 and then you get £2 off if you buy 6 - so I did. Bargain as lovely wine.
That is me stocked up for a bit!
Dinner tonight is freezer salmon marinated in cajun spice and served with ratatouille and couscous, boys having the same but veg not ratatouille.
Tomorrow it is hubbys bday so will be having a takeaway (supermarket probs). Boys will get pasta with smoked sausage, tom sauce, peas and sweetcorn I think.
(This thread is brill cos it helps me to plan for the next day or few days - which is what I need!)3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Lol.
It's the 1st day of Month 5 and total for the 1st 4 months was £359.23, so £90'ish per month.
I'm working on a 6 week spend and week 18 (3 x 6 weeks) ends on Saturday and this last 6 weeks will easily be my biggest 6 week spend (coffee was the culprit)!!
The reason I'm working on 6 weeks spends rather than months is that 8 x 6 weeks (48 weeks) will take me to December and Xmas time - hope I've got at least £250 for December (last 4 weeks), that's the aim anyway. Hate to have to have beans on toast for Xmas lunch just to not go over budget. lol
NSD and probably stay that way until tomorrow. Only if I go late to Sainsbury's will the NSD be broken.
Just printed some coupons and there is a 50p off Quorn coupon. Morries have the Quorn sausages for only 99p, so only 49p with coupon. I'll get a few of them tomorrow with the cheap Benecol yoghurts (75p off coupon).

thats great about yoru caravan, well i had lifted stuff out to make meatballs for dinner, but hubby just invited me out for ribs so doing that instead, mil is taking the kids for mcd's (i know, i know we're not usually this bad) tomorrow is bil birthday and we're heading there for dinner so i might make the meatballs tomorrow and freeze them, if not they'll be thurs tea.
Hubbys not feeling great so i wnet to tesco to get him a throat spray and collect a parcel, spent £11 i got the mushrooms and carrots i needed half price, also got peppers half price (gonna make my own wraps and make burittos over the weekend so will use them and freeze the rest) got some stuffing for meatballs, i have breadcrumbs in the freezer but there in the other house and i'm worried if they thaw before i'm ready to cook it they'll go soggy, also got 4 loaves fo reduced bread and a bag of oranges, throat spray was £5 so pretty small spends.
Then since i was that direction anyway and had already spent i got milk from lidl (i prefer theres) mayo (again prefer theres to even the big brand ones) and some garlic powder because i'd forgot i needed it, so a £3.30 spend.
Thats me sorted for the rest of the week, then i'll need milk to get me threw next week and possibly a bag of spuds we'll see how it goes.DEC GC £463.67/£450

do you think I should include booze in my grocery spend budget, or not?3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

i include everything in mine (we don't drink much anyway but spend loads of takeaway as you can see lol, usually it's just us and not the kids tho) i took it out for awhile but then relised i was more likely to get takeaway when it wasn't in my budget and needed accounted for.DEC GC £463.67/£450

Afternoon all. so went to next town fo second day and I have to say it's looking scruffy with lots of closed shops in the shopping centre. It seems Aldi has gone
The B&Q is now a big Morrisons and I will investigate this week. Mooched in Poundstretcher, good garden bargains but nowt proper food, all junk. The Netto is now ASDA and teeniest one I've been in. Got walnut oil, sesame seed oil, cider vinegar and organic basmati rice for OH (all ASDA own brands) saw quite a lot of YS whipping cream but nowt for us.
Walked around for two hours, so much so got a blister off the strap of my new Crocs
Tried Bleiker's smoked salmon when I got home - on offer £1 off at Morrisons normally 3.99. RSPCA fredom food, no artificial stuff, smoked in Yorkshire and totally yummy, would buy it again and yes smoked salmon freezes no probs.0 -
Well, had the last of the M&S risotto for tea. Ds really enjoyed it... maybe that's because I put salad cream on it lol. Sounds gross but it's really nice. Salad cream is also nice on a really hot curry.
Made my bread which was nice. Mistake tho as I ended up eating some warm with butter for my dinner.
Edwardia - will have to try that smoked salmon, especially since it's from Yorkshire.Need some new crocs... ones that look a bit more feminine!
katskorner - that's a lot of booze! Hope you all enjoy your hol... if you get there lol.
quintwins... nowt wrong with a maccy d's once in a blue moon. As someone said earlier, their beef burgers are from the good cuts of meat without any of the crap parts put in.
Lynsey - I thought you'd have got one of the cheap turkey crowns from Asda, that would have been Christmas sorted!ms_night_ryder wrote: »gosh when i read my posts i have done onb my phone, i have to laugh at all the mistakes, wonder gow you guys put up with it lol.
And there I was thinking you were on the sauce every day. There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0 -
We had HM sausage pie with roast potatoes/ roast parsnip, carrots, onions, peas and baked onion.
I did some more baking while the oven was on - all ingredients I had in - so no shopping required. I will post a photo later.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
