    I've been Money Tipped!
ms_night_ryder - when Lidl have the half-price chicken offers you have to get there early I'm afraid, they are very, very popular.

Edwardia - glad you're sorted. I think in the near future, most blood tests will be done at your GP's.

Done my shopping and spent £6.98.

    Morries:
Gammon ham (on offer at 50p per 100g) - 85p
    2 bananas - 24p
    Total £1.09

    Farmfoods:
    Sweetcorn (750g) - £1
    BOGOF mushrooms - £1
    Sugar - 89p
    Total: £2.89

    Lidl:
    Milk (4 pints) - £1
    FR eggs (6 medium) - 95p
    2 x Rich Tea - 46p
    Multi-grain loaf - 59p
    Total £3.00

Bertolli was back up to £1.87'ish in Morries so left it and went to Lidl to get the Olive oil spread and forgot it!!!! Just enough to last until tomorrow. Shame I forgot that as I would have been set for a few day!!
Bought the bread as it was still warm and just had that with some gammon ham (lovely) - stir fry cooked to re-heat later.

Eggs for veggie brunch tomorrow and managed to fit in the frozen veg, took out the last of the ice cream, so none left now and not buying any until after holidays.

Got quite a bit for my money today and NO "whoopsies" ............ maybe later. lol

Lynsey, my Doc very good at bloods but not all doctors and nurses are. I've had some pretty awful blood tests before and once ended up with a bruise on my arm the side of a tea plate !

I got off train in next town and felt like a clockwork toy winding down so after optician hit Marks and Spencer for a salad. Yucky salad cream, not very good ham and Iceberg lettuce but only 9.6g carbs the lot. Better for me than pies or McD's though.

Ate in local park cos sunny and while eating spotted a big Poundland had opened other side of park. Got three tins of Italian tomatoes for £1.

Went to a discount bookshop called The Works and picked up a low carb shopping guide reduced from 5.99 to 99p !

Holland and Barrett doing that Buy One buy another for 1p offer on some stuff so I got pumpkin seeds saving 1.98 :)

Didn't find Aldi.. the Somerfield became Co-op, the Netto became ASDA and I'm wondering if the Aldi is now Morries cos lots of people wandering about with Morrisons bags. Back there tomorrow though so I'll find out

No idea what's for dinner, totally zonked !

Huuby did get the mince out of the freezer (lamb) so I have made a biryani with a mint and coriander sauce. DS1 chopped up loads of veggies for me and I also added a tin of chopped tomatoes. It is really nice! Never made it before cos it looks carby but it tastes lovely, the sauces were cheap and I have three more to use up so they couldn't stay in the cupboard forever.

Tomorrow I think we are going to have cajun or paprika pan-fried salmon, couscous and ratatoullie. The kids will have something similar but probably not ratatouille.

Wednesday is hubby's bday (a biggy) so we want to go out but struggling for a babysitter so may end up having a takeaway and then doing something nice at the weekend.
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

  • Today did well from stocks - usual cereal, then lunch was some ditalini, from a packet I've had ages along with tinned mackerel in teryaki sauce - quite tasty and salady bits from fridge, including using last of cucumber up. Dinner I made blue cheese and potato cakes - using instant mash, last of blue cheese that needed eating up and the last of the breadcrumbs! Had it with fresh veggies I bought on Saturday. Oh and a cornetto :-D

    Quite an efficient day!

  • Made mexican style salad for OH lunch today - I got the idea off here somewhere so thanks to whoever it was. Tin of beans in chilli sauce, avocado pear, peppers, chilli radishes and onion - he loved it.
We had caesar chicken salad with the leftover chicken from last night and cheapie lettuce from yesterday.
We've dragged a little rotisserie oven out of the garage as I think it'll use less electricity than the big oven so cooked the chicken in it last night and it was really good. I'm going to take a little beef joint out tonight and try that in it tomorrow.
Lyndsey and Ms_night-ryder - I've never managed to get a lidl chicken offer, just can't make it early enough and it sells out very quickly. Not many I have got to be honest.
Edwardia - we have a little local clinic that does blood tests etc now. Its much better than the big hospital as you make a timed appointment.
I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly :D

Off topic blackandwhitebunny but if you add lime juice and lime zest to that Mexican salad its out of this world!

  • Hi Tiff (waves) I did add lime juice just forgot to mention it. Was it your post the idea was in originally?

I dont think so, mine is slightly different but nearly the same, we love it with a burger or chicken. I got my recipe here http://www.honeywhatscooking.com/2010/05/healthy-avocado-black-bean-salad-before.html
