    I've been Money Tipped!
    Morning.

Veggie day number 2 of the week, though I personally had a veggie day yesterday, though hubby didn't.

Toast today with my h/m bread and probably Linda Mc sausages in a bun with onions.
Got the apple and sultana pie to finish and also the cream.

Just snacking today as doing a bit more DIY for Brother.
Need to get some shopping for him from Morries and I need olive oil spread, probably get some Bertolli (£1), so that'll mean no NSD!!

Catch up later, have a nice day.

Gotta get milk tomorrow and also stock up on Lidl weekend deals - need branston beans and will probably get mushrooms, toms and bacon too if they have any left!

    Hi all,

Quite a successful day yesterday in terms of bargains alhough it was cancelled out by the takeaway we had last night (was exhausted after shopping).

Called into Morrisons and got a few things reduced, 2 pack of cheese and ham slices, 4 pack of cheese and onion slices, 2 cooked chicken breasts from the hot counter, a 4 pack of giant rolls for 19p and some hot dog rolls for about the same.

Already made 4 trays of cheese straws (for the second time this week!) and a tray of millionaires shortbread so hopefully that will be it for baking this week other than making a cheesecake tomorrow (Dr Oetker Cheesecake base and filling from Approved Foods) to take to mum's tomorrow night as her partner's daughter is over from Ireland for a brief visit and we are having takeaway pizza as they will be at Silverstone all day so we are taking dessert.

No real idea what to have for dinner so it will be something quick from the freezer, very little energy left to do anything now!

Hope you all have good days
  • Garnetlady - so sorry about your FIL
Katskorner - hope you are feeling better

cooked four nice chicken breasts last night (essential waitrose on the bone) which I defrosted earlier and then DD1 said she was going out for tea, so DD2 and I had some boiled pasta with hm tomato sauce and we will have the chicken for tea tonight, with hm root slaw. The root slaw is lovely - its just a ribboned carrot, ribboned parsnip, sliced red onion and chopped celery mixed with a dressing of mustard, sour cream, salad cream and mayo (about a tbs of each) and salt and pepper.

Lunch is tuna and sweetcorn pittas and breakfast was Weetabix - i am slowly trying to use up the box of golden syrup weetabix i bought and thought were vile!

Just had an approved food order - pickled onions, Aldi muffin bars, Oxo's, Starbucks Frapuccinos (8), two boxes of paxo, ainsley harriot mexican savoury rice and four tins of butter cookies all for about a tenner delivered.

Lynsey - how did the bread turn out? i bought two loaves in Farmfoods yesterday and the kids were ecstatic as they much prefer it (peasants!!) to my home made stuff.

Was hoping for a NSD but need to buy spread - will get some of the £1 Flora ,Tesco, but nothing else!

hope you are all having a good day - it's lovely here today!

Just popped back before popping out again and spent the £1 on Bertolli.

Jane and Lip_Stick - are you doubting my bread-making skills (for want of a better word)?? :D :rotfl:

Actually worked out pretty well, at least the birds thought so. lol
Had some toasted for breakfast. Rises very well when remembering to put the paddle in first!!
Need some seeds though, have to look at the weekend.

KFC - just posted an offer on the coupons board this morning where by using a voucher, you can get a "real" coffee for only 49p.

    Link - http://www.kfc.co.uk/coffeeoffer

AngelC - well done on the bargains.

Afternoon all, Garnet Lady so sorry to hear about your loss.
chicken, chorizo and butterbean stew last night so that is a small space empty in the freezer, we were meant to have haddock fillets this evening with chorizo rice but oh was too lazy to rummage through the chest freezer. he has removed ys tilapia fillets so another tiny space has appeared, regards to everyone.

    Afternoon all.

Made a boo boo this morning as I forget to tell the neighbour that ds didn't need taking to school with him being at mam's, so the neighbour was waiting for him. :o I'd slept in, didn't hear anyone knocking. First I knew of it was my mam ringing saying the neighbour had phoned and wondered if I was still alive lol.

Just had mackerel in a tom sauce on toast that I got from Lidl about 2 years ago lol. It wasn't very nice as it was sweet. Won't be buying it again. The last 2 smart price sardines in tom sauce I've bought have had fish poo in it so haven't been gutted properly... yuck!

Think I might get some chips for ds and I on the way home from school, keep him happy.

Lynsey - where you getting the olive oil from?
There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.

  • grrrr DD has just come in from work for lunch and brought her friend and eaten a load of bacon and most of the chicken I had set aside for tonight. This despite me having prepared a big bowl of tuna sweetcorn mayo, which she said she didn't want!!!!!

Sorry just had to come on and tell someone!!

Re the bought bread from Farmfoods - my son is EXACTLY the same - its the highlight of his week if I buy this rather than give him homemade (where's the proper stuff he asks!! ) kids, who'd have em !!!
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!
